Could use some attention to highdust/cobwebs. Windows haven’t been dusted in quite some time but the location made up for this. The back door rail is separating as are bricks creating a potential risk. Comfortable beds.

This home was very accommodating for my handicapped father. Spacious rooms and walkways as well as limited steps allowed him to enjoy a nice vacation in a beautiful town.

The location of this property can't be beat. We could watch the sunset from the sun room, it was directly across the street from beach access and convient to downtown. The home was as described: well equiped kitchen, beds were comfortable and nice and spacious. We enjoyed our stay.

This was a disappointing stay in a charming town with a great location. The house hasn’t been updated in many many years which we knew going in, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so dirty inside. There was so much dust everywhere and the floors were disgusting. The bathrooms had terrible caulking and mold. The sink surfaces looked like they hadn’t been wiped down in quite awhile. I also found a dirty plate from another tenant sitting in another room. The wifi barely worked and was so slow. It was advertised as 2 bathrooms but the second bathroom just had a gross shower in it on the other side of the house not suitable for actually showering. So it was essentially one bathroom. There were also bugs all over the place. Gnats, crickets, spiders, flies. We will absolutely never return to this house, but we loved cape Charles in general. The location was very convenient to the beach which was truly the only saving Grace for this house.

Convenient beach access, sufficient dining space, relaxing sun room, all one floor, adequate climate control, comfortable arrangements. A minor con is no dishwasher, but we have no issues with that. There does seem to be some malfunction with the DVD player, although we did get it to work after continued effort. Bathrooms and kitchen are quite dated but function well, plenty of hot water. We loved our stay in cape Charles. The house was as advertised. It was extremely convenient to get to the beach or downtown. We will book again for sure!

Bay Cottage is a slice of heaven. We’ve never stayed so close to the water. Our group of 6 was comfortable and enjoyed every wonderfully decorated room. We didn’t mind not having a dishwasher and were thankful for the washer/dryer. We’ll be back!

Best beach front house in Cape Charles. Nice and clean house located just across the street from the Beach access and easy walk to everything downtown. House was very clean and neat. Had everything we needed for a great Girl's Weekend. Don't worry about not having a dishwasher you will not miss it trust me. Beds were very comfortable. Will rent again.

This was a cute cottage and perfect for our recent beach trip. It is right across the street from the beach and very convenient to shops and restaurants, which are only three blocks away. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and we enjoyed watching the sun set over the dunes from the front yard.

We had a great time relaxing at Bay Cottage. The cottage was quite a bit more spacious than we thought it would be. Plenty of space for the 4 of us. The sunsets were gorgeous and we had a lot of fun visiting both the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic up and down the peninsula. The Chincoteague Ponies were fun to see. The Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge was one of our favorite places to witness the changing of the tides. And the proximity to Norfolk and surrounding area was very nice as well. Thank you for such a nice place to stay.

Cape Charles is an idyllic location to reconnect with friends and family. The Bay Cottage was amazing and even better than the pictures. It was the perfect spot for 3 old friends, who have been separated by time and distance, to catch up for a few wonderful days. We plan on making this an annual event!

We were looking for a break from ... everything. And we got it. The cottage is charming, practical, and surprisingly roomy. Five of us were totally comfortable, moving in and out of shared and separate spaces. Cape Charles is comfortable and friendly. Off-season was a great time to visit - sedate, quiet, restful. And all the local nature refuges were great places to visit.

Easy to get rented and staying felt like home. Bathroom is small and outdated but had charm. Nice sunroom but some bushes large. No dishwasher but increased family time. Relaxing and enjoyable.

What a pleasant surprise it was! Yes it's the smallest home on the beach but oh so charming! We literally could have packed a few clothes and been done! These owners thought of everything! Towels, sheets, dish soap, laundry detergent, dish towels, extra blankets, movies, .... they even had coffee filters for me! So comfortable, I felt like home! Its bigger then I thought it would be! 7 adults stayed just fine! I love this little house!! Perfect location for the beach access!! We recommend bringing a pop up tent for the patio. It got a bit hot out there.

You cannot beat this wonderful home for location and price! It is across the street from one of the loveliest beaches I have ever been to, perfect for families with little ones, the water is calm and the sand is soft! The home itself is clean and comfortable, the beds are cozy, the kitchen well equipped. Plenty of linens provided. We especially loved the sun room, my niece claimed it as her own personal reading room, a lovely place to watch the sunsets. We couldn't have been happier. If we are ever lucky enough to return to Cape Charles, this is where we will stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Bay Cottage very much. The beach was right across the street. We had to use the fans in the bedrooms in addition to the AC since the temperature was in the upper 90's everyday. That kept the house comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our girls weekend at this property. The proximity to the beach was awesome and the quaint town perfect. I knew that this house didn’t fit the mold of the bigger and fancier homes in town but as soon as I walked in the door it exceeded my expectations. Great spot for family and friends.

very comfortable place: great beds, sufficient dining space for 7 people, adequate air conditioning, fantastic sun room, and terrific location. I had thought the absence of a dishwasher would be a pain, but found that with 5 - 6 people chipping in throughout the day, it wasn't an issue. it's an older house so electric receptacles aren't as plentiful as one might wish. the convenience of a washer/dryer is definitely a plus. very nice bath and bed linens are provided one per person/bed respectively which is convenient. it is tastefully furnished with an eye for comfort. I would definitely stay here again.

While the bedrooms and one bath were OK, and the location was great, there were insects found throughout the home, it appears no one had cleaned or vacuumed under the furniture in any room for months, and one of the two baths was located off the laundry room, far from any bedroom. The kitchen and baths appear to have never been updated. No dishwasher in the home! So, a decent price, but it comes with several major deficiencies and sacrifices that are not spelled out in the ad. We will not rent this house again.

Nice, close to beach and Mason Avenue. Smaller than expected and dated in furnishings. Home had an odor from the moment we walked in and wouldn’t go away.

Loved Bay Cottage! It was perfect for our needs! It was clean and well- equipped. It was in the ideal location- close to beach, town, and marina. Would definitely stay again!
