This place is cozier than I expected. You need a taxi or Uber to get to it from the airport, but it’s not too bad. The staff even scheduled my morning taxi for my early flight. The room was SO clean and cozy. The tv with streaming platforms was a nice touch. I never received my email with a code, but was able to contact the owner and she texted it to me. All went very well. She was so nice.

After our cruise we wanted to stay one night near the Fiumicino Airport (Rome). Rather than stay in a hotel, we found a small guest house five minutes from the airport. What an amazing find! We not only found the facility and room to be immaculate, but Sofia and Nicolas made us feel more like a guest in their home. To make things even more enjoyable, it was only a ten minute walk to the beach and location where the Tiber River empties into the sea. It was a perfect place to watch the sunset and have a fabulous meal at one of the many restaurants overlooking the river. If you ever want to stay near the Rome airport, look no further than the Kalaso Design Guest House.

Nice little guest house with a lovely owner who takes wonderful care of you. In a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants and the pier. Great for a stay while connecting at FCO

I wanted a hotel near the airport and this property looked good. It is located in a fishing village so there are plenty of restaurants featuring fish within a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Go down to the canal and walk along it. The hotel itself is small with only 4 rooms, but they all have a private bathroom and are basically comfortable. There is a free continental breakfast included and the hostess is a super nice lady. I arrived early as I was getting back from a cruise, and just wanted a place to sit while they made up my room for check in. They rushed to get my room ready and as it was raining, I sat in the office and read for a bit. There is a nice outdoor lounge area with chaise lounges and chairs. They also have free bicycles for use by hotel guests. There is not much immediately around this hotel, but walk for 15 minutes and you will find stores and restaurants. A cab to the airport is $20 Euros, flat rate. I would definitely stay here again and support a small local family business.

On the day of the worldwide IT system crash July 19-20, as we arrived in Rome from Firenze 3 hours later than planned, Sofia stayed in touch with us as we travelled by train, explaining the gate access code system, taxi options to the airport, how to order dinner locally, and talking us thru how to work the A/C controls. She ordered us a 7:00am cab to our airline drop-off, and was in the kitchen at 6:45am setting up the continental breakfast. Her suggestions and reassurances were a great stress reliever. Brava Sofia!!
