Location was poor, no parking other than a NCP arrangement for an extra £35 The 'lounge bar' where one might have a light snack, was laid out such that one noisy group could (and did, in our case) be heard throughout the lounge. It was not fit for purpose. The menu of hot snacks was very limited.

Air con wasn’t working, room was red hot (hotel reception did provide a fan for the room).

The only thing that wasn’t good was that I booked a twin room for myself and my son and this was on my booking, but when we went in the room there was no bedding for my sons bed. I did call reception and it was sorted it.

Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, when we checked in and out as well as ordering taxis for us. The room was excellent as an accessible room, lots of room to move about and handles in the bathroom

Breakfast was a very poor quality, bacon was solid each day and I think had been left on display for a couple of hours. Knives and forks had not been washed properly either. Staff did not engage with the guests at breakfast and at no time were our room numbers taken to ensure that we were entitled to breakfast

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and there was a nice atmosphere in the eating area. The staff we met were lovely and friendly and helped us out when we asked. The room was spotless and perfect for what we needed.

Tomatoes need a little more cooking bacon quite hard.

Great location as we were spending our time in York city only, everything we needed was in walking distance.

The breakfast room did get very busy, as expected ( we were told this on arrival and, I believe it mentions this on the information sheet) but, friends that we were with could not get a table and had to carry their breakfast through the lobby to the bar area and eat their meal there ☹

Good location, easy walk to all main visitor attractions and sites. Easy check in and check out and nice breakfast with lots of options available. Family room was large enough. Good soundproofing, clean bathroom.

Hallway on ground floor had a damp, musty, wet carpet smell but no obvious sign of where it was coming from. Smell did not go in to the rooms so once inside it was fine. Carpets looked clean but when picking something off the floor there was alot of dust and fluff etc which should have been picked up easily by a decent vacuum. Also noticed some dried blood on one of the curtains the following morning when opening them (reported to reception who said they would get it seen to immediately).

Located 10 minutes from the centre. Staff are lovely. Rooms are lovely and clean.

The beds were a bit too hard for us. But you can’t please everyone with everything.

The room was great, super spacious and the bed was a really decent size as well as comfortable. It was easy to get to on foot from the train station.

Terrible breakfast - the worst I’ve had in a very long time (in a hotel) Had a drink at the bar and asked them to put it on my bill was told quite frostily that I had to pay a £50 deposit - what the heck is that about?? Huge pile of mattresses in the lobby - is there nowhere else to store them? No rear entrance to the hotel if you are walking from the station you have to walk all the way round the block - v inconvenient
