The lady who checked us out was cold. She made me pay for my and the kids' breakfast even though we didn't go to the buffet on the 2nd morning. (The buffet staff scanned my room card on the first day, we didn't go on the 2nd day, so my room card wasn't scanned, she should have the records)
When we checked in, the front desk strongly recommended the breakfast package, I said sure I will try it. We went to the buffet on the first morning. The breakfast was not good, but it was expensive compared to other hotels. They didn't tell me that I had to call and cancel the breakfast if I didn’t want it on the second day. The other hotels I have stayed only charge if we went to the breakfast. I am very disappointed.

Had a junior suite, the lounge and especially the staff in the lounge (Tina and ?) are amazing! Food is of good quality, location is nice, limo and laundry service are superb. The suite service made it a real Ritz Carlton experience.

I have stayed at the Portman hotel regularly on business trip to Shanghai. It is a great hotel with large room. Good breakfast and excellent pool and gym. Well located for downtown Shanghai.

Liked: room is ok, very good breakfast, internal and external swimming pool, gym.
Not liked much: rooms are a bit old and need some upgrade, not enough free power plugs, room light is insufficient.

Portman is at a stone throw from the most intriguing life of Shanghai . It’s very walkable if you want to explore Shanghai and there are so many options for shopping and dining from luxury to affordable, from international brands to local boutique.
Staff at Portman are so nice and they go out of their way to make everyone feel at home.

I stayed in this Ritz many times since 2017. The property is a little bit old right now. It feels like there hasn't been any renovation since 2017. They need to spend more in CAPEX to maintain the building.
The service is as good as before. Lounge food and coffee are average.

The Ritz are consistently great hotels. The suite we had was extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel is basically spotless inside and out. The bar lounge is elegant and well staffed. Breakfast and lunch buffets are out of this world in terms of variety service and cleanliness. We enjoyed the service and food daily with no regrets. Our advice might be to download a taxi app to help get a cab to return at night because they all work that way now. Great hotel. Classy staff and management. Everyone knows their part and performs to perfection. Stay here.

The hotel is excellent: comfortable room, careful personnel, fast elevator, well located (600m from metro stop Jin'an Temple; in the middle of the stopping area; nice bars and restaurants nearby).
Highlight: the indoor and outdoor pool (almost unique feature in Shanghai).

Great service! I really enjoyed my business trip there. The staff are very nice. The doorman named Mike was extremely helpful. He ordered a cab for me using his own points to put me to the front of the queue because I was running late for my flight. I was really grateful.it was a very enjoyable stay and I highly recommend it.

My wife and i stay every several months, and we love to return to the Jing An area. Breakfast is a great finish!
