We really enjoyed our stay at Gill's house. She was a very warm and friendly hostess and we immediately felt at home. We will definitely be back. Thank you for everything!

The accommodation was just as stated , perfect with wonderful views of the countryside . The owners were lovely people . They baked a cake and gave us some homemade jam . Just delightful people . Nice country walks and plenty of pubs to visit in the area. I thoroughly recommend this accommodation .

We thought that everything was perfect about our stay. The house was the perfect size for our family, was finished to a high standard and included all of the amenities we needed. Our host was friendly and had great advice about the local area. The great location meant that we were within east reach of the Somerset attractions whilst enjoying a stay in a cute country village.

A perfect destination for a long weekend.
We were bowled over by the view from the terrace and the ready access to the Quantocks. Top marks for comfort, location and hospitality. We would return in a heartbeat!

Beautiful Lodge
We spent 4 nights at Bashford Lodge and had a wonderful break. The lodge is beautiful - 3 well sized bedrooms, all with huge double beds (all 3 can be split into twins if needed). There were 3 bathrooms that were spotlessly clean, as was the entire lodge. The kitchen had everything you needed including a wine fridge. The lounge area had bifold doors which opened up to a balcony which had the most amazing views!
In was also in a great location. We visited Taunton, Street (fabulous shopping outlet called Clarks Village), Glastonbury Tor, Ifracombe and Exmouth.
And many thanks to Gill who was great and made the whole process seamless.

great house and location
The house is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The location is great for exploring the Quantock hills and local attractions. It also has the added bonus of having the Rising Sun Pub (great food) just around the corner. Gill is a very welcoming host, I would love to stay at the property again.

Idillic property in an outstanding area
This is an outstanding property that truly caters for the discerning guest. Gill and Dave have taken great care in ensuring they provide everything for their guests and make everyone feel welcome. If you enjoy riding everything is on the doorstep, for those who don't, the walking and local attractions will keep you truly entertained.

Fabulous New Year
Wonderful location with fantastic views. Outstanding accommodation - very comfortable, cosy, superbly equipped and finished to a very high standard. The welcome was extremely warm and what a welcome pack - everything you could wish for and more.
We are not horse riders, but this accommodation is for everyone. We highly recommend this Bashford Lodge and hope to return soon.

A TRULY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FROM START TO END.
OUR 2ND STAY AT BASHFORD LODGE THIS YEAR AND THIS TIME WAS EVEN BETTER. FROM THE FANTASTIC WELCOME YOU GET FROM EVERYONE THERE ( ESPECIALLY THE BIRTHDAY CAKE FROM GILL ) TO THE EXCELLENT HORSES AND MUCH MUCH MORE, IT IS VERY HARD TO HAVE TO LEAVE. THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN EVERY THING THEY DO IS 1ST CLASS. GILL ( OR SUPER WOMEN AS WE CALL HER ) AND DAVE MAKE SURE THEY LOOK AFTER YOU IN EVERY WAY. FANTASTIC LOCATION AS WELL WITH SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO.
WE WERE A 3 GENERATION FAMILY GROUP 12 - 70 AND WE RUN OUT OF TIME TO DO IT ALL. WE WILL RETURN.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Absolutely the best everything!
Absolutely the best everything. Gill and Dave Nurcombe are fantastic hosts. They give you an amazing welcome when you arrive. The lodge is beautifully appointed , more like a top range show house, with a view to die for. The best break we've had in all the years we've taken holidays. A great big THANK YOU. I'd recommend Bashford Lodge to anyone, whether they want to go for a ride with their fantastic horse trekking business, or just have a wonderful restful time.
