Spacious room, big bed and fantastic power shower.
The temperature was either too hot or too cold in room. Reception staff were a little unprofessional chatting amongst themselves , I didn’t feel like I was a priority.

The fact they couldn’t price match our next stay in December so we booked via booking.com which is poor when I have the awards membership

The main reception and dining area was ok
The bed was really uncomfortable felt like we was sleeping in bricks. Bathroom was very small. A lot of noise coming from next door and further down the corridor. Outside the window was very noisy and sounded like there was a fan going all night think had about 20mins worth of sleep really not good especially when I was competing at the hyrox event on the following day
Breakfast area was very small very close to other tables. Quality of food wasn’t good farmhouse sausage tasted sour. Scrambled eggs was that full of cream made us feel sick. The mushrooms was freezing cold
When we arrived I walked in and asked about car parking as we went to go park in the NCP car park next to the hotel. Went and asked the lady on the front desk if they had discount or anything she blatantly with an attitude so no. But then failed to tell us there is one they have connection with which would have cost us half the price of what we paid at the NCP.
And finally the bath in the room was disgusting which made us not want to get a shower
All in all the stay wasn’t good and to be honest I would like a refund as it was far from worth £119

The staff made it all so special, they were so friendly & happy on reception, particularly Nasma & Mo,

Weve been to very expensive Birmingham hotels and honestly, we enjoyed this one more. We got married in Birmingham last year and splashed out then but for our anniversary this year we decided, why spend more for something when this hotel is equally good and with friendlier staff? We liked the comfy bed, the room layout, the cleanliness and the staff, also liked the proximity to all the fun things we'd plan to do like go to a concert at the O2 academy and wonder around the shops close by. As someone with very problematic hair, the shampoo and conditioner provided is actually very good. I always take my own incase it goes wrong but I like to try them and they've been my favourite so far so please don't change it holiday inn!

Room was nice, clean, I ordered room service and it arrived promptly
Location is very strange, had to park in the Grand Central station but no indication of where to go when you come out of the car park, had to walk around with all my stuff trying to find it.
On arrival the systems were down, which is unavoidable but better contingencies should be place to deal with this, 1 women had been waiting over 2 hours to get her room. I was told to take a seat, my details were not taken, I was then told I needed to get my name on a list which I eventually did and got my room after about an hour.
I got my room key finally, got settled into the room and about half an hour later someone tried to get in my room! They obviously had been given a duplicate card/room no! Luckily I had put the chain on but I could have been in the shower! The reception did ring to apologies but I was offered no compensation for either the wait to check in or the fact someone had access to my room. Even a complimentary drink whilst waiting might have been nice.

Pillows not great and not sure why but bed seemed too small for the room? Couldn’t reach bedside tables once you were in bed ?

The location was great from New Street station. the staff were all excellent. The room size and facilities/ cleanliness was excellent. we did not have breakfast but enjoyed great service at the bar

Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Bar and dining area were very welcoming, breakfast was good. The room was very spacios as was the bathroom. We were attending a gig at the Town Hall so the location was perfect.
The double glazing does not keep the street sounds out. It sounds like the windows are open when they're not. took 3 attempts to get down to reception as each time lifts were full. Finding the stairs in the end was not easy

The check-in was quite nice. Also the breakfast was good.
The cleaniness of the rooms and the general condition of the rooms/hallways were poor. There were hair on the bed sheets, hair on the tiles of the bathroom. The bathroom smells a bit like mold. Everywhere were cracks or scratches - the door handles not properly secured. Curtains were also not in good shape. I didnt felt comfortably to stay in my room.

Het personeel bij de receptie was erg behulpzaam. staan voor hun gasten klaar op een prima manier met volop servicegerichtheid. ook worden de kamers goed schoongemaakt. de gemeenschappelijke ruimtes zijn prima in orde en de locatie van het hotel is echt super! prima voor een weekendje waarin je niet veel tijd in je hotel doorbrengt maar vooral geniet van de stad.
De kamers waren niet van 4 sterren niveau. ze waren wat 'outdated' om het maar zo te zeggen. oude badkamer versleten gordijnen en vloerbedekking. Overigens was het wel schoon! Toch is het niet wat je van een 4* accommodatie verwacht. ik zou het max 3 sterren geven.

Room R 008 was a nice setup but again no aircon. A heater was provided it but still chilly.
The Fire alarms really ruined my stay. Was gonna stay for 3 nights had to leave after the second night after been woken up again on new years day with fire alarms. Paying over £300 for a room you expect to be warm and have a good night sleep. Stayed at the hotel before and the fire alarms have gone off so its time to find a new hotel. Which is a shame because its a nice hotel with good staff

Location was amazing!! A stone's throw from ttain station, Bull Ring shopping centre and Alexandra theatre. Arrived early and left luggage. Friendly staff on reception. Lovely foyet and lounge/bar area, bright comfortable and welcoming. Room was immaculate, 6ft bed!! Bathroom was gleaming! The breakfast had the best selection we've seen. Breakfast staff were also superb. An excellent night's stay, well fed, and cases back in storage after check-out, to make the most of the fab location. We've stayed in a few Holiday Inns (IHG hotels), and all been excellent, but this one is the new favourite! And an excellent price! Will definitely be back.

Good breakfast
Due to rain the ceiling started leaking in the room we stayed in. They changed our room. The new room was unfortunately not noise-Proof and it was VERY LOUD when people walked or talked in the corridors.

The room looked worn out, and the toilet flush was semi-broken, and hole in the wall.
