I very much liked this resort and will return. So much to appreciate. I felt very comfortable there. First the staff, Denise and her team were very efficient friendly and helpful. Nice cafe on site, good varied menu, served nicely, cooked fresh, tasty. Open 7am until 8.30pm. Breakfasts are good, especially if you order something with the homemade cottage cheese, chicken liver pate and blue berry jam with brown toasted when bread! Yummieee. My room was very pleasant, quiet, nicely decorated, fresh and clean, comfortable double bed, effective and quiet aircon, en-suite shower room which is modern, clean and works well, but I couldn’t get warm/hot water for my shower. If you want a quiet place, away from Alona but within a short ride then this is a place to consider. Highly rated.

Watch out for the tuk tuk drivers, they wanted 150 pesos for 100 pesos ride for same distance to Alona area from other resorts. Confirm the price before you ride. The resort is off the main road, maybe some 200/250 metres down an unmade track, which I walked without any difficulty. But again beware the tuk2 and habel2 drivers, some of whom drop you at the main road, saying the track is too rough for their tyres, which it is not. Again before you ride get them to agree they will take you down the track and drop off right outside the resort.

Equipment is extraordinary，especially the brand of air condition is sumsung，which is new and quiet. I can sleep very well because of quiet environment. Main road is so noisy，but I can only hear dog and cocks's voice. The Garden is extremely beautiful，swimming pool is large enough，but there's no mosquito to bother me. The hosts is extremely helpful and nice.My English is not so fluently, hosts spoke to me slowly several times in order made me understood, I am.worried about no quilt in phipippine ususally，She give a Blanket to me, which.prevent me get cold under A.C. When I had a stomach ill，Claudia suggested me drink hot lemon water and made it for me; When I can not eat Raw & cold food which is common in Philippine，She made Boiled Vegetables Soup for me in 6am，Which means she get up at 5.am for me，to made me catch the cabilao diving tour. Her husband is also nice，he is so strong because he do gym everyday maximum 1 hour. He borrow a foam roller to me，to decrease my back ache. The price of laundry is really a bargin，100p/Kg，I am astonished. In a word，Selectum Mangrove resort is a family resort you would not like to miss in your hololidy！

A little far away to Alona Beach，where is my diving Shopping to leave for diving tour，But hosts will help you to call a tutu（tricycle），it is affordable，150p.

Calm and peaceful location but easy and very cheap access to beaches and town. The resort is run by the owners - a warm and friendly European couple who have taken great pains to create an environmentally friendly property meeting the needs of those wanting a relaxed and quite environment that is within easy access (5 minute request and very cheap transport). Healthy and reasonably priced food made to order. Three very friendly dogs and one shy but well intentioned cat are part of the management team. Highly recommended.

The hosts at Selectum Mangrove are so helpful and kind - they made a great effort to help us organise day trips and ensured we had everything we needed. The rooms are also clean and modern, and the pool area and surrounding garden are beautiful. Would recommend to anyone!

Such an amazing hotel and hosts! Everything was so clean and well laid out. We would have extended our stay here if we hadn’t already book flights to another island. We can’t wait to come back next year!

There was nothing we didn’t like!!

I arrived to the hotel straight from a hospital, and it was clear I couldn’t have found a better place where to recover from dengue fever. The owners and the staff were always warm and friendly and made everything to make my stay as good as possible. They even brought me medicine from the pharmacy when I was too weak to go there by myself and made me papaya leaf juice. My room was clean, bed comfortable, pillows good and AC was working perfectly. Garden is beautiful, well kept and full of beautiful details. And I just loved the pool! Neighborhood is quiet, perfect for relaxing, I got the best night sleep I had in Philippines.The hotel is only 5 minutes from Alona with a scooter or tricycle. There are also restaurants in walking distance but there’s no need to leave the hotel because they also cook delicious food there! I had the best shrimp pasta and really enjoyed their fitness breakfast with fresh fruits (after I got my appetite back). Thank you all so much for taking such a good care of me!

I didn’t like I had to leave when I finally started to feel better after dengue fever.

We had a wonderful stay with Sorina and Mihai. They are fantastic hosts, are there to help and advise, give lots of tips and we spent lovely evenings with them. Many thanks for that! The two recommended great restaurants and are happy to help organize excursions. We were also treated to the papaya and mangoes growing in the garden, homemade mango jam and tiramisu. They are also happy to give tips for unusual undertakings, away from the usual tourist tours. For example, we were shooting nearby and had a lot of fun! The rooms are very nice, well equipped and very clean. We also did not have any insects in the room. In general, everything is very well maintained and clean. The air conditioning works very well, the water pressure is great and there is hot water. The wifi was the best we had in the Philippines! The staff is very accommodating and friendly. And it is very safe, a security comes in the evening. The pool is great, a real oasis of well-being, and big enough to swim real laps. In the evening you can watch fireflies. There is also a well-equipped fitness area (dumbbells, barbells, TRX bands, etc.). If you feel like it, you can join Mihai's morning workout, sort of a personal training. The food is fantastic! Be sure to try the pasta and pancakes. Alona Beach is about 5 minutes away by scooter. We would come back anytime and can heartily recommend the accommodation.

We were staying for five night and felt very welcomed. The hosts are taking care of you and always check if you need something. They also organised cabs/tours/ferrytickets for us and made sure that everything went well. I can highly recommend to eat food there if you feel like staying in the Resort. I would recommend to stay here :)

Boutique hotel feel with staff who act like family. Extremely clean rooms with tvs, great water pressure and hot water in the showers, cute little sitting area for each of the rooms. The pool is perfect. Quiet and peaceful next to the mangroves. We loved our stay and even ended up extending an additional night! The owners are an amazing couple who will call a tricycle for you whenever you need and will serve you fresh fruit from the garden. We would end up talking with them each night about their lives and ours. Even served us delicious Romanian liqueur 👏🏻 Amazing hospitality and we will 100% stay here if we’re in Panglao again!

The rooms are cleaned every day (you can ask not to if you feel you want more privacy), the food is home cooked (recommend the chicken schnitzel), the staff is super friendly and the owners are super hospitable and always happy to make your stay more comfortable, all you need to do is ask. There's gym gear (just ask, it's not always out), there can be music (again, just ask), there are sun loungers, the pool is lovely, there is food and there are drinks. You want different options, the owners are always happy to guide you to the best restaurants. Moreover, they can book transport for you, help you rent a scooter or book guided tours. The location is a 10-minute walk away from the beach, and you want to reach Alona Beach it's a 25-minute walk or 5 minutes in the tricycle. Sorina and Mihai were super lovely, and we loved to stay at their resort.

- Sorina, her husband & her team are very nice & accommodating. We have rented a motorcycle onsite and found the price fair given there is no hassle involved of pickup/return (incl. walks or bycycle rides). Sorina was also kind to organise a trycycle for us to the port at 6.45am in the morning which was very much appreciated. - nice pool area. You can see fireflies :-) - rooms are big & comfortable. Room is cleaned everyday.

The host are friendly and kind as well as the staffs. My room and the facility was very clean. I 100 percent recommend this hotel.

We loved everything! Starting with the lovely couple who built and created this beautiful corner, down to the smallest details. There is nothing they haven't thought of. We felt in a five-star intimate and magical hotel. The garden is perfect! It's just magical. The food is delicious! Anything you order is 🎯 The room is beautiful, So comfortable bed, the air conditioner is quiet, everything works perfectly: the electricity, the shower, the TV. Simply wow ‼️‼️‼️

Sorina, Michael and their staff have created a friendly and peaceful resort in a quiet spot just outside of Alona Beach (less than 5 mins in a tuk-tuk from the beach strip - which they can book for you). You are welcomed on arrival with a drink and fresh fruits from their gardens. They have a fantastic mango tree (and on a windless evening is you can spot the fireflies that come from the nearby mangroves). Everything was spotless and we found the rooms to be quiet and well thought through with small touches which are very much appreciated such as fly screens and drying racks outside rooms. If there is anything you need then Sorina, Michael and their staff will not hesitate to take care of it and this includes excellent recommendations from Sorina on what to do and where to go. They can also arrange for you to hire a car or a scooter as they have both. The food was good too with particular recommendations for the pancakes and Michael’s carbonara. Excellent value all round, we really enjoyed our stay. We initially only booked for two nights and loved it so much we decided to extend for a further three. Would not hesitate to book again.

Beautiful, serene and super clean hotel with the nicest owners and staff. They went above and beyond helping us, as we had some trouble on our flights to the Philippines. But once we arrived at Selectum Mangrove, our holiday finally began. Excellent, quiet and relaxing location, beautiful gardens and pool, clean and comfortable rooms, great food (my daughter highly recommends pancakes ;)) and lovely, lovely staff. Thank you so much for making our holiday great!

Nothing, everything was better than we could have hoped

The rooms are comfortable and very clean, they have a fan and AC which is unique as I find AC dries my throat out sometimes. The beds are perfectly comfortable, there is a good size swimming pool and the garden is done really well which makes it a pleasant place to sit. Overall the staff are friendly and kind. We arrived with stomach illness (from somewhere else) but the team looked after us, gave us medicine and helped us get well.

The food was a little expensive. But the accommodation is very reasonably priced so I guess it makes sense and is why this isn't a big problem.

The owners are super sweet and organize anything for you(e.g. scotter, trips or Transport). The place is impeccable, really clean and well maintained. The food is really good too.

Location is a bit outside and you can only access via a dirt road but there are trycyles or scotters for you.

Super for working for there. Video calls are perfectly working. The owners are super friendly and help whenever they can. Nice garden area to relax. Scooter is recommend as it’s a bit outside.

Excellent hotel with with attentive and welcoming owners, the hotel was very clean and a pleasant place to be, a lovely pool and good food. A 5 minute motorbike ride from Alona beach, the owners arranged a moped for us at a very reasonable rate and the resort is a good distance away from the hustle and bustle giving you a peaceful nights rest. The owners also went out of their way to arrange diving for us aswell which was also excellent (Alona Divers)
