I’m the middle of the countryside but not too far from a town. Was nice and relaxing

Spacious apartment, good value for money. Had all the kitchen equipment I might need. Host was very friendly. 2 bathrooms with a decent shower in. Self serve continental breakfast was available eventhough I wasn't expecting it. Host was very welcoming, including when I asked if it would be OK if I had a friend to stay over one night or my trip.

There was a sky light in the bedroom with no blind so I had to do a makeshift cover with a towel so that I wasn't awake early. The bathroom door upstairs didn't allow for much privacy as it was more like a screen.

Ollie was a great host, very friendly and eager to provide assistance with places to eat and tourist attractions. The room was very comfortable with a lot of room to spread out.

A little more variety for breakfast but the breakfast room was very clean and the food offered was very fresh.

Oliver contacted us before we arrived and was helpful in giving directions to the property. He was very friendly...an excellent host. Our room was very comfortable and there was a little kitchen, Oliver invited us for breakfast which we didn't expect and asked us to come in for tea in the evening. He couldn't have been more helpful.

There really was nothing we didn't like. Kate's Rest is in a lovely location in the countryside but accessible to Kilkenny City.

We liked the possibility to cook and prepare our own food. Even though a B&B, it gives the vibe of a high quality holiday apartment. Also the room was big, clean and well lit. Oliver is a caring and great host as well.

That the stay was short. I would have loved to stay longer, but work was calling.

Comfortable beds Located in countryside Perfect for groups

We booked a family room that was outstandingly great and fulfilling all our needs. It's a big room which is also equipped with a little kitchen. We could park in front of the house, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and be 15 minutes away from Kilkenny City center. Oliver was a superb host, always paying attention to every detail, and making sure that our stay would be phenomenal. He recommended us a pub where we could enjoy live music.

Breakfast was fairly simple - cereal, toast, croissant, fruit, yoghurt. Oliver, the host, was friendly and accomodating - the room had self-catering facilities, so we hadn't necessarily expected breakfast to be included. Over the Easter weekend the availability of some items was limited.

We would have preferred to have a healthier cereal opton such as muesli, but were not unhappy with what was offered.

The apartment was large and comfortable. The location was nice,

Television didn't work, upstairs was very cold and there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher.

The host Oliver is very kind, we quickly solved a minor problem with the accommodation. The sleeping area is neat and clean, the beds are relatively comfortable

The kitchen is definitely a space that requires additional TLC, a thorough cleaning of dishes and appliances is necessary

Oliver was a great host. Clean comfy rooms, breakfast and a fantastic price. Would recommend and come back again.

Location was outside of town, but was quiet with nice views.

Nothing all was good

Very friendly staff and convenient with our check in. We were running late due to traffic and long drive from Belfast, but even so they contacted us and let us know that they were waiting for us, so no stress. Very pleasant and polite welcome. Cozy atmosphere. Country side environment. Clean rooms, with fresh towels, fridge, hairdryer etc. Parking spot available and location accessible.

Not very good soundproofing. We could hear the chats from the next room through the wall and sometimes we woke up due to a door bang. There were some WiFi problems at first day, but were resolved by the next, so no issue there.

Oliver greeted us on arrival and showed us to our apartment. Ground floor, cosy and spotless. He went through where everything was and how things worked. Breakfast was available if we would like it. Wifi excellent. Endless supply of hot water. Scenery is fabulous. Location is brilliant. Short drive from Kilkenny and motorway. Would highly recommend a stay at Kates Rest. Will definitely be back.

The emergency lighting, but got used to it.

Host was very friendly and helpful. Finding the property and checking in was very easy. Rooms were excellent for our trip, if planning on going away with a family I would definitely recommend.

Cleanliness. Apartment was full of black mold and we saw a mouse/rat and it’s marks in the kitchen. This would need to be improved.

I booked a single room which had a double bed . The room was a good size with large bathroom , and excellent shower . There was lots of storage space . There was a fridge , microwave, kettle and toaster provided , also tea bags and coffee . The room was warm and very comfortable. Oliver was an excellent host , met me on arrival and explained how everything worked. I would recommend Kate’s Rest and would stay there again .

Nothing ! everything was great . if anything , just for travellers who want to be near the city , Kate’s Rest is a 20 minute drive from Kilkenny City , but in a lovely country setting. There is a service station a few minutes drive away with all the essentials that you need .

Oliver was an absolute gentleman. A great host. Couldn't do enough for us. The room was warm, comfortable and spotless. Shower was great and all requisites supplied. Breakfast was served to us in our room and was plentiful and tasty. Overall, a great stay. Highly recommend.
