La proprietà è un grande angolo con un sacco di alberi che forniscono ombra e un piccolo patio con una piccola buca per il fuoco. In estate si sentono i gufi amichevoli che urlano al crepuscolo.
La nostra speranza è che apprezzerai questa casa e tutto il carattere che offre insieme a tutti i comfort moderni come Wi-Fi, nuova lavatrice e asciugatrice, nuova lavastoviglie, macchina per il caffè, nuova stufa e nuovo frigorifero con fabbricatore di ghiaccio.
Offre anche un ampio portico schermato con mobili in vimini e un piccolo portico posteriore con un paio di sedie a dondolo per rilassarsi.

What a great weekend at The Clausen House! We had 8 adults and 8 grands under 8 yrs old!
The location was in the heart of the town and the Lake for easy walks to shops, coffee, beach and splash pad, city park, Fire Museum, Freedom Rock and Central Gardens to name a few.
The house easily fit our family with plenty of room inside and outside to enjoy family fun!
Myron, the owner, was always a text away for questions and made sure we had everything we needed. Very clean historic house that we will always remember the fun times we had and the memories we made!

This house was the most equipped VRBO we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at plenty! This is a great rental for a large family six bedrooms all queen beds plus more! We had a family dinner for 12 at the family dining room and had all the pots and pans to cook for everyone. The grill was fabulous. They had plenty of games indoor and out for kids. This house had everything you could possibly need!

This is the second time our family has stayed at this house in Clear Lake, and it is one of our favorite places to stay for many reason.
We were in Clear Lake to attend the wedding of a great-niece. Our family filled the house but never felt like we were on top of each other. On Saturday we had my husband's siblings over and we grilled burgers and dogs on the grill and sat around the firepit. Everyone brought their lawn chairs and we had a fabulous time.
We enjoy this house because we are so close to everything. The kids enjoyed being able to walk to the park and splash pad and lake. Also they loved going next door to the library.
The shoppers were able to walk to main street and check out the stores whenever they wanted. And getting a coffee or ice cream or a bite to east was also easy.
The owner is extremely helpful and accommodating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our family get-together here. Everything we needed was in the house and then some! We even found a butane torch in one of the kitchen drawers so we could start a fire in the fire pit. We appreciated the basket of goodies waiting for us when we arrived. We loved being close to downtown, city park, and the beach. The sofa bed in the den and having a bathroom on the first floor worked great since we had someone with us who doesn't do well climbing up a steep flight of stairs. We are seriously considering renting the house again next year!

As a half way point between Colorado and Ohio, my family met in Clear Lake. The choice of the Clausen House made for a wonderful celebration. The home was everything we needed and far exceeded our expectations.

Wonderful Home for a Family Getaway
This was a wonderful home for a family getaway. It had everything we needed, including a highchair, kids' toys, nice grill and a large table for meals. It was a perfect location to walk everywhere we needed to go. Our grandkids loved going to the Central Gardens a couple of blocks away. It had a really cool children's area in the garden. You won't be disappointed in the Clausen House.

This home is a precious jewel in Clear Lake. The has been restored beautifully and is a wonderful place to stay. Very accommodating for small or big groups! We look forward to staying again!!

Fabulous House and Stay
We could not have been more pleased. We LOVED the house and all the "extras". We had everything we needed in the kitchen and around the house. We were 3 sisters and spouses and are from the N. iowa area so it is always fun to reaquaint ourselves with the area. Thanks Myron and Family. We will be back.

A perfect retreat home
From the moment we walked in to a welcome basket of goodies to the morning we left it was as though we were staying at a friend’s home. The house was immaculate, gorgeous and full of adventure (antiques and collectibles everywhere!). Our favorite time, at home, is porch time and the Clausen house was a perfect place to be. Large enough we all could gather. All 5 bedrooms were spacious and tastefully furnished. Inside and outside this is a grand vacation spot, one that I will certainly recommend to our friends.

Beautiful place to stay, our group loved it!
We had five couples stay for four nights and everyone loved the property.
Each couple had a large bedroom and there is plenty of other rooms to spread out and spend time together.
We spent time in the mornings on the front porch and evenings around the kitchen.
The home still looks like it did in the late 1800’s but the remolding makes it feel modern.
Most of us walked around downtown, to the Surf Ballroom and the OP for pizza.
We look forward to coming back soon!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Clausen House with 14 family and friends for our Clear Lake, Iowa wedding. Fun interaction with wonderful host and could not have been more pleased with the friendliness, cleanliness and historical beautification!!!

Very accommodating with everything you possibly need in both the kitchen and bathrooms.
The property is a unique place to stay with all the history and antiques in the house. Very nice location, close enough to the beach, downtown and grocery store if you need to shop. Nice size yard to play outdoor games, with a great fire pit. Overall great place to stay with a great host.

Historic retreat
The property is unique in its size and location. Our family members all had beds and we were only 1 block from town and 5 from the lake. Ots of yard space for games and a lovely firepit.

Neat house with great location!
The house was perfect for 5 families staying together. It was nice to have a crib already there. The location was quick to walk to the beach and there are festivals every Thursday night.

Very Historic
Great house, very historic. This was a great house. It was great to see the history of the home and the restoration. It would be nice to have a better space outside to gather. Location was great however teenagers hung out every night across the street playing very loud thumping music. Overall was very happy with the place and had a very pleasant stay.

The property was great, interesting in its own right! Spacious, extra towels, a lot of "extras". Several of the folks there said they would use it for family gatherings, etc.

Perfect Getaway Home!
We were thrilled with the local, the cleanliness, and the interactions with the owners of the Clausen House. They have thought of everything that would be needed when staying there! The antiques throughout the home were both beautiful and fascinating! There were so many small touches of thoughtfulness throughout the house. (Extra toothbrushes, plenty of soap, towels, and paper towels, etc.)
We did our own cooking, and had every utensil necessary! Amazing kitchen!
Loved the Living rooms for gathering, and the large dining table where everyone can sit. Beds were clean and comfortable.!
We walked to the beach in the mornings, enjoyed the screened in porch in the afternoons and the evenings, and the fire pit at night was great!
I highly recommend this VRBO rental!

We enjoyed our stay in Clear Lake and loved our stay at the Clausen home. The home is beautifully restored, very clean, and very large. It accomodated all of our needs and is very close to the Lake and downtown. We can't wait to come back next year!

Grand Old House
What a wonderful treasure for the city of Clear Lake. This old home has an interesting and well documented history that began in the late 19th century. For a large home it was warm, inviting was well suited for our large group. I still can’t believe the interior beauty of the house and how well maintained it has remained through the ages. We Felt Right at Home!
My six sisters and I spent a week in this lovely home plus we had other family members and friends stop in for visits during the week. The house had everything we could have possibly needed. It is spacious enough for big groups to be together, but also has private, quiet bedrooms and spaces to accommodate sisters with very different sleeping habits. The home was well-stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies, plentiful towels, comfy beds, and conveniently located bathrooms. It was great to have a laundry for my out of state sisters. We cooked every single day we were there in the large kitchen and often all seven of us were in there at the same time with room to spare! The weather wasn’t great, but the screened porch was delightful the two days we could use it. We didn’t get to use the fire pit or grill because of rain unfortunately. Staying in the Clausen House is like living in a very clean, comfortable, and homey museum. The location was perfect! We were within walking distance of the Surf, the lake, Central Gardens, and downtown. I highly recommend this rental. You will not be disappointed.

Family reunion cousins
This property comes with everything you need except food and drinks. It is clean and well maintained. It is in walking distance of the lake, city park, brewery, and grocery store. We where in Clear Lake for a family reunion three of our children and their kids stayed with us, everyone enjoyed the house and all the treasures that are there to explore. The basement is a real treat for those who werenot too scared to go downstairs, you need to see it yourself to appreciate it. Some of our grandchildren thought it was a little creepy at first but they were OK after the first day. If you are in Clear Lake and need a place for a large group to stay this house is the place to stay. The screened in porch was probably everyones favorite place for coffee in the morning to wine in the afternoon.

Annual Getaway
Five of us, all retired teachers, from Des Moines, Dubuque, Mason City, Centerville, and Detroit, have been friends for over 30 years. We loved Clausen House, especially that marvelous front porch! The house was comfortable and inviting to just hang around and catch up and talk and laugh. Jayne was so good to answer all the questions! Everything we needed was provided, Truly delightful experience!!!
