Very clean and fresh. Versatile kitchen. Very comfortable base for exploring the Peak District

The cottage is small, but perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is a great starting point for various trips to the surrounding area. We had a great time and would recommend it to everyone!
Just one thing: the last few yards to the cottage are on a rather steep hill (hence "Hillside") and it can be a bit tricky to park your car there. You'll need to ascend the last few yards up to the cottage, but if you're reasonably fit, it shouldn't be a problem.

Great little cottage
Visited this lovely little cottage over the Jubilee weekend. Perfect base for couples for exploring the south of the Peak District and about a 10 minute stroll into the village of Wirksworth which has several decent pubs and eateries. We did trips to Matlock Bath, the Heights of Abraham and Chatsworth House all within half an hour of the property. Everything about the cottage was lovely and we even bumped into Tiina who gave us some tips on places to go and kept in touch with us before and during our stay when needed. Would definitely recommend!

The cottage was lovely and really clean and tidy. We enjoyed our stay as it was a good base to explore the area.

Amazing
The cottage was in a great location, close by to main points of interest and was presented immaculately. It truly felt like a home away from away and the views were amazing. Little touches of some milk in the fridge and sugar etc available was great. The owner was also very responsive

Lovely quirky cottage
This is a wonderful place, quirky and very cosy. It’s a steep climb up to the cottage and the stairs are steep too, so it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues, but otherwise I highly recommend it. I also love that all the cleaning products etc are eco-friendly. I will definitely be back. Thank you Tina.

Lovely little cottage
Thoroughly annoyed our stay at this cottage. Tiina has thought of everything and the little touches like biscuits, eggs and milk were greatly appreciated. I would thoroughly recommend to friends and relatives.

We had a fabulous stay here and would not hesitate in stopping again. Everything there which you needed. So quiet and peaceful with wonderful views. The host was very helpful and always prompt with her replies. Thank you Tiina for our wonderful stay.

Good location, steep stairs, a lot of steep hills,walks from the door, railway nearby,,Matlock Bath.
Rained a lot but managed to have some lovely walks and lots to do nearby.

Cosy cottage, good location
Lovely cosy cottage, clean and very well equipped. It has a nice elevated position and a small garden with table and chairs which is perfect for a morning coffee or afternoon cuppa. There are lots of walks in the area so we didn't use our car during our stay, we parked near the church, a short walk away. Tiina is a great host and responds quickly. Highly recommended.

Hillside cottage
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely, cosy cottage. Perfect position as shops, pubs, restaurants, walks all within easy reach but far enough out of the way to be quiet and peaceful at night. Only downside is the steep hill up to the cottage- not a problem for us but could be for anyone less fit / able . Will definitely go again.

We enjoyed our stay in what is a perfect cottage for two.

Had dinner at the pub which was good and also went to the arts cinema which is recommended.
Wirksworth itself isn’t picturesque but has lovely countryside on its doorstep

We were not blessed with the best of weather - but mattered not as this was simply a great cottage in which to relax and unwind.

Great Stay
Beautiful cottage and village. Great location can walk into the village in 15 minutes. Great bus network to other towns don’t need to use your car. House is home from home don’t need to bring anything. Great owners will go here again

The cottage is was just perfect for the two of us. Location was a little walk from the town and is on the hillside. So need appropriate footwear. Beautiful views and lovely surroundings. Went far too quick

Great stay during Wirksworth Festival
With the lovely weather, this cottage was just perfect as it has a great garden with extensive views. Very comfortable place with dishwasher and powerful shower.

First visit to Derbyshire
Spotless cottage. Kitchen well equipped. Nice to have milk in fridge on arrival. Need that cuppa after a long journey! Take the car to top of the lhill where cottage is, unload as no parking immediately outside prooerty. No problems with parking at the bottom of the hill. Altogether a delightful experience in Derbyshire.

Relax in comfort and style
This property is just as described, in fact probably better! The owners have thought of every detail that could make your stay comfortable and feel like you are really treating yourself to a relaxing break. The location is not for the faint hearted but it was exactly what we wanted and needed! So peaceful! The bed was comfortable and the cottage was incredibly clean. Finally the communication from the owners was quick, exact and useful. Highly recommended!

Hidden gem
This small cottage is a hidden gem. We had a lovely week. The area is very beautiful and interesting, we wouldn’t have mind to stay a week longer. It is a very nice cottage, very quiet and very well equipped. We felt at home.

Hillside must be the nearest to heaven you’ll ever get.
Hillside is just perfect, a warm welcome from Tiina heralds a wonderful stay. The views are stunning. You can sit outside and enjoy just the sound of silence. Nothing has been forgotten to make it an outstanding stay. Comfortable bed, that you can lie in and enjoy the view. Fully equipped kitchen, tv and DVD player. If you don’t stop here you’ve missed out. We can’t wait to go again.

Cosy cottage
We had a lovely stay at Hill side cottage.
When we arrived Tiina had kindly left a pint of milk and cakes, which were very much appreciated!
The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated with a lovely small garden which had great views down to Wirksworth.
Unfortunately the weather was very wet and quite chilly during our stay but we felt warm and cosy as we retreated back to the cottage.
Just wish we could have taken advantage of the lovely garden and been able to take in the beautiful views!
