There is only only one thing that I didn't find to be acceptable: I am an early-riser and have a cup of coffee when I'm at home each morning while I go through my emails, etc. (not a caffeine freak--just love the warm cup each morning). I made coffee in my hotel room each morning before the dining room opened, and enjoyed sitting on my balcony watching the workers very meticulously clean the pool and grounds area. When the coffee pods/sugar packets ran out, the maid said she couldn't give me any more because they only re-stock them every nine days. I was tryng to understand her Spanish, so she may have meant every 7 days.They also didn't supply creamer, powdered or otherwise. I didn't use any of the in-room alcohol, so I was a "cheap date". I had only one cup of coffee a day, so I didn't use the packets exessively...just one a day. For the price I paid to stay there, I would think they would keep the coffee supplied. I am sure there were other visitors who never touched the in-room coffee, so I know they weren't in short supply.

Great experience overall, very kind staff at buffet and Italian restaurant. However there were some issues that disappointed us:
1. We have booked a room with Ocean view. However when checked in, a room with no view was asigned to us. We complained about it, they moved us to another room next day, however brought us lot of trouble as we needed to spend one night in one room and then move, which means unpack and then pack all of our stuff again. Besides all of that, we needed to left room at noon and new room would only be available at 4pm. I definitely dont agree with this policy, as it was not our mistake.
2. Cleaning on second room wasnt very good, we found hairs in the bathroom sink, which didnt give us a good impression.
3. There was a courtain on the shower part, but it seems just to be a temporary solutions as there was partial glass there.
4. We have faced a terrible experience at the Steak House, two different hostess were very rude to us because we didnt know how it worked. Lots of tables available, however they insisted only keeping half of it occupied. For me it doesnt make any sense and even if it does, I really believe there's a polible way to say it.
The woman hostess at Sep. 18th even asked me: dont me speak spanish? When I sai "a litlle bit" she said: that's why you're not understanding how it works.
First of all I didnt know that speaking spanish was mandatory to be there. Very unpolite and made a terrible experience for us.

Horrible experience all around. Would not recommend this property to anyone, especially if traveling with a family. Dirty, no amenities, food with bugs and flies, and full of drunk people.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was amazing but had concerns about cleanliness. I noticed that silverware was placed on tables and several restaurant staff did not change the silverware out when cleaning the tables if it appeared that it was unused.

From the staff who cleaned every square inch to the servers to the greeters to the pool staff they were so courteous and helpful. Oh don’t forget those crazy ‘entertainers’ out by the pool that made everyday hilarious with the games and music and their antics and learning your name! Just fantastic! You are all top notch!

The beach is amazing in the property! No waves at the time we were there. The rooms are a bit outdated and smelled, however, when we requested assistance, a maintenance person came by the room and changed the filter which helped some. The food is really good at the Buffet. We only tried the Japanese restaurant which was pretty good. Tried to go to the steakhouse but the waits are insane! the food at the buffet was great so we went there instead. The hotel should try to work a better system with the restaurants. The entraining team really tries to get things going by the pool during the day. Entertainment at night time is not great... pretty boring I would say. The people that work here are all professional and very nice. We had a great time but do recommend improvement with reservation system with restaurants and working on the smell of the rooms.

This is our 3rd time back to the Riu in Aruba and it has been 5 stars everytime. We brought our girls this time and they now share in the love we have to this wonderful island.

Cons: front desk , Junior was a little rude, he did not explain how to get around the hotel or any of the amenities, I saw others with a map of the hotel we did not get one. I ask for an extension cord and it was not delivered and had to ask again and Junior was rude about it. It was hard to get into some of the speciality restaurants. Rui needs a better system for this. There were some angry people. It should be explained to people at check in that they will be given a pager to be on a wait list. This was not explained to us.

This is not a 5 star hotel - room are old and outdated.
Our room cards would break every day - we almost missed a flight home because of that.
Only restaurant with quality food (Italian) had 10 tables and over 1hr waiting time for the hotel of this size. Other restaurants were average.

We encountered several issues during our stay in the two rooms on the 7th floor. Firstly, our rooms were not available until 4 PM, and there was no one available to help with our luggage or show us to our room. The room had a musty odor, and despite the filter being changed the next morning, it did little to alleviate the problem. This made it difficult to breathe and led to a very uncomfortable night's sleep.
We also faced recurring problems with the room keys: there were four separate incidents involving wrong programming or keys ceasing to work. Additionally, the drinks served at the bars were subpar.
While the restaurants were generally acceptable, we chose to dine elsewhere for two out of the four nights despite having an all-inclusive package. On a positive note, we enjoyed the pool, but preferred the beach.
The staff were mostly friendly, but the check-in process lacked a thorough explanation of available amenities, services, and events. We had to figure these out on our own.
Overall, based on our experience, I would not return to this resort.

The staff was great. The beach was also wonderful, I however disliked that we could never get a beach chair. They were always taken very early by folks placing towels all over.
I traveled with my 5 year old daughter. Our room was horrible, the appearance was like a cheap motel. I didn't want to go through the hassle of going back down to the front desk to complain with a tired kids and all our bags. We had no bell service to assist with bags. So we dealt with the horrible-appearing room. The pillow cases were full size cases on king size pillows, the blanket left in the room was dirty and smelling. The blanket was changed the next day after I complained to house keeping.
I have travelled extensively to multiple hotels including other Rui all inclusive, and this one in Aruba is the worse I have seen in regards to the rooms.

Rooms out dated and musty smell. Air condition couldn’t be properly adjusted with thermostat. Checked it but didn’t fix .Entertainment average at best . First come first serve at specialty restaurants made us leave the property 3 nights even tho we paid for all inclusive . Coffee spilled in hallway . and we called but never was cleaned up . Beautiful view and beach though ! Super loud music until 11 pm.

The hotel is clean and very organized. Not a fan of Italian restaurant. Overall the other restaurants were good. food was great, the service was excellent and the people were friendly. I love the night entertainment. Also a lot of fun at the pool. I would stay at this resort again.

Dress code for eating all meals at the buffet. The entertainment was mediocure. I have stayed at other RIU resorts that were much better (10/10). I would give this one 2/10.

Poor service, no towels in the rooms, air condition not working, restaurants food quality was terrible and unsatisfying, pool was very dirty every single day, very limited entertainment, overall service needs improvement.

Purchased a room with an ocean view room and for 3pm check in. Front desk checked us in at 4 and I was appalled at the site of the room. They gave us the first floor super noisy and the view didn’t have one slither of ocean. In fact the view was a fork lift, a dumpster, and a local sitting on the floor scathing his bare foot. The hotel staff was nice enough to put us in a very nice oceanfront room on the top floor so I appreciate that. However, the beds are extremely uncomfortable, the pillows are small for a child, and the shower pressure was terrible and the water was freezing. I cannot wait to be home and have a normal shower and comfortable bed to sleep in.

We love Aruba and have been multiple times. The Riu was ok but we have stayed at better places. There was nothing that stood out to me as amazing. There were limited restaurants in the all inclusive and you couldn’t make reservations- it was not allowed. The rooms were ok but I was expecting more for the price. They seem outdated but they were clean. The staff was wonderful - super nice. The people at the resort were very friendly- as we have found all over Aruba. The property is in a good location, close to shopping and nightlife. The beach was ok- but in Aruba, I prefer some of the other beaches that are less crowded and more room and space on the beach.
