The room exceeded our expectations. It was impeccable ant it includes all the amenities you might need, the linen was clean; everything is in mint condition. We would totally come back but the threshold in the bathroom needs to be little higher, the water comes out of the shower making it dangerous for customers.

We have stayed in this neighborhood several times but this was first time with Royal Sonesta. Overall it was a really good experience. Super clean, awesome art. Friendly staff and excellent housekeeping. We didn't use the restaruant so cannot speak to that. Easy walking to theatre district and Michigan ave. Would be an amazing location during warmer weather to use river walk. The bathroom was large and clean, although the shower only had one of those overhead/rain showerheads- no additional wall showerhead and no way to increase pressure- so plan on extra time to rinse if you have longer/thicker hair:)

We really loved the room. It’s was a great room for a great price. The location is ideal, it was located directly in the middle of everyplace we had to go to.

This is my second stay in a row at this hotel, and I’m certain it will be my choice again whenever I’m in Chicago.
The location is unbeatable, the views are stunning, and the rooms are impeccable. Highly recommended!

They did not leave extra toilet paper in the bathroom. I called when ran out of it but they didn’t bring it until we checked out. The service was somewhat to be improved.

Clean and decorated nicely. Comfortable bed. Shower stall very narrow. 4 people in our room reservation and only 3 bath towels which is typical and not a problem expect I requested an additional towel two times (at night and then the following morning) and never received it. Nice hotel but don’t expect assistance from front desk.

Asked about early check in. They said they had rooms available. Started process and then was made aware there was a $50 charge for early check in. If the rooms are sitting there empty and I can check in in 3-4 hours with no charge why not just check us in early without an additional charge?

I really enjoyed my stay. The front desk staff was super friendly and the hotel is very clean and updated but still has a lot of charm- I loved the furnishings! Additionally, I loved the toiletries but they only provided one set of bar soap/lotion (I stayed for three days) so be aware.

They didn't respect any promotion even that we call to make sure the offer was eligible for us. And they said that i will be , but when we show up, they said they didn't have a clue about, the offer email that they sent to us

My fiancé and I arrived here for a very much needed vacation. We arrived early before check in time and Victoria at the front desk was very friendly, allowed us to check in before time and upgraded our room.

Very nice stay in connection to running the Chicago Marathon. Very near the start and finish of that marathon which is a big plus. Snacks provided by the hotel on the morning of the race was also a very nive and appreciated touch. Room spacious and amazing view to the river. Then why only 4 stars instead of 5? Two reasons for that: In the room there is a coffeemaker…but nothing for teadrinkers. I have never stayed in a hotel where there have only been one option and not the other. Being a teadrinker and not a coffedrinker, this is a letdown. We stayed in 1201 which is right next to the elevator, like right next to. The dings of the elevator were very loud, and were impossible not to notice, both awake and during the night.

Especially, the two bed room is spacious. My parents loved the room, so we cancel other accomodations and make another reservation at the Royal Sonesta Shicago Downtown.

Enjoyable stay. Visiting one of my daughters who recently moved to Chicago. Did the architecture tour which was great as well as Cubs and Bears game! The hotel was very convenient for my visit.

The location is perfect and not to mention the view of the river and bridges! Of all the the hotels close to the river you have the best view. Close to restaurants and breakfast spots.Very good room, very happy guests.

This updated hotel is beautiful and centrally located across the river walk and a very short walking distance from Michigan Avenue. I've stayed twice and will do so again!

We stayed at this hotel primarily because of its location. However I had no idea how beautiful it be. We booked a room with the river view and it did not disappoint. The room itself was nice and very clean. Everything is within walking distance, we rented a car but only used it to get to and back from the airport. I highly recommend this hotel.

We booked a Riverview room and were blown away by the amazing view. Also, this hotel is very convenient to so many points of interest, shopping, restaurants, and most importantly, the river walk. Our only issues were the cars doing donuts EVERY night at the corner at around 2:00 am and the very strong weed smell that was all over the hotel. We aren’t prudes by any means, but it smelled like skunk weed. Gross.
