Unfortunately our "city view" was not at all that, we could see the roof & some other parts of the building, nothing attractive to look at whatsoever. The Hair Dryer didn't work, it died after 30s. The coffee maker didn't work. The ice maker didn't work. We were not given a fully stocked room - no hand soap!?. And the food was expensive & grossly overrated, it was cold & not enjoyable unfortunately. Overall the staff was lovely, but the room /hotel lacked service levels we had previous stays & expected this stay to be even better given that we travelled without pets for once (we always assumed we got crummy rooms due to being in a "pet room"...) overall our stay was disappointing given we paid for a "city view" room in a hotel that seems to pride itself on being better than economy yet lacked basic items/amenities (that it should have had).

I’ve stayed here for years. On my recent stay I found the hotel rooms really needing a spruce up. Carpets and furnishings were dirty, broken fixtures and taps. It was a bit gritty -needs uber cleaning. The towels and sheets were bare and needing to be updated.

I needed to stay near the Alberta Legislature. Chose Matrix. Upset that they tried a $35 Impark parking upcharge that is a spurious, excessive charge as the parking lot is huge and empty.

For what we paid I expected a more luxurious hotel based on pictures and comments. The living room area was very old couches were bagged out and very low to the ground. The bed was also very low and a spring type mattress.
The hotel was very quiet and comfortable tho! Room service only available till 10 on a game night was crazy!

Nice hotel with good downtown location. While we ere there, one elevator got stuck and was out of service making it slow going on the other elevator.

One of the elevators wasn’t working while we stayed here which meant long wait times anytime you were going up or down to the lobby. Otherwise I LOVED the room and the stay! The staff was amazing and super helpful. Check out was smooth as well. Definitely coming back again! When I stayed here they had a promotion for a discounted price per night so I would definitely come back when the price is more reasonable per night!

The hotel was very over priced for the quality of the bed comfort, lumpy pillows, and they smelled. This is a far cry from a 4 star hotel. When we arrived people were stuck on the elevator and the firefighters were there to get them out. Needless to say a long time get up to the 12th floor. When this hotel opened it was nice, but I would not recommend it now as it was not a good value for the price.

Great location theorectically, lots of rhings around and right beside an LRT station to the stadium and arena. But at night, it gets less desirable for the same reasons. And only two elevators for 16 floors made for some longer waits at busy times.

Rooms are a bit outdated and not as clean as I would have hoped for considering the price. Stains on the walls and on some of the window sills. Overall, it was enjoyable and was easy to get to transportation or walk to some really great places to eat.
