Room was not as shown in photos .. Floor was not clean and had a lot of grout showing. Phone in room was broken and didn’t work. Staff not very friendly and was charged for room before I arrived and was supposed to pay at the property. Booking even said pay at property and they tried to cancel my reservation and said the listing as such was a mistake.

Hotel was lit on the outside food was good but rooms were very small and no privacy at all, tv did not work and had additional fees that we couldn’t utilize.

Unfortunately for us the elevator wasn't working and there was no television for the full stay.

Unfortunately, the elevator was not working & I discovered it had not been working for about 2 months. This made getting heavy luggage to the room difficult, particularly for those with health issues. There was no bellhop available before 9 am or after 9 pm.

Wrong place to stay. We were on 3rd floor. Elevator not working. Has not been working for days or weeks. No technicians even looking at fixing it. No internet on site for tv. ALL tvs had no connection. I tried to use room phone to call front desk. NOPE. Used cell phone. Front desk associate eventually came to check it out. Looked at connections like i couldnt do that and said Sorry not working. Then followed up with I am only employee working. No one else here to look at it. This was after we came to the hotel and my reservation wasn't in the system and the front desk associate was on the phone with someone walking and threw it. He then assigned me a room give me my room key and then my business partner had a second room and he was checking in and then he says to me sorry I have to take back your room because I think someone is still staying in that room and had to reassign me a new room. Later on after a nice walk on Ocean Ave we decided to go to bed and I go to turn the TV off using the remote control but no matter what I did it wouldn't turn off. I'm afraid to call the front desks since there's only one person it took me awhile to disconnect the cable behind the TV. On the positive side the bed was comfortable however the shower whoever installed the shampoo should look at the location as it made it very difficult to shower in terms of room. Sorry there were many hotels in the same price range and there are many hotels that were available so we made the wrong choice

Second time staying at The Beacon. Great location and affordable! Old Miami charm!

Don’t be fooled by the photos and rating. This hotel is very old and you can feel it when staying there. The room felt dirty and the bed was very uncomfortable.

Excellent Location in the heart of South Beach with really great customer service! It has neat vibe inside. BUT this hotel needs some updating in a major way. It's an old hotel to start and it's obvious they tried to improve it, but the elevator was down and breakfast was provided by a restaurant nearly a block away. It would have been nice to know this in advance. We had to take 4 flights of steps to our room. Plus, views from our room lacked a lot (looked into other ugly buildings & a back alley). Beds sunk in the middle and pillows were weird. The bathroom was only big enough for 1 person at a time. Room was pretty clean but very humid. If you like unique places with a cool vibe, this place is great!! If you want modern and fancy, this is not your hotel!

It was difficult for me as a person with a disability and limited mobility due to recent surgery, as the elevator was out of order and I had to attempt to climb two flights of stairs.f stairs.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful during check-in, and they kindly assisted with my luggage. The hotel restaurant was fantastic, offering a wonderful atmosphere and delicious food.

The elevator did not work which we did not find out until we arrived. We had to walk up 5 flights of stairs with heavy luggage for a 6 day cruise. We also had to pay an additional $100 deposit which is supposed to be refunded it’s been over a week and I still have not received it. When I contacted them to ask why they gave me an email address and still have not heard anything back.
