Beautiful building in remote but centrally located spot. Dark enough to catch the Aurora on one clear night. Recommended for those who want to be close to the back country and the natural landscape, but within reasonable distance to necessities.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this home and would highly recommend it. It was spacious, clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The host was responsive and helpful with questions we had prior to arrival. The highlight of our trip was being able to watch the northern lights on the deck. The home also has a spectacular panoramic view during the day. The location was great for day trips to spots along the southern coast and around the Golden Circle.

First off, the communication with the property managers was PHENOMENAL!!! Most questions were answered within minutes - amazing job! Our trip to Iceland was due to a friend getting married in this wonderful country. This home was HUGE and very easy to get to with a rental car. The views were awesome and we had 3 nights of northern lights viewable from the deck of the house!! It is within 1-2 hours of Reykjavik and Vik, so most of the southern waterfalls, craters, glaciers, and cities were vwry accessible!! The house was comfortable, clean, and the kitchen well stocked with equipment, utensils, and spices! 1000% recommend this amazing country and this stay!!!

Solfaxi is a gem. It was perfect for eight nights with our three generation family.

Our second trip to Iceland. This time we had our 3 young boys as well as my wife's parents. Home had more than ample room for all. Sunsets were amazing and boys really enjoyed the hot tub. Location is close to golden circle attractions and also within range of the south coast. Nicely secluded on a ridge, very tranquil. This is a cozy home and not just a house!

Thank you for such a lovely stay! Our memories from this trip include day trips to see Geysir and Gullfloss, and a drive to the Westman Islands. Make sure you try the ice cream at the lovely Efstidalur farm. We ended each day with the stunning views from the hot tub! Solfaxi was so comfortable and had everything we needed - and cooking in the kitchen was a real pleasure. We would love to return one day!

Our family of six adults very much enjoyed our stay at Solfaxi. The location was perfect for Iceland exploration and the house was very comfortable after long days out and about. The house was lacking nothing and the hot tub with amazing views made it extra special. Highly recommend.

Our stay at Solfaxi was a great way to start off our trip to Iceland. Directions were easy to follow and the property is not far off the main road. It is about 45 min from Selfoss. But everything is far apart in Iceland. The house is very close to many Golden Circle sites though and there are several smaller villages nearby as well with restaurants and such. The property itself is amazing. The house is quite large with plenty of room for your entire party. It was also well equipped with everything you would need. The views over the surrounding land are out of this world. Plus the hot tub was a great place to relax after a long day and see the Northern Lights. You can't go wrong by staying at Solfaxi when visiting the Golden Circle area!

Glorious property, both spacious but also comfortable and flexible. Very family oriented and welcoming environment that we all instantly relaxed into the stay. A wonderful outlook, in lots of space, and being able to see Geysir through the telescope was a lovely surprise, and the hot tub was a great place to enjoy the surrounding nature, and even when the weather was cold, the tub was lovely and warm.

Everything about this house, its location, the views and the comfort exceeded our expectations! It provided my family with a dream vacation. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen or traveling down the road to a nice restaurant. We enjoyed relaxing and viewing the landscapes and rainbows or jumping in the car and driving a few minutes to the waterfalls and geysers and craters. We were happy to lie in the hot tub or to go to the nearby Secret Lagoon. So, do it all or do none of it, but do it from this house! PS Try not to miss the mushroom hothouse restaurant Farmers Bistro or the tomato greenhouse restaurant Fridheimar. Enjoy!

Stayed with my family…my wife and I, along with our 3 children and my mother. Hot tub was a huge bonus. The house was very well stocked, clean, and incredibly well designed. Have I mentioned the Northern Lights? We got them almost every night! We lucked into clear skies in mid-March, but the unobstructed views from both outside and inside were absolutely breathtaking.

Great property! We relied heavily on the positive reviews from others and add ours here. Highly recommend this property and it was beautiful inside and out. Great communication with owners who helped us navigate crazy weather. Hope someday to return in the summer.

With the big windows throughout the home we felt like we were part of the landscape. Such a beautiful view - including a Northern Lights show. There were seven of us - 2 families - and the accommodations were perfect. Lots of beds and two large bathrooms, one for each family. We made use of the hot tub which was relaxing and picturesque. I’ve never seen a kitchen so well equipped, and a wonderful large table for all to eat together. The living room was lovely and there were games for the kids. We highly recommend this home. Agni was responsive to any questions and we thank him and his family for opening their home to us. Wonderful memories!

We are a family group ( parents, adult daughter and son plus son’s girlfriend) who spent a week at Solfaxi. For most of us it was the first time in Iceland and we all agreed that it was one of the best holidays we had ever had. House was stunning, very well laid out and supplied, and the location was perfect for excursions to Reykjavik and the golden circle. You will need to hire a car but driving wasn’t really a problem. Would highly recommend this property.

The view from this home literally takes your breath away when you walk in. As a family, we loved the kids rooms and many bedrooms; definitely recommend this home for an Iceland adventure and we made memories we will keep for a lifetime. From start to finish, incredible experience and excellent hosts who left great instructions. When we opened the door, we were blown away by the view. The house has everything you need and thought of a lot. They take good care of their home and equipment and we were grateful to get to stay there and share in the experience. We hope to return!

Awesome large and well appointed home just 15 minutes from Geysir and guilfoss. Perfect home base for many GC sights and the secret lagoon. The home is fantastic and very spacious. Comfy beds, linens, updated decor. The views are stunning. It was very snowy and mainly overcast and rainy during our trip (AWD recommended in winter)so I can’t imagine the beauty on a summer day. House has everything you need and owner is very responsive if you have questions. Keep in mind , the closest large grocery is selfoss for a Bonus and Kronan but nice 10/11 grocery in Fludir near secret lagoon. House has spices, sugar, flour and other items which was incredibly helpful. Tip: Go to the Secret lagoon we had to cancel blue lagoon due to road closures and I’m glad I did. We hit this gem of place 2 days of our stay it’s authenticity can’t be beat. Such a memorable and fantastic trip. Thank you Agni and Hildur for allowing us at your special vacation home.

We stayed with our kids and friends at this house over New Years and all of us really enjoyed ourselves. The location is excellent - very close to several great attractions from Geysir to Gulfoss to an iconic tomato greenhouse restaurant, and reasonably nearby to Thingvellir, the awesome hottubs at Laugarvatn Fontana, and a beautiful church at Skalholt. House itself is situated on a beautiful overlook with massive views and plenty of opportunities to see the northern lights during the right season, especially from the hot tub on the deck, which was a fantastic place to chat and drink champagne on cold snowy nights. The rooms are laid out well, really cosy and warm, with every comfort. The beds, especially, were super comfortable and were remarked on by several members of our party as being much very much better than usual. All in all a great house for a relaxing and adventurous retreat!

The location and views are amazing! The home is beautiful and I loved all the windows. Even if it's cold and windy outside it's always warm and cozy inside. The living room area is very comfortable with great views all around. The deck allows for a protected area from any wind. The home is very well located and close to many of the main attractions on the Golden Circle. We were very happy with our stay and sad to leave.
