Owner was very easy to deal with. We had 0 complaints and would gladly stay again. Very convenient to Duke medical.

We have exhausted unnecessary time, money, and energy as it pertains to this booking. Upon arrival,My mother-in-law witnessed suspicious activity on the dead end street where the property is located (directly in front of the front door of the rental). Understandably, she had safety and other concerns. I tried to reassure her via phone…I wasn’t able to video her due to driving and she video chatted with her daughter and son-in-law until I arrived. They also later attested to the conditions. Upon arriving at the property, I assessed the situation including the condition of the property which is certainly NOT up and coming as the hosts indicate in the listing…this is an established neighborhood on NCCU campus. Essentially, the investors took a lot on this dead end street and built 3-4 houses (so the new build description is accurate).However, it is the hood..trap houses, etc. Additional Insight 1. I have some familiarity with Durham albeit I am not there full-time and there are a lot of new developments. There is also a new highway that opened a few months ago…so the property description combined with the home being built in 2021 led us to believe that this was in a new development. 2. Upon receiving the address 4 days prior to our stay, I looked up the property details on the Durham County Property Records site. In hindsight, I should have looked up other properties near the booked house on Price Ave/St. Or perhaps conducted a google view search. Go figure. I’ve stayed in many places in the US and abroad and never had to do that given the accurate property description provided. 3. If we had known that this property was in the hood with suspicious activity, we would not have booked. 4. It took the host nearly 2 hours to respond to our messages. I called, texted, and messaged via the app. They never called back but ultimately responded via message perhaps after VRBO attempted to contact them as well…we were on hold with VRBO for nearly hour by the time the host finally responded. If you desire a peace of mind, this house is not for you.

We stayed at this property and we really enjoyed it. Check-In was easy. The house is fairly new and provided everything that we needed for our visit to Durham. The house is in a great location too. We will definitely rent this house again.

The house was perfect for our stay. Super clean house and it literally still had the new smells, as it is a recently built home. It was within minutes of Duke Hospital, restaurants and stores. The owner had incredible open communication.

We had a great time in this pretty house. They had nice touches for us, like snacks. Our only regret is that we could only stay one night.
