quoique un peu bruyant, car nous étions placés à côté des sanitaires communs dont la ventilation faisait beaucoup de bruit ! et les candidats à la douche ont été nombreux ce soir là .... mais bon, c'est une auberge de jeunesse

Historical site that allowed me to learn more about Canada’s legal system. Close to the Ottawa Art Gallery. Easy to walk to most downtown Ottawa locations.

The location is great, the price is good. I found the check-in and check-out very slow (maybe there was just a lot going on or people on the front desk were new), I almost lost my transport due to that. The breakfast was good (bagels were nice). The jail-tour was quite scary (I found it well explained and detailed). Showers were clean.

It was rather noisy, but that can be expected in a hostel.

Die Führung durch das ehemalige Gefängnis war SUPER!!! Die tägliche Sauberkeit war sehr angenehm!! Die extra Toilette und Dusche auf dem Gang sind bei vollbelegtem Schlafsaal sehr angenehm!!! Das Frühstück war ordentlich!!

In meinem Schlafsaal funktionierten in keiner Lampe die USB-Anschlüsse zum Laden des Handys. Es piepste zwar im Handy, aber es lud sich nicht auf. Das Personal sagte daraufhin nur, dass das „manchmal immer so“ sei. Die meist großen Adapter für ausländische Stecker passten schlecht an die Steckfosen, die oft von Heizungsknäufen oder bereits eingesteckten Steckern seitlich blockiert waren. Als meine Powerbank dann auch leer war, kaufte ich mir schlussendlich einen nordamerikanischen Stecker für mein iPhone. Das muss verbessert werden!!

The location was good, as was the experience of staying in this building. Check-in went smoothly, and it was helpful to be able to leave my luggage whilst I walked around Ottawa.

Very small room/cell which was very hot overnight despite the air conditioning. No showers on 9th floor, so used the 8th, but door wouldn't open to provide easy access back to my room. Unfortunately breakfast doesn't start until 7.30, so I missed that.

Le petit-déjeuner était très complet. Le rapport qualité prix était très bon. Il est possible de se rendre au centre-ville rapidement. L'hôtel était propre.

Honestly slay 💅best hostel I’ve ever been to. Most things are extremely clean and the price is worth it.

The single cell room is a bit too small, I’ll probably try the dorm next time. The shower was decent but also a bit small.

Dans l'ensemble le séjour a été correct. L'emplacement est vraiment idéal. - L'emplacement dans le centre - le parking ( attention 20$/ nuits) - l'expérience - la propreté Pour résumer très bien pour une nuit mais pas plus et si vous êtes claustrophobe ne pas y aller.

En ce qui concerne les points négatifs : - il faisait beaucoup trop chaud dans la cellule - La visite de la prison qui n'est faite qu'en anglais alors qu'on nous demande qu'elle langue on parle et que le guide nous a parlé en français juste avant la visite. - Assez bruyant - le petit déjeuner un peu pauvre

Location is convenient to everything. People were diverse, friendly. interesting, kind. There was a very peaceful atmosphere.

The doorlock to my eight-person room on the seventh floor was difficult to operate with my key - and I often reflected that the door itself should simply be removed.

The fresh paint on the walls, the clean linens, the wonderful cafeteria and bagels, and the warmth of that room and the company, the front desk was fantastic. The showers were clean. What else could you ask for?

My door stuck and made a lot of noise opening and closing it, and I really had to force the door open push my full weight against it, which is sort of funny, but prevented me from going to the bathroom at night fear that I might wake somebody up

Das Hostel ist einzigartig in der Architektur, toll ausgestattet und vor allem sauber. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Vor allem die Jail-Tour mit Simon war ein Highlight - sehr zu empfehlen.

The location is great, and the history of the building makes it a unique experience.

a) the beds are not for tall people, I'm 6'4", my feet were dangling out with the end of the mattress pushing into my achilles heels. b) it's noisy, despite all the "shush" and "quiet" signs, another person in an adjacent cell/room was on the phone half the night, additionally my room was close to a bathroom with an open door, and the automated toilet flushes rather loud (why don't they install a swing door for the bathroom ?) c) the duvet cover was freshly washed, but it still had a visible mould stain d) I chose to leave a day early but couldn't get a refund because of me having booked online. I accepted that... but then they had the audacity to ask if I would check out before 11:00, so that they could clean (and possibly re-rent) the room on the day that I still had paid for.

This Hostel felt super comfy and welcoming. The Jail tour is a absolute must for everyone staying!

No plant based milk at breakfast. Maybe they already added that now ;)

-No place to meet more people, if you are solo it sucks -No elevator (!) It was exhusting every time -In peak hour - please clean shower more often -There is no switch to turn on light in shower and one time it turned off in the middle :( -AC in the room is an old one and made SO much noise , in general you can hear floors and ppl walking. But i guess that's cause it was a jail , just be aware if you are sensitive to noise

It was hard to open and close the door to my room.

The tour was fantastic. And Simon the guide was great.

I would have liked if they had some jail gruel to try at breakfast. The breakfast was a good start to the day.
