We booked this as a long Memorial Day weekend. The location was great, the accommodations were nice and VERY WELL appointed. The host was excellent!! We would stay here again.

Have to say my wife and I were pretty dismayed at the selection of properties available in San Diego, then we looked just a little further afield and found this absolute gem of a property in Del Mar - just a few minutes up I-5! The studio was perfectly located in the quiet but gorgeous Del Mar, just a short walk to an incredible beach and a short drive to anything and everything going on in San Diego. We were able to explore beautiful nearby Torrey Pines State Park with the park pass the owners lent to us, and were steps away from a great New York style pizza place and local burrito/taco stand. The apartment itself was perfect and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was a nice secluded guest apartment at Carol and Paul’s beautiful home - separate from the main house and with its own entrance, it was perfectly private, but with probably the best views of the whole place! Wish we had made more use of the separate terrace! Our hosts were extremely accommodating and accessible, and met all our impromptu needs. Can’t say enough good things about our stay with Carol and Paul!

The place was perfect. There was so much thought that went into the set up - I wanted for nothing. The bed is super comfy - the kitchen / bathroom is so well stocked with essentials and more. It had everything. Carol & Paul are delightful host. Amazing communication and beyond kind. They made the stay even better! The place is perfectly located near Torrey Pines Beach - I walked to Del Mar a couple of times - a few miles with ocean views. Close to the highway. If a small place will work for you - it is absolutely perfect! I couldn’t recommend it more! They go out of their way to make sure your stay is a great one! I will stay again!

The apartment was perfect, and Carol was so helpful and kind. It was comfortable, clean and well equipped. We made good use of the park pass. Absolutely loved Torrey Pines! My daughter and I felt safe and the location was perfect for exploring the southern coast. (We had a car.). Spent a day at Balboa Park, saw seals and sea lions in La Jolla, enjoyed the sandy Solana beaches and the towns of Cardiff by the Sea and Encinitas. Highly recommend this lovely place!

This was our second stay. Hopefully we will be back next Spring. Our hosts made sure we were very comfortable.

We had a wonderful week long stay in beautiful Del Mar. The studio has a fantastic location, convenient to everything with a great view. Hosts were very communicative and had many great recommendations for our stay. Perfect place for two people with plenty of storage space and a well stocked kitchen. Having laundry access was a plus as well. We really appreciate your king hospitality and look forward to our next visit!!

This studio apartment has all you need. Cozy, clean with the essentials. Proximity to restaurants and the beach. Sunsets you see on postcards. Carol and Paul are the nicest people. If you don’t require lots of space this is your dream.

Gorgeous views of the Los Penasquitos Lagoon and Torrey Pines Sate Natural Reserve and coastline. Lots of hiking trails at the Reserve or just down the road at the Torrey Pines Extension, as well as miles of beach to walk. Many good restaurants within walking distance. The studio itself is very clean and well appointed. There are 2 deck areas for morning or afternoon sun. The hosts, Carol and Paul couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. The only minor problem with the area is the amount of air traffic from the San Diego Naval Air Station, which can be loud at times. Would definitely recommend!

A super fabulous place! The apartment was charming, spacious and very bright. It was very clean with all the amenities. It is walking distance to the beach and a few eateries along the way including a coffee shop. The location is very easy to get around and sight see. We went to several different beaches. Whole Foods is not far. The coastal cycling trail is so easy to get to and the bird watching in the wetland preserve from the balcony was a favorite thing for me to do. If you like bird watching do not forget to bring your binoculars! The hosts are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

This place was absolutely perfect for my husband and I's month long stay in Del Mar. Everything we could have needed was provided for us (parking pass for beach, beach chairs, beach bags + towels, kitchen supplies, laundry, etc). Anything we needed or asked for was promptly responded to by our amazing hosts. It is the perfect location - distant ocean view, walkable to the beach, and walkable to a couple restaurants + a coffee shop. The bed was comfortable, and even though the place is a studio it had plenty of room for my husband and I to work from home for the whole month. The cherry on top was the patio that we were able to sit out on and enjoy the weather + view from. 100% would recommend this VRBO!

We were here for a week. The studio was immaculately clean. All appliances were top of the line. The unit was like brand new... attractively painted with nice furnishings. It was convenient to have a dresser for clothing and a large closet as well. One of our favorite features was a small writing desk that was beneath a window. The view was out to the Penasquitos Lagoon and the north side of Torrey Pines State Park. Lovely. There was also a sweet little outside balcony area terrific for morning coffee or wine and sunsets. Owners were courteous, friendly and responsive to a few requests we had. Only con was traffic noise from a very busy road nearby. We found that good quality ear plugs worked well for sleeping. Bring if you are noise sensitive like we are. Carol and Paul were great hosts. We would recommend.

The studio has so much light, it is heaven sent. The beautiful windows allow you to look out on the preserve and contemplate for hours. It was so destressing, I felt like I went to a spa for the week. There is a beautiful deck to sit out on and a smaller balcony to enjoy your morning coffee. Carol and Paul could not be more accomodating hosts. Two of the most interesting and kind people I have had the pleasure of staying with.

Perfect spot for us to be close by where our kids and grandson live. Loved our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the flat. The space is immaculately curated, and the hosts are wonderful. Very much enjoyed the view and the location close to the ocean. we would love to come back! Highly recommended!

Everything was really great. Location is absolutely perfect, with so much to do within walking distance. The best NY pizza west of New York is 5 minutes away by foot. 5 good restaurants within walking distance. Beach is also walking distance or you can park using the hosts Annual Pass at no charge. Host provides umbrella and beach chairs, towels etc. Driveway parking at the property. Only thing I would have preferred is the chase lounger and fire pit to be on the ocean side of the Casita. They are behind it but not a deal killer. We will be back for sure!

The apartment came just as advertised and was as neat as a pin. Paul and Carol couldn’t have been nicer or more responsive. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to others.

This was our first time in San Diego and we had no idea what to expect. We have stayed in at least 25 VRBO homes in both the States and Europe over the years. Carol and Paul's level of hospitality was unmatched. Every detail (including personalized breakfast choices) was met. The place was spotless and the bed was perfect. By far, our favorite spot was the two seater table overlooking the Torrey Pines State Park. Carol provided a parking pass (normally $20 a day) that also allowed us to drive to the top of the park and walk as many trails as we could handle (Breathtaking views). We hit many beaches, Old Town, Gaslamp district, and more. My husband golfed at four spectacular courses with his favorite (Torrey Pines) being just 5 minutes away. You are truly in the center of everything. I am already missing our sanctuary and hope to go back very soon. Thank you, Carol and Paul for a wonderful vacation!!

The location is fantastic with a short walk to the Torrey Pines State Beach, a coffee shop and a few restaurants, plus easy access to touristy coastal towns as well as downtown San Diego. The hosts, Carol and Paul, are super gracious and thoughtful. Del Mar is a lovely town with nice restaurants, parks, and beaches, plus a nice farmers market on Saturdays. Our dog really enjoyed our morning walks at the Del Mar Dog Beach. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend this Vrbo!

A completely delightful stay from start to finish! It feels so safe, so clean, and so well thought out to maximize comfort. Everything is lovely, from the bathroom towels, to the art, the bedspread, the paint colors, etc. And I've never stayed at a rental property that was so well stocked with everything I could possibly need.😍 The hosts are incredibly thoughtful, friendly and accommodating. I felt right at home and would love to stay in this property again!

We had a wonderful three week stay in this beautiful private studio. Carol and Paul were gracious, very responsive, and helpful hosts. We especially appreciated the proximity to the ocean and Torrey Pines State Park and our two terraces, both with sea views. Several nearby restaurants and a convenience store were handy and delightful Del Mar is just a short drive away. This is the perfect retreat for relaxation, hiking, and exploring San Diego’s many attractions!

The apartment was clean, comfortable, light & bright. They thought of everything and added nice little touches everywhere. You really do not need to bring a thing with you for a beach vacation, they have supplied everything you need to enjoy the area.

Excellent for couples visiting Coastal San Diego County.

Our stay in Del Mar was fantastic! The luxurious studio was equipped with all the amenities we could have desired and the host was incredibly accommodating to our needs. Additional highlights included: the bright and airy studio, easy access to beaches and parks, and a peaceful location that was just outside of the busy downtown area, but still offered plenty of nearby conveniences. As someone who loves being in nature, the stunning views of the ever-changing lagoon and breathtaking sunsets were truly rejuvenating. We can't wait to come back and experience it all again!
