a 10 minute walk from the main square, comfy beds, good hot shower, didn't have breakfast here, in fact our stay here was all good until it was time to leave, and then it took a turn for the worse....
I had arranged with the host that we would paying for one and half nights so we could have a late check out. We paid when we checked in, but it turns out we had not been charged for the half night, we hadn't noticed, so when we got back much delayed from a trip to colca canyon, we were in very real danger of missing check in for our next flight, the traffic was crazy and I was getting frantic, we packed in 5 mins flat, only to have the host try to hold our suitcases to ransom when we really needed to just go! There was no need for that. She had my credit card details. Suggest she gets her staff to charge correctly in the first place. Left a very bad taste in the mouth when I was already stressed. Caught the plane only thanks to a kamikaze taxi driver!

Staff was sooooo friendly, loved everyone working at the hostal.
They went out of their way to help us book thinks and make sure we had a nice stay.
WiFi doesn't work everywhere in the hostal but that is a minor minor thing.

I can only speak highly of Hostel Solar and the service. We were in contact before our arrival. In addition, they organized transport from the airport for us. Everything went perfectly. Breakfast excellent and prepared on the terrace overlooking the surrounding mountains. The location of the facility is great.
We came to Arequipa at the worst possible moment of the protests and the closure of the city. The Hostel team supported us and was very helpful even when we had to leave the place quickly to go to another airport to get back to Europe.

The staff was really nice, we had a great stay and they kept our luggage for our 2 day colca canyon trip.
The rooms were nice

The bedding was super heavy and every time they cleaned our room they would tug it under the bed, so we had to untug it to sleep comfortably.

They were so kind and helpfiul, we arrived very early after a night bus and were able to check in. Room very clean, beds so comfy.

Very nice place to stay for a few nights to explore Arequipa. Great location, clean rooms and hot showers. We did not have the breakfast at the hotel, so can't comment on that. They were very helpful and accomodating, we could leave our luggage while on a hike in Colca Canyon and we could wait very early in the morning for a room to be ready.

Central location in Arequipa old town. Nice outdoor area to relax and really good sunset view from the rooftop terrace. Tea and water was free.
The bed in the double room was really small (we believe less than 1.40m).
The room got very cold at night, but a heater was provided.

Location close to Plaza de Armas. Friendly and helpful staff. Warm shower, clean towels everyday. Very quiet, not a party hostel. Helped us book a nice full day tour to the Salinas for 95 Sol pp.

What we liked most? Definitely staff! Luz, Marina and everyone else is so friendly and very happy to give out advice on where to go and what to do. The price is also completely fine and we were even able to shower for a small amount after we came back of our trip and before leaving on a nightbus journey. Rooms are basic but fine. Noteworthy is also it’s location: super central and really nice.
While we were there some parts of the hostal were under construction: just so you know :)

The location is very nice. Safe and quite area.
The staff is helpful. The girl at the reception allowed us to check-in earlier and we could get breakfast instead of the next day as we’re leaving very early.
Nice zone for reading and taking coca-tea (always available).
It was a little bit cold in the room although we had blankets.
