The very friendly owner met me to hand over the keys and explain how the heating worked etc.

It was perfect all round and would highly recommend. I could not fault anything.

Beautiful comfortable spacious cottage perfectly located for enjoying the Christmas events at Thursford.

Unfortunately the water for the bath and shower was luke warm.

Only stayed for 90 minutes

We struggled to find the property, having walked up and down the street. After telephoning the host she asked 'cant you see the sign?' Instructions received advised 'Continue along the A148 passing the sign post off left to Little Snoring. Just a short distance along you will find the cottage on your right, just past another village sign saying Little Snoring'. For ease of reference this should have read by The Green Man Pub although this may have put some people off. On arrival we were greeted by Mr Mace (handy man) who gave us the keys personally (there is a key safe). He advised that the heating came on for 4 hours on a night and on a morning. It was cold and damp outside and my elderly father was shivering so went to bed at 17.00 hours. After an hour in the cold I rang the host. She advised that I should alter the thermostat on the wall in the hall. I did and nothing happened. Mr Mace arrived and spent 30 minutes in the small boiler cupboard. He reported that the heating was broken and he would be in and out all weekend trying to fix it. Mr Mace then went into the loft and brought down 5 convection heaters, for the three bedroomed property. I advised that this would not heat the house as the bathroom would still be cold, and that the bathroom window comprised of an old wooden frame which did not shut property. I rang and left a voicemail for the host to advise her that we were leaving as we could not enjoy our holiday if cold. I also communicated by text to ensure that she had this information. 'Good evening Pat just wanted to let you know that we have left as my dad was shaking with cold and the heating could not be fixed. Kindest regards' She replied with 'Mr Mace gave u 5 heaters'. I acknowledged this stating that 'the bathrooms and bedrooms were still not heated' and received no reply. I have since contacted Sky Cottages and received no refund.

Location, very clean and comfortable.

Beautiful cottage - so warm and welcoming on our arrival. Perfectly situated for anyone attending the Thursford Xmas Extravaganza. Hosts very approachable and able to help us with anything required.
