This property is adorable. The location fantastic. One block down to the cliffs and one block up to shopping and restaurants. My only complaint is that the bed is very hard and uncomfortable. We would definitely stay here again, but I’ll bring a mattress topper.

The rental company added a large security deposit on the day of my arrival to access their cottage; this was not part of original rental agreement. While I made an immediate credit card payment, their return of my deposit took a better part of 10 days and several text before I received their credit. It’s a great location, but I doubt that I’ll use Bluewater rental again.

Quintessential beach bungalow. Ideally located. Steps to all La Jolla has to offer and a great getaway when you’re done doing what you’re doing. Loved it!

Beautiful house close the beach. The property was just as described, clean and well stocked. Walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. Would definitely book again when in the area.

The cottage is in a perfect location close to the ocean and a few steep steps to the village. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies and appliances are excellent with an antique flair. The decor is warm wood tones with bay windows that show off the gorgeous view. The property manager quickly assisted us by correcting the address to the parking garage and we were all set. Air conditioned, cozy and quaint we found ourselves not wanting to leave. We look forward to staying here again.

Close to the ocean and all La Jolla shops and restaurants. The place is also adorable.

What a great location in La Jolla. We could see the water from our window and it was a block to the park. Great walk ability. Will rent again for sure!

Very convenient location. 100 yard walk to the beach and 5 min walk to multiple shops and restaurants. Great property.

This beautiful place was exactly as described and all the great reviews we read before staying here turned out to be accurate. The location is perfect... you're a short walk from the beach with an ocean view and a short walk up the stairs in the opposite direction puts you in the middle of LaJolla with restaurants, shops, an art gallery, and a great beer brewery (Karl Strauss). The unit was very clean and comfortable... perfect for two people but may be tight for more than two. We rented a car, and parking wasn't really a big problem on the street, but access to the parking garage provided with the unit wasn't very straightforward. I understand this was a new thing so hopefully they will get the issues smoothed out. I highly recommend this place and we will be back when we can stay longer!

You are within walking distance to everything, its the perfect size for our family of three. Exactly as described. Would stay here again in a minute.

This house was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). Very clean and well stocked. The view was beautiful. People walking by commented on it and asked about it. It was so nice to be able to walk to the nearby beaches and see the seals. I would definitely stay here again!

Location is amazing and unbeatable. You can enjoy the best of La Jolla in walking distance. The apartment is better suited for a couple or one family. There is one bathroom and the shower is totally open to the bedroom. A dish washer (even if a small one) would be a plus. We enjoyed our stay and would come back.

We loved this cottage! It’s in a convenient location and everything was clean and comfortable. Woke up to ocean sounds every morning! The steam shower and small gas furnace/fireplace were wonderful perks :)

Can't say enough good things about this quaint beach cottage. So close to the seals at La Jolla Cove. I loved how light the cottage is with the sky lights The wood trim inside is beautiful. The bonus is the steam sauna shower and jacuzzi tub. Oh and the vintage appliances are adorable. Highly recommend this cottage for couples. Just a few steps from the beach and shopping, the location doesnt get better.

Very clean and cozy.

The cottage was very comfortable and cozy. The location was perfect! One block from the beach and one block from the main street with a nice coffee shop right around the corner which we visited twice in the short amount of time we were there. There is also an ocean view from the living room and bedroom. We didn't even have to drive anywhere since everything was within walking distance. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We thoroughly enjoyed our ocean view stay at this cozy cottage in La Jolla. Location was fantastic, one block to the ocean, the cove, many restaurants and shopping. The cottage looked newly remodeled, clean, beautifully decorated and had all amenities available and working properly. The bed was very comfortable, the Jacuzzi tub also had two separate shower head options which were extra enjoyable. The new retro style appliances added so much character to the full kitchen; dining area was a perfect gathering place. We're already planning our next stay here. It exceeded our expectations!

Nice property in great location. However, very noisy leaf blowers showed up twice at 7 am - a bummer.

The amenities were great. The steam shower was nice at night. Very clean and located near everything. It was really awesome to wake up to wave sounds.

Great location, steps from ocean, restaurants and shopping. Lovely cottage. Finding street parking can be challenging and assigned parking garage is not so close.

The property was exquisite and the location perfect--one block from the ocean, with a view. We were a family of four (two kids ages ten and twelve) and it was a little tight for us as the one very small bathroom is located off the bedroom. Four people trying to get ready in the mornings was a bit comical. The parking situation (there is no off street parking) was at times a bit inconvenient but overall workable. If you stay here with a car be aware that on bright sunny days at mid-day, when the whole world wants to be at the beach you can forget about finding a parking space on the street. There is a garage nearby, though, and when we found the right one parking rates were pretty reasonable. When we went to San Diego for the day and came back in the evening street parking was readily available-the problem was only at mid-day, and my sole beef was that it would have been nice to know how crowded the streets could become at mid-day because we could easily have planned around that. The place was more or less as advertised, and lovely. It would be perfect for a couple, kind of tight for families, but I'd probably stay here again because looks and location was it was really one of the nicest places I've ever stayed.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend at Casa de las Olas. The location was fabulous--a short block one way to La Jolla Cove and a short block the other way to the heart of downtown La Jolla. The cottage was clean, comfortable, fully equipped and quiet. The Service from Bluewater Vacation Homes was excellent. They regularly followed up with reminders and local information. The only "problem" I had, being a Luddite, was trying to figure out how to operate the tv's and dvd players. An instruction sheet would be useful and appreciated.

Looking for a weekend away from Los Angeles stress, a friend and I set out to La Jolla to find haven near the water. We expected the 8001 Ocean Lane property to be the ideal getaway but had no idea it was going to be as marvelous as it was. The listing photos and description do not do justice to the serene and charming atmosphere of the place. It was brilliantly clean with all the necessary amenities and left us beaming with delight at the door, fearing that if we walked too far in it would end up being a dream. The surrounding area has a variety of shops, cafes, and attractions that are just blocks away making exploring easily accessible. Yet, even with the town center being just up the street, there is little rowdy foot or vehicle traffic around the cottage providing the perfect feeling of comfortable seclusion. The area and shops are incredibly welcoming, relaxing, and fun – look for smiling servers and delicious treats at Cups cupcakery! I highly recommend the cottage to any friends, family, partners, or individuals looking for a beautiful and accommodating place to stay in the La Jolla area.
