Beautiful property, rooms needs maintaining.

Gorgeous palace is the center of this property with modern wings for lodging in a lovely garden setting. Pools are fabulous. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful or pleasant.

It’s always a pleasure to return to the Pestana Palace. There is always a warm welcome and the concierge and reception staff are excellent. It’s the beginning of the season so the waiting and room service staff aren’t 100% on top of things yet, but overall it’s still a lovely hotel.

Beautiful place to stay. Make sure to spend time on the property to enjoy the gardens in the lake house Staff was phenomenal. Architecture was true to the period.

Throughly enjoyed our stay at Pestana Palace, did not want it to end! The building is as beautiful as the photos, the room was charming, very comfortable bed, incredible buffet breakfast and facilities (pools, gym, sauna and steam room). Very friendly and helpful staff. My only critisism is the price of the drinks at the pool, €42 for two aperol spritz is a bit crazy! Overall, brilliant stay and we will be back.

Some of the common rooms at the Palace are beautiful while some of the others have very faded and chipped furniture. It’s a shame. We paid almost $800.00 for a junior suite that was badly in need of repairs, replacement carpet (the carpet was badly stained) and new furniture. I was so looking forward to staying in this property it was a big disappointment. On the positive side the bellmen, restaurant staff and concierge were very helpful and friendly.

This hotel is fantastic. The staff are wonderful and the breakfast is amazing. It's like stepping back in time but with all the modern amenities. The rooms and architecture are breathtaking. I would really recommend staying here.

Fantastic service, rooms missing some small touches. It is definitely a unique property with lots of history. The rooms in the main building are very ornate and cool. The food service for breakfast and in the bar for dinner were really good. Every person that served us was well trained, happy we were there and were on their game. Some of the rooms had no balcony and were dated. While trying to match the feeling of the palace they missed the mark a little. Only one usb charging outlet. Beautiful gardens and the converted horse barn across the street for events were spectacular. Too bad the food for events weren’t as good as breakfast and dinner

The overall hospitality was brilliant, no complaints there. However in terms of amenities provided, there is still some scope of upgrade. E.g. the vanity kits provided in the rooms is not up to the mark of a 5 star hotel.

The original part of the hotel is beautiful and it was like going back to 1900’s The overall service was very good and all the staff were welcoming and helpful The rooms in the newer part of the hotel were in need of a bit of renovation but overall a lovely stay

We loved the people and the hotel very much. It would have been nice to know the pool was closed - we chose the hotel because of the pool. The website could have been more clear about the pool—goodness knows I was in the site many times out of sheer excitement. On our first day we were provided water, coffee and milk pots. The next day we had coffee, water but no milk pots. The third day we only received one water and again no milk pots. On the fourth day we received no water, coffee, milk pots or cups and saucers. It was mystifying! We like our morning coffee!

Truly stunning hotel and the staff were top level professionals in everything. An absolute pleasure to stay here.

Room doors and toilets are pretty old and need replacing also the breakfast timing is late for us as we are early birds and we want to have it by 6.30am

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The surrounding area is quiet and safe. This hotel is not in the city center and a long walk to Belem so if you want to see tourists sites and shop without having to taxi or uber this may not be for you. Uber to city center was only 10 euro. Lovely lovely hotel.
