We highly recommend Maria’s home. It was perfect for us as a spot to visit a family member who had major surgery at a DC hospital. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, details like robes for guests, and of course the fabulous, walkable neighborhood with restaurants, shops and a park. Maria was great to work with as well. Five stars!!

This was our second visit to Maria's home. We immediately felt right at home and were happy to once again be a part of the Del Ray community. The house was spotless and just as advertised. We love the gourmet gas stove in the roomy kitchen/ dining combo. And the updated bathroom was such a nice treat. Our lab enjoyed the yard space and the walks through the neighborhood. Maria was easy to communicate with before and during our stay. You will not regret choosing this home as a bad for visiting northern Virginia and the DC area.

We were back for a 2nd visit to this sweet home away from home. Lovely to see the neighborhood in the springtime. All the conveniences of home are provided in a tidy and charming package. Short walk to the Del Ray shopping and dining district. Well located for any of your other DC needs.

Visiting family in Alexandria and this little home in Del Ray was a perfect home base. Very easy communicating with Maria. Home was tidy and neat. Nice size living and dining areas. Kitchen was very well stocked and a beautiful gas stove. The 2 bedrooms are on the small side as is the bath, but quite adequate for our needs. Lots of hot water. Lovely deck and garden space in the fenced back yard. Dog friendly for our fur baby. And the neighborhood was perfect for walking and enjoying the weather. We hope to return. :) Tip: Grab a coffee and pastry at Junction Bakery. Yummy!

Everything about this townhome was charming and being there was extremely relaxing and peaceful. The home was also very clean and comfortable. The owner was great to work with and quick to answer any questions. The neighborhood is safe, quiet and friendly. We found parking right in front of the house every day of our stay there. The patio and the backyard would have been the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening but it rained several days during our stay so we didn’t have the opportunity to do so. We were in Alexandria to visit family so we ate most meals at their homes but there are many good restaurants in Del Ray and we hope to try take-out from a few next time. We did order burgers from Holy Cow which is a short walk from the house and they were delicious. We enjoyed our stay in Del Ray and we look forward to staying in this lovely townhome again if it is available on our next visit to Alexandria.

With this being my first visit to the DC area, I was absolutely blown away with how amazing the Del Ray area was. There are so many restaurants just a few blocks away. We stayed for 5 days and never are at the same place twice. The house was the perfect home base for our DC adventure. Maria was great to work with and made our trip truly wonderful.

So much better than staying at a hotel in this area. This super clean home is in a very quiet neighborhood and conveniently close to Old Town and Washington DC sights. Maria has everything we needed to make us feel at home.

Awesome communication with host!! Very inviting home in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, and very comfy beds! Close to amazing restaurants and grocery stores. If you have young children, there is a cute playground around the corner. Look forward to staying here again the next time my family and I visit!

Maria was a very thoughtful and attentive host. The home is lovely and kept very clean with great kitchen. It was nice to arrive and find some snacks and beverages. House is in a nice residential neighborhood walking distance to restaurants etc. We enjoyed our stay.

It was a treat to stay in this home - it was comfortable, pleasant, beautifully decorated and has a ton of charm. Maria, the owner, was so wonderful to work with! All the little details of the home tell a beautiful narrative of family, simple living and honoring what is most important in life - human connection. While it might seem a bit overboard to draw such conclusions in a VRBO review, if you stay with her, you'll understand. The kitchen is well appointed, the decor is tasteful and fun, and the home is impeccably clean. Maria was so kind in our few interactions and provided helpful information that enabled us to feel at home. Five stars, for sure!

I was really pleased with our stay. We came to the area to visit Washington DC and were concerned about driving into the city. With a metro station nearby we decided to stay at Maria's home and take the Metro into the city every day and it couldn't have worked out any better. We had a 3 minute drive and parked the car for the day right next to the station and didn't have to worry (or waste time) about traffic, parking, etc. Then at the end of the day we were able to enjoy the comforts of a home and the surrounding neighborhood. The home was in great shape, had everything we needed and we really enjoyed our stay. It worked out great and thank you Maria for the use of your wonderful home and your hospitality!

The house was perfect for our weekend getaway. The neighborhood is so cute, we wished we had another day in our trip just to explore Del Ray and Old Town. Maria was wonderful and checked in on us a couple times to make sure our stay was going well. The house itself was perfect, cozy and clean with everything working well. Her neighbors are also incredibly nice! It was a huge plus that we were able to bring our small dogs. Her fully fenced in garden/yard was perfect for them to step out in without us having to get them all suited up with leashes etc. The subway into the heart of DC is either like a 15 min walk or a $4 UberPool so you can't beat the location. We were a little worried about parking, but we were always able to find a spot either directly in front of the house or just a few houses down. We already told a few people about this property that are planning trips to DC, and when we visit our friends again we hope to stay here again, thank you!!

The property is two-bedroom and one bathroom, located in charming Del Ray, one of the most walkable of DC suburbs. My wife and I and our youngest child spent 11 nights there and really appreciated its location, handy to the mellow restaurants on Mt. Vernon Ave., close to Metro, and, using Capital Bikeshare, close to the bike paths of Alexandria. It was a bit tight when our daughter joined us for one night to spend the night -- the Del Ray houses are quite snug! The landlord was responsive to small issues that came up.

Marie was quick to respond, helpful and flexible. Nice lady.

We were booked for Columbus Day weekend and she cancelled on us last minute. We were forced to stay at a mor expensive place as most places were already booked. Maria said she would make it up to us by allowing us to stay a different weekend at no charge. She is not making good on that promise. Beware.

This is a perfect location for a DC trip. Charming town home in a beautiful neighborhood. Great for walking and cycling. Family friendly. Beautiful backyard garden with deck, seating and a gas grill. Restaurants within walking distance. Great Farmers Market on Saturday morning a few blocks away. Well equipped kitchen to cook. Metro station convenient with parking next to hike and bike trail.

We enjoyed coming home to a safe, clean and comfortable home each day after exploring Washington D.C. Its proximity to a grocery store, playgrounds, pharmacies, cool shops and restaurants made our stay even better. The house was well-provisioned with every kitchen appliance we could hope for! Our family of six just spent the week in Maria's adorable and comfortable townhouse in Alexandria. From the moment we walked in, I felt like I was at home. I could literally feel my body relax. The home is beautiful and extremely well taken care of. I was impressed with how clean everything was (and I'm a clean freak!). Zero complaints here. We were concerned about parking as there isn't a dedicated spot for the townhouse. Maria assured us that parking would not be an issue and she was right. We never had a problem finding a parking spot on the street (same block even), no matter the time that we returned. It was such a relief! We were also impressed with Maria's eagerness to alleviate any concerns we had in advance or during our stay. She went out of her way to solve any issues and make her home fit our family. Our children loved playing in the backyard and we enjoyed meeting the neighbors. Everyone was extremely friendly and kind. Thank you so much for our home away from home!

Enjoyed our stay-house is great and very comfortable

We had a wonderful stay at Maria's home the weekend of June 3rd. The house is lovely- comfy beds, hot shower with great water pressure and so tastefully decorated. The backyard is beautiful and great for relaxing. Maria was very accommodating and even set up an air mattress for our kids to use before we arrived. She was always very quick to respond to my emails and was great to work with. We were in town for a wedding, so we didn't get to sight see very much, but the location is in a great neighborhood with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The house being pet-friendly was also a big plus!

I loved the neighborhood and the location. My step daughter graduated from GW and we drove into DC for 3 separate graduation ceremonies. We compensated for the drive during rush hour and were fortunate enough to have missed any traffic. It was difficult to share 1 bathroom when we had to get ready in the morning but we made it work. The townhouse is an easy walk to all the shops and restaurants on Mt Vernon Ave. Del Ray is very family oriented and a pet friendly community. It has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. The Farmer’s Market early on Saturday and the Dairy Godmother for frozen custard is a must. The backyard is what attracted me to this rental. It has a lovely garden and white lights that turn on in the evening. We had a small family barbecue and there was plenty of room inside and out. Maria was so accommodating I felt like a guest rather than just a renter.

We loved our stay at Maria's home. The place was very cozy and pleasant. The Del Ray neighborhood was great to walk to nearby restaurants. We also felt the walk to the Metro was manageable. You could park your car closer to metro station, but we never did because weather was nice. After long day of sight seeing in DC this was wonderful place to stay. Maria was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again if we return to area. Great farmers market on Saturdays also.

LOVED this neighborhood & charming house!

We thoroughly enjoyed getting to stay in a real, comfortable home in a nice neighborhood convenient to everything. We had to take care of some family matters in Alexandria, my original home town. It was so nice to be able to "retreat" to such a relaxing spot. We liked the pleasant stroll to shops and restaurants, and Maria was such a helpful and gracious hostess.

Our four night stay in Maria's home was a relaxing change for Thanksgiving. A friendly, quiet neighborhood, we enjoyed the lovely town home and exploring the area. Cute restaurants were nearby, and we purchased supplies at the farmers market and nearby groceries for the meals we prepared in the new kitchen! The home is large enough to entertain a few extra friends for a meal or snacks and games, and we enjoyed a movie night, too. Beautiful furnishings, a well appointed kitchen, clean, comfortable, in a safe area, all made for a relaxing weekend. You can find many things to see and do in the DC area, but I cannot recall being able to relax to this extent when in a hotel. We had a great weekend, you should try it for yourself!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The location is great -- about a 20 minute walk to the metro and/or a quick walk to basically everything the quaint town of Del Ray has to offer. The owner, Maria, was also great, very accommodating, and provided us with some amazing "local" knowledge of where to eat/shop, etc. in Del Ray and beyond. The house itself and the property are both fantastic; we really enjoyed the fire pit!
