This property is just as pictured. Lovely old house with scary OMG steep, narrow, dark, and winding stairs. The stairs (which are mentioned in the rental) and the lock up and get out process are the only negatives. Evert our host was delightful and so helpful. He allowed us a early check in on our arrival day which was much appreciated. Bright and comfortable room. Plenty of extra towels and linens. Fans and screens for windows. Coffee, tea, juice, and biscuits also provided. We found the neighborhood to be quiet and central to so much. The Central train station a 10 minute walk. Anne Frank House about 20 minutes. Lots of restaurants and quaint bars. You are on the fringes of the Red Light District so expect some interesting “window shopping “ in the area around the rental.

The location was good. The space was well appointed and very clean. Bathroom well stocked with everything you might need. Coffee and tea with many selections. Lots of clean towels. The owner was lovely and very helpful. Helped us with our luggage and phoned for a cab to the airport for us. Highly recommend staying at the Classy Room 17th Century Canal House. Delightful!

This beautiful room could not have been more perfect for our visit to Amsterdam. Clean, comfortable and filled with old world charm. The location was central to everything and our host went out of his way to make sure we had all we needed. Would absolutely stay again. Thank you Evert!

My wife and I had a terrific stay in Evert’s apartment. In a 3 story building on the second floor of a 400 year old historic property right on the canals close to the train station, Dam Square, and Jordaan. Great restaurants close by. Evert was the perfect host. Had everything you need from shampoo to tour books to adapters for plugs. . Only difficulty would be if someone has issues with stairs. The spiral staircase from the entrance floor is the charm of the building and was really cool, but could pose issues to someone that has issues with stairs. One of the coolest places we have ever stayed.

Great location and short walking distance to Central Station. Evert was very helpful with any questions. He provided ample supplies to make our stay a wonderful experience.

Location was great - within walking distance of the train and plenty of things to do! Would highly recommend and would love to stay again someday!

Wonderful property highly recommended

Our host was considerate and helpful. He went out of his way to accommodate our early arrival and helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations and even assisted with laundry. The space was generous with lots of natural light and numerous reading lamps made for a comfortable and convenient setting. Violin music made the experience even more charming.

Our time in Amsterdam was short but high in adventure. The property was absolutely great! Yes, the stairs were steep but once you get to the top it’s all worth it. We would definitely stay here again.

Communications were excellent and incredibly helpful. If we needed a favor or help, it was graciously provided and readily done. Attention to possible needs was anticipated and provided. A beautiful canal house and an amazing location in the city. Thanks for the biscuits!

Beautifully decorated with period furniture, but with modern conveniences very comfortable. The host was very helpful and welcoming.

Evert is a very, very nice host, we really enjoyed our short trip. The apartment is as described, very clean and equipped with all the necessary things that you need. Fantastische plek, sfeervolle inrichting en uitstekend verzorgd!

We’re a Dutch couple and one of us lives in Amsterdam and the other had lived here for a couple of years as well. We wanted a mini holiday in our own city for my birthday and this house was the perfect place for our weekend! The house is indeed a typical Amsterdam Canal house and the room was exactly as in the pictures. Evert, the owner, is extremely friendly and if you’re lucky you can hear one of his students play the violin.

Uitstekend.

We stayed on two separate occassions within a month. Loved the old canal house. We had a delightful room on the first floor with a fabulous view over the canal. Very spacious, no cooking facilities but a small refrig and tea and coffee making facilities, also some basic cutlery and crockery. It was very private but our accommodating host Evert ensured that he was there to take our suitcases up and down the single flight of stairs on each arrival and departure. The stair is a beautiful old curved timber stair, steep and narrow but with rails on both sides and caused us no issues. The very large room was tastefully furnished and felt very homely. It was cold outside but two panel heaters ensured the space was warm. Very comfortable bed, good bathroom. A short walk to the railway station. If you are after a "character" stay where you can soak up the atmosphere of Amsterdam I would highly recommend the first floor room in Evert's old canal house.

We had such an amazing 3 nights in Amsterdam the house is in the perfect location. The owner is so lovely and done all he could to help us. The room is perfect and is stunning. We took all our toiletries with us but we didn’t need to the owner had thought of everything down to shampoo/talc/shower jel etc. Thank you

We enjoyed our stay at the Classy room 17th Century Canal House. We were on the 2nd floor with a wonderful view of the Single Canal. The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom very spacious. Evert, our host, was very helpful and ordered a cab for us and carried our luggage up and down the steps for us as there is no elevator and the steps are circular. The canal house was within walking distance of the Anne Frank House, Centraal Station, and several excellent cafes, shops, and restaurants. There is a coffee machine as well as electric kettle, small frig, hair dryer and iron.

The location of this apartment is perfect and the home is beautiful. It is also quite spacious, yet cozy.

Host Evert is really nice and thoughtful. Really loved our stay at his place.

Yesteday night i made the check in with a lady (maybe from Corea or China) very stupid person . I would recommend to do not have peaple like rhis without training attending customers.
