Beautiful building and outlook!

If you’re looking for a special experience, then this is the place to stay. The venue has hosted many famous people. Located on the side of Richmond Hill, the view from the restaurant is extraordinary and is protected by an Act of Parliament. Lovely quiet location within an easy walk along the river to Richmond. The room was lovely and the staff very professional and helpful. There is lovely common area, and the restaurant is exceptional. If you are looking for a special accommodation, then we highly recommend The Petersham.
I can’t fault the venue, but be aware that the gratuities are built into the bill so there is a built-in gratuity on the restaurant charge and then another voluntary gratuity for the bar staff on the bill (we had breakfast so chose to remove this charge). Other voluntary gratuities include reception and housekeeping, which were both excellent.

Difficult bathroom layout. Small room. Wardrobe is small cupboard. Room £290, charged £350 at check in without any explanation

There was a smell of urine in first room but when I mentioned it to staff they moved me

It was good that we were easily moved to a room with a larger (super king) bed.
All staff were very polite and helpful.
The views fro the property are terrific.
Ample parking.
The landline phone in our room didn’t work. Reception said they would investigate.
Our room was dark, but we were informed about that.

Fabulous room, furnishings and location. Lovely calm atmosphere and excellent bar and restaurant.
Staff are friendly and helpful and facilities and grounds are really good. Amazing views of the Thames.
Reception was slow as the payment system had broken down.

Loved the grounds, the building, the view, the location; staff was friendly; easy to walk the neighborhood and access via public transportation.
The rooms need a refresh, they seemed dated not classic, the carpets were very dirty, wallpaper was peeling, and paint was dirty. Also some more modern/luxury/trendy bath products in the bathroom would make a big difference.

Scenic setting in gorgeous Richmond. Beautiful views from all angles of this iconic property.
We were worried about not having central cooling in the summer but by design the large balconies that opens up to the Thames provided ample cooling during our time.

Lovely hotel, very comfortable and good location. Staff friendly and very helpful.
Bar meals and breakfast good quality but overpriced. £74 for a burger meal and a goats cheese salad. Cooked breakfasts £24 without fruit juice,cereal etc.

Beautifully appointed room. Wonderful location.
The lack of air conditioning meant that the only way to vent the room was by opening a balcony door, so the early deliveries, refuse collection and the Heathrow bound planes meant an early wake up call.
The menu in the restaurant was disappointing as were the bar facilities for a hotel with this reputation.

The outside and inside of the hotel was beautiful. The hotel has a beautiful view of the river and is in a nice, peaceful location. The town of Richmond is quaint, quiet and picturesque. The town centre is not a long walk away from the hotel.
All of the staff were lovely, professional and always willing to help.
The breakfast in the restaurant was great.
We stayed in the tower room, which was an amazing experience. The bathroom and toilet were modern and had heating flooring (this was great as it was very cold). The bedroom had a beautiful view of the river.
The hotel is only about 30 minutes from Heathrow Airport.
Highly recommended, and would love to stay again!
