We really liked the traditional Iceland style building. We also loved the coastal decor in the room. Everything was very clean, new and modern inside. The guesthouse is in a great location right near the docks and a couple of nice restaurants. We would definitely recommend.

The accommodation and location are superb.The best guest house we have stayed in by a long way. It's a pity we could not stay longer.

I'm just going to start by saying....we didn't actually stay in the Syslo Guesthouse. They combined our stay because of the storm across the street at the Egilson and we LOVEDDDD it!!! The cutest little place with extremely cozy rooms. Handknit blankets on the beds. The bathrooms are top of the line, completely reonvated. Our host even gave us dinner when everythign was closed on New Years Day.

Breakfast (I would recommend)

The location was in the center of Stykkisholmur and the room and facilities were clean, spacious and comfortable. The bedroom was large and there is a nice living room & kitchen for all guests. The en-suite bathroom was well equipped. However, the check-in process was not clear and there was no sign or address on the outside of the guesthouse which is currently undergoing renovations. Luckily, the photo matched the booking and a resident carpenter helped direct us to the nearby hotel for check-in. Since there is no on-site owner or manager, guests were on their own for breakfast and the small town had limited options on a Sunday morning. There is free parking on-site.

A good choice for independent travelers but those needing any assistance had to go to the nearby hotel owned by the same hosts. This was somewhat impersonal and diminished the coziness of the guesthouse stay. There are lots of stairs from parking at ground level up to the front door of the guesthouse making it difficult to get luggage to the residence. Super challenging for older or mobility impaired guests.

The location was great! facilities were fine. The shared area was very usable, well decorated and nice. Host gave a great recommendation for dinner! it’s a very nice overnight stop, I would stay here again!

WiFi was poor, like very poor as in almost non existent. Also, minimal check in process/information made for a confusing start. If not for other guests, I’d have struggled.

It was a lovely guesthouse, clean and well appointed. Kitchen and living area was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent (for an extra charge). Staff was very friendly and helpful.

It was a little hard to find as there was no sign or building number (although they're currently painting, so that might be temporary). I could have also used a hair dryer, but that's a very minor point. Thanks!

Location and breakfast were great, we appreciated the espresso machine! Room size was nice. The sitting area on the main floor had a nice atmosphere and decor.

Lacking signage or address on the building made it difficult to find. Steps to the front door and to the second floor were difficult to manage with suitcases. The room needed a comfortable chair to sit in, 2 racks to hold suitcases, a place to put toiletries in the bathroom, 2 drinking glasses for the bathroom, a small table or chair in the bathroom for easy access to clean clothes after showering.

The guesthouse is situated conveniently in the heart of a lovely fishing village. there is a nice, large common kitchen and dining area that was kept very clean by guests and staff. there is also a great coffee maker on site.
