Amazing hotel, lovely. Friendly staff and good prices . Spa is excellent

Great little hotel. Friendly staff, great food and amenities. Room was spacious and clean. The only gripe we have is the farm smell that we couldn't seem to get to grips with.

We booked this hotel as it has a lift and my wife has trouble with stairs. Unfortunately our room was in part of the hotel that didn’t have a lift. We should have asked for a different room but we didn’t and that was our fault. The restaurant staff were all very friendly and looked after us well. The food was well cooked and extremely tasty. The spa was very nice. The room we were in could have done with a clean around the windows where there were quite a few cobwebs and dead flies. The pillows weren’t very comfortable. They could do with replacing. Our stay overall was very enjoyable and we would go back.

We stayed in the Ashby Suite which was spacious and beautiful. The only criticism I could make is the sofa bed wasn’t particularly comfortable. All mod cons in the kitchen and a lovely seating area. Bathroom was spacious and modern. Spa facilities were fine and the staff were all friendly and attentive

My only complaint would be my room was very warm even though it has air-conditioning it can only be turned down to 20. That’s the highest I have the heating on in my house and the thermometer was saying my room was 26° even with the Aircon on.

Hempstead House is a beautiful Spa Hotel, surrounded by lovely gardens. It has everything one could want for a relaxing stay. The staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful. Wonderful breakfast in the morning. Would definitely return.

Very pretty room but the standout are the staff, each and every single one from the receptionist, to the chefs, restaurant staff, cleaner had a big warm friendly smile. So lovely!

Overall it was lovely but mattress far too soft for back sufferers. Room tidied but bed not made.

We have stayed many times in Hempstead House Hotel and it always exceeds expectation. This time we were in the original part of the hotel. The room was pristine and the amenities were very good. The surrounding gardens are lovely and although we didn't use the spa on this occasion, it looked beautiful and clean. The staff have always been friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. Dinner, which was served with a choice of two restaurants, both formal or more casual, was of an excellent standard. I would always return to this hotel when in the area.

Excellent service, staff brilliant and couldn’t do enough for you. Food delicious and great quality. Room a little compact for a family room , but would definitely stay here again.

Me and my new husband spent our wedding night here absolutely perfect. We arrived late and the night manger was perfect warm greeting and showed us to our room to our surprise he was there for breakfast as well. The room was perfect we was greeted by a dove in our room in the morning which we are taking as good luck. The spa facilities were brilliant and relaxing as well thank you so much everything was perfect

It was an amazing experience, we loved interiors, very helpful staff, small but really good swimming pool, spa etc. Breakfast was good too. Enough parking spaces, room was slightly small, has air conditioner and showe room.

We had an amazing stay. A beautiful hotel I’m a lovely location. Friendly and helpful staff. Although there was a wedding that weekend it did not disturb us and we were amazed that it was so peaceful

We have had a fantastic stay at Hempstead House Hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back for another stay.

We stayed here before and after our wedding and found the entire experience was superb. The room was clean, well furnished with good extras e.g. tea/coffee facilities (including nice biscuits!). The shower was fantastic which is one thing I feel often lets other hotels down, so this one was a win for us! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and added extra touches to help us celebrate. The cooked breakfast was faultless and overall I would happily return here.

My friend and I stayed here for 1 night just for a catch up and chill. We had such a brilliant time and there was also a Robbie Williams tribute on that evening. He was brilliant and such a fund evening with everyone up dancing! The food was amazing and the staff first class. On Sunday we had a treatment in the spa then used the facilities before heading back home. We would definatley return, Thank you Hempstead House Hotel

Linked to a visit to Canterbury, Hempstead House was wirthin easy reach. We got shown the hotels facilities before being taken to our room by friendly reception staff. The room was very clean and spacious, the pool was great although the sauna a little small, hydro pool very enjoyable. We enjoyed the evening in the brasserie bar, the barmaid Anna was very good company and her local knowledge was very helpful. We didn't eat in the evening however the breakfast was very good and plentiful, served by a lovely lady. Overall a great stay and will definitely stay again.

Excellent customer service all around

Not having up-to date door keys to allow you to access the room I was unable to access my room on two occasions as when the staff had had to let me in with their master key because the keys would not read the door for two days. This has happened they had to give me an extra Metal key to open the door as the electronically key would not work, then the keythat the manager made me aware of that was 20 years old had snapped when I tried to open the door with the key the manager was very rude I felt very pushed distressed and wanted me to pay for this when I simply explained that I should not have been in the convenience of being in the situation where I had to use the key in the first place and I said you had pointed out that you have been using these keys for the last 20 years. Do you not think that they may have been worn due to wear and tear or a faulty key nevertheless I wouldn’t be in the situation, where I would have to use the key to open the door, if the electronic keys would work in the first place and had been up-to-date and not faulty I had found the this lady manager which was around 60 to 70 years old would blonde, curly kind of hair, very rude and very very arrogant. When I explained I would not be happy to pay £50 for a new key as I did not feel at fault also, she had she had pressed me quite a lot asking me squinting her eyes. Why did I not phone up and let them know about a dinner reservation when I politely explained something that came up and I was unable come

Lovely little spa hotel. Had the best massage and facial. So relaxing. Every member of staff I encountered were lovely and helpful. Nice little breakfast in the morning.

We stayed for an evening, the facilities are nice, definitely needs more beds around the pool. The treatments were amazing and fantastic value which I highly recommend. It’s more an older couples retreat than for kids and thankfully we were an older couple.

Beautiful hotel in quiet location, great spa facilities and lovely restaurant. Room was very warm and not great sound proofing, we could clearly hear the guests in the next room using the loo which they did regularly throughout the night so we didn’t get a good nights sleep. No Prosecco in the restaurant which would have been very disappointing however it prompted me to try English sparkling wine which I never would have tried and it was delicious!! All in all a very pleasant stay and we will definitely return.
