Great value for money spent. Funky neighbourhood. Great decks (2) facing right onto harbour. Furnished in rather bland way but comfortable. Two small bathrooms for 4 moderate-sized double rooms (and only 1 for 3 bedrooms on upper floor) may be less utility for some (i.e. independent couples) than others (families). Keep in mind that the harbour is a working harbour such that a peaceful seat on the deck, a la Caribbean, is not entirely realistic due to trucks, dozers, workers etc., all doing their daily routine relatively nearby. Easy walk to town and easy access to (at times harrowing) East Coast trail to top of Signal Hill. All said and done, I enjoyed my stay there solo and even for n=1 value was good and for n=8 it would be great value.

My husband and I have rented many properties over the years and this was the best. The property is exactly as described and other reviewers have noted. Right on the harbour and the views were fantastic. With a car, we were close to everything. I was most impressed that there were plenty of extra towels, extra t-towels, lots of hot water and space to relax after visiting. The place is extremely well kept. Lots of great pots and pans, dishes and glasses. Having bought a few groceries, we were disappointed not to have bought some plastic bags to wrap the left-over cheese in after lunch. Later we found in the bottom drawer, Saran Wrap, aluminum foil and even parchment paper. Thank you Rochelle. We were there during Hurricane Larry. We appreciated Rochelle phoning to ensure we had everything and to tell us that there was a flashlight. We would never have bothered to look for it, if she had not mentioned. The coffee was great, too. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would recommend this cottage to all.

The dogberry cottage was the perfect place for our group of friends to stay while visiting newfoundland. There was 7 of us in total and more than enough room. The cottage is kept immaculately clean and offers excellent views of the harbor. The host Rochelle is overly accommodating and very friendly. I would highly recommend the dogberry cottage, I know we'll be back! John

Beautiful home, great location, plenty of room to park, this house has everything you need to stay a week or two, beautiful view of the harbor.

We had one day of inclement weather and then 3 days of sunshine. All in all, a great visit.

We loved the location of this property. Within walking distance to a lot of the places we wanted to go to and the view of the harbour at night is breath taking. There was 7 of us at this rental so the 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms was great. Bedding and beds are nice and cozy! Nice clean place to hang out.

This was a fun, well appointed and comfortable spot to stay. Close to hikes but a little ways from downtown. Could walk, but it is about 1/2 hour. We liked the view of the harbour, always something going on. Would recommend for those who want something a little different.

Loved our stay, location was great, easy walk to downtown and the Battery Cafe was just a 5 minute walk, Signal Hill trails were just outside our door. Home was clean and cosy, loved it!

Home was very clean, comfortable, modern. Great view of harbor from spacious sunny deck. We enjoyed seeing and hearing the supply ships slowly cruise in and out. Nice residential location with hiking trails around signal hill area just a 10 minute walk away. Walk downtown in 10 minutes. I would rent this home again in a heart beat.

We had a girls getaway in St Johns and stayed at this great cottage. There was lots of room for the six of us. The cottage is well equipped with everything you’d need. Location was awesome. The deck overlooking the harbour and boats was fantastic. You can hike signal hill from the back door and also close enough to walk to town and enjoy all St Johns has to offer! Rochelle was very responsive to any questions and check in process simple. Overall a perfect place to stay.

Thank you Rochelle, our stay at Dogberry Cottage during a conference in St. John's was perfect. The location, layout, and modern but cozy decor of the house were all excellent. Thoughtful touches and a fully stocked kitchen including coffee, sugar, etc. made our stay even better. I'll absolutely recommend Dogberry or any of your other Battery rentals to any friends we have visiting St. John's.

The cottage was great. Definitely met our needs. The view of St John's harbour and location were awesome.

Loved our time with this home. The location is great for walking and exploring the city and signal hill. Grocery store , coffee shop and restaurants within walking distance. Suite is very well appointed and had everything we needed. We prepared the majority of meals at home during our trip. Everything was found in great condition/new/maintained. Lots of towels and TV/internet worked well. The deck gets lots of sunshine and has nice view of the harbour

Cottage is spacious, spotless and charming with a well appointed kitchen. Beautiful views from both decks, lovely breezes, track the ships. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck watching the activity on the wharves. The view overlooks a very active, industrial, working dock. The 4 bedrooms and 2 baths were very comfortable for our family of 6 and is located in a fascinating part of town. Easy walk to town, cafes and stores. Highly recommend the Northside trail up or down Signal Hill. Twine Shop in the Battery offers live music on Thursday evenings and make sure you scramble up or down Fort Waldgrave Trail for an "inside look" at how the Battery used to be. No dressers, but plenty of storage drawers under the beds in each room. Lots of hot water for showers and great washer/dryer. Parking for large vehicles can be challenging as the streets in the Battery are narrow, some with sharp turns, including the street where this cottage is located. We got the hang of it and it added to the charm of this unique corner of the world. Would definitely return. A lovely stay.

4 adult siblings who were born in St John's came back together for a visit - one hadn't been back since leaving as a child 53 years ago. Had an absolutely amazing time in St John's and the cottage helped make the visit absolutely perfect! The location is ideal for visiting Signal Hill and hiking North Head trail. Close to downtown. Great boat watching from the deck, living room and the bedrooms.

Great location, view of harbour and city excellent. We were a family of 8 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Only suggestion maybe have lines painted diagonally for parking.

This cottage/property was an absolute GREAT place for our 7 day stay in St. John's. The cottage was spacious and nicely accommodated 8 people. It was clean and stocked with supplies (paper towels, tp, coffee). The outside deck overlooking the harbour was a real plus and was made good use of. The location could not have been better, being a short walk from a wonderful coffee shop, the numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the downtown area and a nice walk/hike from Signal Hill, the upper Battery, Johnson Geo Centre, and Quidi Vidi village/brewery. We were on a family vacation with 11 adults and 4 children in this and another cottage owned by the same party and both places served the needs of our large group. We could not have chosen better accommodations for our family. We thoroughly enjoyed the cottages and the many things we saw and did in St. John's and area. Cheers to a great place and a great trip.

The view of the harbour/downtown could not have better! The ships were directly in front of the outside deck. A short walk to downtown area - 10 minutes. It was nicely decorated and clean. Thank you for a lovely stay to relax in St. John's !
