Great place to stay!

Pretty good hotel with great breakfast. But the parking system is terrible. I asked about 3 weeks ahead for parking and was told that you could just show up and that they don't have a reservation system. When we show up, it's of course full, so we had to try to find some parking elsewhere on the streets of town. Not so many amenities, but aside from that it was all good.

I reserved two rooms for my family over a month in advance. When we arrived I was told that I had only one room. Scandic claimed that they were overbooked and they were cancelling many reservations. They claimed that my room problem was due to a mistake made by Hotels.com. Regardless of whoever made the mistake, I am unhappy with the inconvenience of having to find and stay in a lesser hotel, separated from family.

The hotel is very dated. The rooms are nowhere near the standard of other scandic hotels I stayed in on this trip. The walls are very thin and you can hear the people in the room next door (who were very noisy). The breakfast was very good

The hotel reserved parking is NOT free. Even though they made it seem like all we needed was a parking card from the reception. It's actually 120 nok pr. Day. Which you will be charged for on checkout. No one mentioned this on check in. With free parking elsewhere even with closer access than the hotel parking, this seems very deceptive. And the hotel parking requires climbing 3 stories of stairs outside the building to get to the reception. Other than this, the room was OK, old and worn, but new, good beds. Very bad layout in the shower/bathtub. With soap dispensers mounted on the wall right where you need to stand to shower. Making it really cramped and hard to use the dispensers because they are right in the shower spray. 😂 Breakfast pretty good, with a decent selection of hot and cold. Exactly the same on both days (sun-Mon). So I guess don't expect variety.

Compared to other Scandics I have stayed in, the rooms seemed a bit run down. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable.

Very friendly receptionist good stay. Room was short on soap though. Mentioned this at check out and the gentleman at the counter apologised and said it would be fixed. All in all an enjoyable stay. Great breakfast!!

Spent 3 nights at this hotel. On checking in we were asked if we would like to pay an additional 2000 Kr per night for an upgrade to a superior room with sea view which we did. (appx £20 per night), but were then disappointed to find this "superior room" had a bulb missing from the light and something falling out of the wall in the bathroom. To be fair the bulb had been replaced by the time we had returned from a trip out having made reception staff aware. The key card did not open the gym door and on mentioning this to reception we were told it didn't work as the lift took you straight there, however we were on the 9th floor which was the furthest the lift went and the gym and sauna were up some more stairs so it remained unclear how you actually access them. The twin room was adequate. The breakfast was fabulous with something for everyone, hot and cold, healthy and not so healthy! Kristiansund was very quiet the weekend we visited, but the location of the hotel was good as it was easy walking distance around the area, and port. We used it as a base to drive the Atlantic Ocean Route and further afield. Parking was in a multi-storey car park behind the hotel and being next to the Police Station felt very safe!

Great location. We arrived on a Sunday so the town was sleepy as it is in Norway on Sundays. It was very peaceful. BEST hotel breakfasts I ever had!

The hotel was very easy to find and well maintained. It had a nice breakfast and great staff. The room was slightly smaller than average and unfortunately we were visiting during a bit of a heatwave. With no A/C in the room, it was a long night.

Absolutely incredibly great breakfast, well worth it for that alone! A huge variety of options, as a vegetarian who tries to avoid dairy and eggs, I found reasonable options. The hotel staff were also truly fantastic. The woman on the reception desk when we arrived gave us tons of very friendly help, giving us advice on where to go, what to see. And later on she went above and beyond to get us a flask with hot water and cups that we could use to make tea in our room. The hotel location was good, very central, and we did the walk to Klubba from the hotel - wow, what a beautiful walk on our first day in Norway! Otherwise, we found the room clean and comfortable. The pillow was a bit lumpy and I would have liked a couple of extra pillows of different thickness to choose from. And the general feeling of all the furnishings in the hotel is somehow a little bit tired. But overall it was still a really nice experience, and we would definitely consider staying there again.

We had Our car With us - no hotel parking including, cost almost 100 NOK one night! Bar on the top - closed. Bar beside the lobby - service very amateurish. Not impressive. Maybe still out of season in begynning of June!

Stayed here prior to driving the Atlantic Ocean Road. It is 30mins away. Perfect location for this. Arrived late in the afternoon so missed theview on the water. Parking was interesting, an abandoned parking lot below the hotel with limited access. Brekky was excellent! Lots to choose from and really fresh. Comfy beds although sofa bed for the kids. Huge bath/shower. Good space to put things. Overall very happy.
