We have been coming to this location for many years now and always have a great time. It's large, multiple cooking areas and plenty of refrigerator space. Great for groups.

This our second stay with four families that have gathered for the last 33 years! Nice place for large groups. Very clean!! Played many hours of games at the large table!!! Went into town and visited a few breweries and had a nice time. Thank you!

The Red Barn was the perfect place for our family holiday gathering. Plenty of room in every regard, fully stocked kitchen and the oversized refrigerators and freezer were ideal for us! All the beds were comfortable and wonderful sized bathrooms. The snowstorm was an added bonus for us to play our reindeer games but we definitely would like to experience the red barn in the summer too! Huge Thanks to Paige and Jamie for all their assistance in our minor matters and the snow plow guy for clearing out the lot for parking!!

My family utilized the barn for our thanksgiving celebration and it was perfect! Lots of space for the family and to set up all our snacks! The kids had plenty of place to run and play!

Extraordinarily, unique, beautiful barn remodel! Visible, rustic structure, large living area w/natural light, dining for 20+, well-equipped kitchen (but no large stockpot). From previous reviews, oven rack issue is fixed & new coffee maker is fine. All bedrooms are up or down; I worried about our youngest (1) or oldest (85) taking a spill on the thick hardwood stairs, but with solid railings & posts, no one did. Master suite is remodeled hay loft open to the living area; master bath has double sinks and separate tub/shower, beautiful & rustic but not private. You’re last asleep if others are in the living area, & first awake (natural light). Large back deck had seating for ~15; chair cushions were worn but comfortable, and the grass was sparse & parched. Downstairs are three BR’s & a full bath, a den & laundry with 2 W/D’s, and an attached apartment w/two more bedrooms. All beds were very comfortable and linens/towels very clean. AC for the main living & upstairs master wasn’t working properly, and the weather was ~90 so it got VERY warm inside. The owner I reserved with had sold the house and referred me to Jamie with the new corporate owner. When the AC couldn’t be repaired quickly, she got an equitable credit quickly refunded. Also, the key locks should be replaced with electronic deadbolts for easier access & better security. This home is a unique, rustic place to hang out! Be sure to confirm that the AC is fixed, and get a contact you can reach by cell if needed.

We stayed here last year and had an amazing time so when it was time to pick a vacation place this year it was unanimous to go back to "the moose house" Unfortunately the temperatures outside was 90 and the temperature in the house was 85. Clearly it was a miserable nights sleep. We were so uncomfortable. I messaged the owner who didn't respond but the man who lives next door was sent over to look at it. Most of us left for the day and my FIL said 3 more people came to look at the AC. Not a single word was said to us about what was going on. We came home to again, 90 outside and 85 inside the house. I sent another message to the owner, Michael Holmgren, with again no response from him. On the 3rd day of 90 degree temps outside and 85 inside, I messaged Mike again and got a short message back basically saying, "yea, you said it was hot, the AC guys said it was fixed." I asked for at the very least some fans be brought over. A different neighbor came by and was talking about how the previous week's guest set the thermostat so low that it froze the coils and they couldn't fix it but they came back Friday and felt it was good to go. (We had some relatives come by who work in HVAC and they said there were 2 units that were not working and that the size of the units is not big enough or efficient enough for the space they are trying to cool and every time the temp climbs these 2 units are going to continue to struggle and breakdown.) It ruined our vacation.

We have stayed here several times in the past, and it continues to be a wonderful place to gather large groups. There were 12 of us and we fit comfortably and enjoyed the wide open spaces, the decorations and the amenities.

We were able to get our entire family together to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We had our three children with their spouses and our 11 grandchildren from Friday night to Tuesday morning. We loved the country setting and the spacious facility. Went to WI Dells for a day at a water park and to Hartman Creek State Park for a day hiking. Wonderful Big Red Barn was our home away from home and it was GREAT!! With 7 bedrooms, 5 baths, a great deck, wonderful fenced backyard, fire pit - - we could not have asked for more!! Wonderful condition and cleanliness - we loved it!! Thanks to VRBO and Mike H. for this fantastic weekend for the Nyberg family.

Fantastic space for larger groups. Huge kitchen and plenty of space.

Very welcoming. Beautifully decorated. Interesting seeing the basic structure of the barn. Comfortable beds, chairs and sofas. Layout of rooms welcoming for all to meet, socialize. Kitchens useful for several people at a time. We try to have a women s weekend every year. This was an extremely popular place with all of us.

Loved the moose.. only thing is marijauna smell from people that live on property could smell it once in awhile.. otherwise it was PERFECT!

We had a group meeting at The Barn and it was perfect. We had space to conduct meetings but also space to share cooking and eating (and evening activities). Plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms.

Your home is beautiful!!! Our group spent so much time around that large center island and large table!!! We also took a great walk for our door time and also ventured into your local brewery on a Saturday afternoon. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The barn is great. It's flexible and beautiful. Enough beds, enough room, enough bathrooms, etc. It's really great. The only thing I would warn about are the oven racks, they don't quite fit.

I would recommend this property. The property manager/owner, Mike was communicative and friendly. Beautiful place! Accommodated our large group perfectly ! Great location in that Hartman Creek State Park is moments away. Cleanliness score is 3-4/5 because of the kitchen. It's been used heavily. Rack in second kitchen oven didn't fit and there was no replacement, leaving us to place dishes directly on oven floor to bake while the 2nd oven was in use. Bring your own sharp knives for cooking, the ones available are broken and VERY dull. Large group was allowed only one roll of paper towels. Garbage bags and dishwasher soap pods also appeared to be rationed. Second coffee maker broken. Pots and pans heavily used and not that clean. Address on website is incorrect, correct one being County Rd D, NOT Hwy D ; these locations are about 10 min apart from one another.

Overall really enjoyed our stay but I would update/make a comment on a few items. 1. The ovens do not heat up accurately (oven thermometer registered 20-25 degrees lower). Please consider replacing. 2. While the grill worked, you may want to update/clean it prior to each visit. 3. Update what beds are in each room on the website as I believe they slightly differ from the answer you gave me in a prior email. 4. The oven grates are not sized appropriately for the ovens - they actually are a bit short and therefore risk of tipping/falling to the bottoms. Please consider replacing these as well.

Amazing property for a gatherine of multiple families with a large age range of kids

Don’t let the name fool you. The BARN is a very comfortable and civilized place. You’ll have everything you want and need in a building that has great texture and character.

Spent the weekend here with a group of girls and our stay was awesome. We had everything we needed for our large group. The host was super responsive and we had a wonderful time.

A group of 10 high school girlfriends recentlystayed at the barn. We get together at least once a year and have done so for over 30 years!We always look forward to this weekend. We have had some great adventures from South Carolina to Kansas City and many rural Wisconsin and Chicago venues. The barn is a unique building and was fun to visit. The full size moose and eclectic artwork were charming and a treat. The owner allowed early check in (2hrs) and late check out (2hrs) We appreciated that. We encountered a few issues and we shared them with the owner to help future guests. These issues included oven racks that were ill fitting ( our food slid off of the racks becuaes the racks slid out of the ridges int he oven). There was one functioning Mr. Coffee 12 cup which brewed very slowly. The owner replied to my email that he would address these issues for the next guests. On Saturday evening the power went out for 4+ hrs during a storm-absolutely uncontrollable and certainly not the owner's fault. However there was no emergency phone contact for the owner nor someone in the area. All we had was an email address and although I emailed him several times through the VRBO site, we did not hear from him for 3+ hrs. I let him know that there were no flashlights, batteries, candles nor matches to be found. We looked in every single drawer and cupboard. His reply was that usually if/when the power goes out 'they get to him sooner than later' He politley ended the brief convesation with 'enjoy your stay!'. He never checked back to see if the power was restored either that night nor Sunday morning. Thankfully the power was restored after 4+ hours and we were able to eat at 10pm. The barn itself is a fun place to stay but would have been a little tricky to manage without heat, water and electricity for an indefinite period. My complaint is the apathy shown to our predicament. We would have appreciated some direction or a little kindness, an apology or a check back in to be sure we were ok. It wasn't awful but I am grateful there was not a real emergency. I can't help but be reminded that how a person does one thing, they do all things. I'd happily rebook. Next time we'd come with an emergency kit:) . If you book, ask for an emergency contact number and maybe bring a large coffee maker if your group likes to sit around and gab and drink coffee. Definitely ask about the oven racks.

Barn was beautiful & very spacious. We appreciated the toys and games provided for the kids. Few cons though: There were alot of dead flies in the loft tub & shower and stairways. There's a house right on the property as well (not sure if it's also a rented out place). There's also a Festive Food Company right by the barn. So the barn is not as secluded as we thought. If you have small kids playing outside make sure to check them for spiky burrs after! The extra apartment in the basement had a smell to it. Not sure if it was from the company next door, but the smell was much prominent at night. The oven racks sat awkwardly causing it to fall down when we placed food on it. Reached out to owner about extra supplies, but never got a response back. It would have also been nice if owner reached out first about checking in instructions instead of me reaching out day before. So just a small lack of communication. But we really enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend for family get-togethers!

Whole property and around was awesome! We enjoyed our trip! Only thing - there was confusion of various lights switch and subwoofer/speakers + some roof lights did not work. I tried contacting property owner, even though he asked someone to send but no one showed up!

We all had a wonderful time. The Barn was an incredible space for the 10 of us. With the number of bedrooms, we were able to accommodate all. Kitchens are equipped and laid out beautifully. Thank you Mike for the flexibility in checkin time. Managers/cleaning people were very nice. Only issues were the grill..could really use a cleaning. Also, would help to have the rules and instructions by the door, or a note saying where to find them, which included the wifi password. Although it said firewood was supplied, there was very little and what is there would have to be split. We purchased some. Small issues in the scheme of things, really! We had a wonderful time for our annual gathering, and the weather was perfect. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space.

We had a fantastic stay with a ton of family in town. The place is huge with all the amenities you could ask for. 100% would recommend!

Everything we needed was there it is a very nicly renovated space we had more than enough room for my friends and i. A very nice and relaxing weekend i would highly recommend this place for any group gathering.

Amazing place to stay and relax with large groups. Kitchens have everything to prepare meals for large groups. Adequate bathrooms and bedrooms for all types of groups. Deck is amazing. Plenty of parking spaces. The space has large gathering places and space for those that want quiet time away from others. Only note is that the upstairs loft area is very open and doesn’t provide a lot of privacy from the main living area. Whole place is beautifully designed and furnished.

The Barn was just the size we needed for our family gathering. There was room and beds for everyone, a large deck, yard and firepit was enjoyed by the whole family. The Waupaca area has many parks; we enjoyed hiking, biking, boating and swimming.

We loved the cabin. So much space and nicely decorated.
