Reception staff was really friendly - I got an early check-in, which was amazing. The room size was lovely and the hotel itself is situated in reasonable walking distance to Central Station (If you are walking with heavier luggage from Central Station, be aware that you'll be walking uphill). Overall, the studio I booked was pleasant, with a comfortable bed and plenty of wardrobe space.

In terms of cleanliness and quality of the facilities, it's much more like a decent 3-star hotel, but not more. There was mould in the shower and not all dishes were completely clean - it's like the cleaning staff rushed through the clean and the lack of attention to detail was noticeable. Overall, it was clean enough to be acceptable for budget accommodation - but definitely not for a 4-star hotel. If you want 4-star quality, you are better off to pay a bit more and go somewhere else - e.g. Amora Hotel down the hill. The worst part of my stay was that the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night - which of course would not happen on a regular basis. All the guests went down through the fire escape and waited for 15 min until the firemen came back out. Apparently the sensors are very sensitive - there was no real fire, just some smoke from a microwave. These things do happen and are not in control of the hotel managers, but it impacted my stay and sleep negatively. Good luck to them that it doesn't happen again.

Great location and easily accessible to St Andrews Hospital. Room was a great size. Having a washing machine was a huge bonus.

Access to the main desk was a little difficult as you had to park on the side street and wasn't aware of that when we arrived. Also didn't like how the main entrance door of the room doesn't lock on its own when you leave. I also felt the room we got was a little miss leading to the photos advertised but was happy none the less and it met the needs for our stay.

The staff fixed the Hot Plate and BBQ that weren't working.

Most of the furniture is damaged, my hot plate didn't work and the BBQ in the family area didn't work. The staff did however fix the Hot Plate and the BBQ. Pay TV channels didn't work either. My room smelt of smoke and I was told there were no other rooms available.

VERY VERY dirty. The curtain in main room was covered in food. General dust and dirt in nooks and crannies suggesting cleaning done superficial and the facilities were old and functional, but borderline.

Location is great. I arrived on early flight from overseas and was able to drop off luggage and use pool facilities until room was an available. Staff were really helpful and pleasant

Electric jug was broken but staff provided a new one immediately Remote for air conditioning unit didn’t appear to work. TV remote didn’t work either (probably needed new batteries.

The room had an unpleasant smell to it. The carpet in the bedroom was not clean. I could hear the lift from my room which was very loud and made a clunking sound. Loud enough that it would wake me during the night.

The icebox in the fridge had been frozen up so long the fridge door could not be closed properly. The ice caked on the icebox had visible mould/dirt in it which indicated it had been that way for quite some time. The state of the carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed in some time either. An old, open half consumed packet of sanremo spaghetti was in one of the cupboards, also appearing to have been there for quite some time. Glasses and crockery were not clean and had to be cleaned prior to use. In the bathroom a water was pooling on the floor below the vanity, which when mopped up with towels returned a short time later. We alerted the staff member on duty to this on sunday afternoon. He asked if it would be ok to go and look to check it out to which we agreed. We also asked if we would be able to have additional towels so as to ensure we could mop the water up to use the bathroom while having clean towels to use after shower etc. Upon our return later in the evening the pool of water remained and no additional towels had been provided. The staff member had by this time vacated the property for the day. One of the window winders on the windows (that were open on our arrival) was broken and as such could not close the window at all during the nights stayed. The view out of the window looking directly across a colour steel roof was littered with old cigarette butts and various other old rubbish. Lighting in the room was also very poor. TV would not connect to wifi so only way to watch netflix was to hotspot from my mobile phone. The process of pairing the tv to the hotspot equally as frustrating as the rest of the stay as the network adapter seemed to function only occasionally. We had originally booked to stay a second subsequent weekend at this location but after our initial experience cancelled the second booking and sought alternative accommodation at greater expense to avoid it.

The location was perfect. 15 minute walk to the main bus station, 7 minutes to the central train station and 10 minutes to the ferry terminal. Convenience stores close by. There are some steep hills which are a mission with suitcases but at only a short distance from the train station, it wasn't much of a big deal. The room was a great base with everything needed including a washing machine in the bathroom with 2 sachets of washing powder. Bed comfy. Staff were lovely and very helpful.

A/c did not cool apartment. Bedroom had no airflow & was stuffy. A fan would have made a difference or an open window. Lounge uncomfortable. Dipped in on right side, left side was way to wide & not comfortable. One dining chair legs were uneven. Both are not suitable for wide shaped behinds. The curled edge dug into thighs. The shower had dried shampoo left on walls from previous person/s. The double doors to washing machine was totally grubby & not wiped over. Coffee machine was dusty & I decided not to use it. The smaller pan was rusty. I asked for it to be replaced & it was replaced with a buckled base that would not allow even cooking, so I didn't bother cooking with it after all. A wooden spoon & basics like extra tea towel, dishwashing liquid, foil, glad wrap etc would have been great.

Location was ideal for train travel and access to the city

Pretty good location for the central station, value for money is good room could do with updating hut served it purpose and all in all a nice stay. Would stay here again

The room had a homely feel with tasteful decorating. It didn’t have that cold, tasteless, uniform look that hotel rooms often have. I loved its vibe and everything needed was there. The lounge chairs were reclining, the kitchen well appointed with a funky look and top end utilities including a Nespresso coffee maker. The ensuite was really nice and clean. There were windows around the entire unit so the natural lighting was lovely with great views of the city. It was close enough to the city to walk there.
