Was always a treasure, 3rd time staying here. Pool service is atrocious with having to clean our own table and dessert being served to a dirty table with dishes of appetizers and entrees.
Hoping this is only an isolated incident.

While this was the best room of our 6 week journey, we did not rate it as the best hotel. There is not alot of 'fun' or 'smiles' here, except for door people and pool people. A little sombre. Mos tof the pool loungers were 'reserved' for most of day ( a pet peeve) and some not occupied the entire time we were at the pool. Italian restaurant just OK, and did not live up to the expectation the prices afforded. We needed to take taxi or ride share everywhere we wanted to go as there was not much walkable in this location. Lovely pool but in a weird spot requiring walking out and across the driveway.

Absolutely stunning room - like being on the old Orient Express. Hotel is beautiful and we particularly liked the giant lillies on the private road. The area is kind of in embassy land, so it's safe but quiet.

Luxury and purity and often associated with each other and every hotel in Bangkok is absolutely laden with gimmicks. Not so the Sukothai. Every detail is so perfectly considered every offering so an obtrusively excellence that the place exudes quality with without ostentation. Perhaps it’s as close as a five star hotel come to the Tranquility of a monastery. Not to mention it is huge spacious and gracious in ravishing grounds set in the middle of the banking district. The hotel chains may do what they do. This place was an extraordinary vision when it was built continues with great subtlety to upgrade and remains exceptional

If you want old school luxury this is the hotel for you. The staff are friendly, know what they are talking about and very helpful. The experience is calm, peaceful and relaxing. We went from staying here to the banyan tree hotel right next door and there is no comparison. The rooms are clean and spacious, the pool is amazing, big and plenty of cabana spaces. Overall I think this is one of the best hotels in Thailand and the rating it has on Expedia does not do it justice.

It's a beautiful hotel with great service. All the staff are very nice, polite and helpful. Got upgraded to a very nice suite and tasty snacks. The hotel is close to a park, walking distance. Jogging in the park is very nice, a great way to kickstart the morning. The pool is amazing, great for photos.

Tranquil, spa-like stay. We were upgraded and the room was palatial, tastefully decorated with low-key luxury. Absolutely would be returning for our future stays in BKK.

All great. Reception and door man is very helpful and friendly. The room is great too and live the garden. Only the lady (seems the manager at breakfast) is rude two days in a row. Seems racism against Chinese. Wont come back again.

The staff was so welcoming and helpful when we had inquiries! The treatment we received and the beautiful property reflected their status as a 5 star hotel.
My husband and I really enjoyed the signature cocktails at the bar, massages at their spa, and the saltwater pool! Moreover, the morning buffet was delicious with ample western and Asian food options. The passionfruit and papaya were my favorites.

This is an extraordinary hotel. A secret gem. An island oasis amidst the big city bustle. The rooms are smartly Thai modern style. The four eating venues are all excellent. (Don’t miss the breakfast.) The gym is superb with a top notch staff who are eager to help you learn to stretch in the Thai manner. The spa is top quality with an exciting new facility opening soon and the pool, the pool, is one of the greatest hotel swimming pools in the world.

This is a wonderful 5 star property in Bangkok. If you are a swimmer, this hotel has the best pool for laps.
I highly recommend getting a massage at the spa. I also highly recommend booking a club room which includes an incredible breakfast spread, afternoon tea and evening nibbles and cocktails. All of the staff members are extremely kind and attentive. A shout out especially to Ploy and Mint.

Great property and very peaceful despite construction on half of the hotel. Great rooms...superb service....exceptionally helpful when my wife got ill. Food was great, pool gorgeous...only minor complaint is that the club needs some upgrading and better food....Otherwise, I will stay there again on next stay in BKK...
