Very clean and comfortable. The host met us at the property and provided info on the area. The view of Alhambra from the top terrace was amazing, and the location was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

We loved this house from the views from the terraces to the cool interior on a hot day to walking the ancient streets of the Albayzin neighborhood. It was perfect. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen.

This was a really interesting and fun place to stay in Granada! Our family of four was very comfortable and had wonderful time exploring the city and hiking outside of the city. Lots of great food and action close by, but very quiet at night for sleeping. Great views from the upstairs balcony. Would definitely want to stay here again if back in Granada and would recommend to anyone.

Just the best experience, we were a family of 4 with small kids and a family of 2 with a teenager - all had the best time. We walked everywhere and in the late afternoon had sun on the deck. Sarah was an amazing host who greated us and gave good advice. I would recommend this stay to a family or friends.

For our family, staying here was special because you got the feeling that you were living in centuries and centuries of history. From the charming, clean, well-kept, and cozy home to the spectacular view of the Alhambra and Albaicin neighborhood and narrow cobblestone roads, it's pretty amazing. The Albaicin is fun to get lost in (unless you have time-specific tickets to visit the Alhambra) and full of interesting shops and eateries.
It's a wonderful home in a fascinating city and I would certainly recommend staying there.

While our stay here was only 4 nights, I will remember the charms of this house for a very long time. The location Albaycin area was ideal for us. The local residents were friendly, offering greetings as we passed by. After a few days the street layout made sense for us. Our host was helpful and she scheduled a taxi for us on the morning of our departure.

Beautiful setting and loads of space
The property is exactly as pictured. The views from the patios are amazing. So much space for the four of us. We stayed in July and the rooms were quite comfortable in temperature. The cave is a great place to nap during the day. Nice to have a washer handy. Sarah was so responsive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

Location, Views, and Authenticity
Sarah's Albaicin house is a perfect and real Granada experience. This was our second trip to the city (19 years apart) and Granada was as fabulous as we remembered. The house was a big part of that. From the Alhambra views of the 3rd floor patio at sunset, to the cozy living room and patio on the 1st floor, the house met our needs and exceeded them. The kitchen is compact but very efficient and the same is true of the top floor small bathroom. The larger of the two 2nd floor rooms was great for our friend and the large bathroom there proved to be the space for us girls to blow dry hair:) While we did not hang out in the cave part of the house, if we had a longer stay or were here in summer, we would have as it stayed as consistently cool as a wine cellar. The best part for us was wrapping up in the cozy throw blankets and sitting on the top floor balcony with a glass of wine! Perfecto!

Beautiful house with wonderful terrace views
Quiet, comfortable, convenient to sights and shopping. Casa Luis is the perfect place for a small party of friends or family. Well-appointed and stocked kitchen, comfortable terrace off living area and second floor bedroom. Sarah makes you feel at home. If you are travelling to Granada Casa Luis should be your accommodation destination.

Granada Adventure
Sarah is wonderful! She had great advice and maps to all the local places of interest. We are vegetarian and Sarah went out of her way to name several vegetarian restaurants for us.
We loved the authentic feel of her home, it is in a quiet neighborhood close to small markets and restaurants with easy access to taxis.

Charming property in a great location
The property was very comfortable, well appointed and clean. Sarah was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The location was fabulous. The view from the terrace was stunning. My only caution would be that this is not a location for people with mobility issues as while it’s an easy walk to the sights it is hilly and hard to drive to.

The house was accurately described and felt like a home. We very much appreciated all the details in the decor and the way everything had been left for the enjoyment of guests, so we were even able to play atmospheric Spanish guitar music from the stereo and CDs left at the house. There are games and books in the cellar area. We coincided with an unusually hot spell with temperatures in the mid 30s but there were always cool places on the ground floor and terrace where the thick walls protected us and the breeze could waft through. Sarah was a very attentive host, greeting us and making sure we got our bearings with a very helpful pictorial map home-drawn. Food shops were within 3 minutes and open very long hours till 11pm.This has been one of the most interesting and enjoyable stays in a city we've had, also enriched by the walking tour with local restoration architect Rafael whom Sarah put us in touch with. He gave us insights we could never have learnt from a book. Highly recommended all round.

We are so glad we stayed in the Albaicin area of Granada and used this beautiful home as our base! This unique, interesting, and historic area is reflected perfectly in Sarah's home. We truly felt like were in a different world. The home is exactly as pictured plus Sarah's very thoughtful touches and modern conveniences (well connected tv, great wifi, dish washer, laudry machine). The porches were perfect for our breaks from touring as they let us continue to soak in the gorgeous environment from the comfort of home. In late March, the mornings and nights were chilly but the heating system and hot water were great. The house's location is great - close to everything but quiet enough that we woke to birds singing and church bells ringing.Sarah was a most gracious and responsive host before and throughout our stay. She manages this property with a lovely personal touch. She is welcoming, helpful, and a great communicator. In response to my request for a tour guide, she connected us with Rafael Anderson who gave my family an interesting tour of the Albaicin neighborhood. He pulled together all the facts about the architecture, history, and geography of the area and put it in a context that helped us all (ages 9-55!)truly appreciate what we were seeing. The Albaicin deserves several days of exploration and this home is a perfect place from which to do it. We highly recommend this home!

What a gorgeous house
We stayed here with a couple of friends and we loved it. The house is lovely, in a great location and watching the sun set from the balcony was delightful. Sarah gave us some great recommendations and was really helpful with our arrival and departure times. Highly recommended.

Brilliant position in The Albaicin with fantastic views of The Alhambra.
We loved everything about this property, so full of character and very comfortable for the three of us, myself , my husband and our son. It would certainly accomadate 4 adults and 2 teenagers/ children very easily with extra space in the 'cave' for younger children if needed. It's a very short walk to the local shops and restaurants where you will find everything you need. The walk down to the centre of town is an easy stroll and full of interesting places to stop off and look around, plus cafes abound for the odd coffee on the way. The bus service back up to The Albaicin is reliable and frequent so you don't have to worry about walking back up the hill! We really didn't feel we needed a car during our stay. Sarah is a really helpful hostess and very accommodating, she went out of her way to organise taxis to the airport etc. The bottle of wine she left out for us on our arrival, plus other food stuffs in the fridge were very welcome. We would certainly return to this property if we get the chance to visit Granada again in the future.

Location in the heart of the Albaicin
Sarah was a great host. We needed a next day replacement for a VRBO place that cancelled on us and she responded immediately. Met us at the door, showed us around the apartment, gave us a good orientation to the area.
The apartment is a three floor residence on a narrow Granda street. The Albaicin is a somewhat restricted area so you need to either walk to the apartment or take a taxi. You need to be able to navigate stairs with luggage.
Bedrooms are adequately appointed. The third floor bedroom has a terrace with a view of the Alhambra. Beautiful place to enjoy a nightcap. This bedroom also has a small en suite. The two second floor bedrooms - one is a double bed with ample space. The other is a single bed. The second bathroom is on that floor. There is a cave room that is the original house. It was musty and we didn't use the space at all. Linens were good quality, towels supplied, some toiletries but bring your own.
Kitchen is small, well equipped for our three night stay.
The main floor has the kitchen, an eating area, and a sitting room. The sitting room opened onto another terrace with ample seating.
Apartment was clean. We loved our stay there.
We have used VRBO and Airbnb on several of our European trips. The key success issue for us has been communication with the host. Sarah was excellent on this score.

Unique, charming, and the best way to do Granada
Just picture postcard pretty. It was comfortable and well-equipped, with plenty of room for five adults. (I do have to say that no one in our group found the “cave” bedroom very appealing). The neighborhood is great, with many good restaurants and shops. After stays in Barcelona, Madrid, and Sevilla, the Albaicín seemed a “world apart” in the perfect way. The walks to San Nicolas viewpoint and “down the hill” to the Old Town area are short and easy. There are plenty of buses and taxis to bring you back again. Love this house!

Great location to all there is to see. Very nice hosts. Funky, fun neighborhood. Comfortable!
We were there, my wife and I, with a daughter, her husband, and two young daughters. All had their own rooms. Plenty of space in the Albaicin neighborhood. This was a comfortable place to stay in one of the most unique neighborhoods we have ever stayed. Rich history. Narrow short streets to get lost on. Great views of the Alhambra from our two decks. We were here six nights. No complaints. Loved it.

Review of Calle San Luis, 14, Albaicin, Granada
This attractive house in the Albaicin section of Granada is located in the old historic part of town. The house is convenient to the Alhambra, wonderful local restaurants, markets and central Granada. With its narrow cobblestone and winding streets, it is easy to get “lost” but also very interesting. Driving a car in this neighborhood is not recommended and access is limited. The area is hilly and could be difficult to navigate for someone with a walking problem, although taxis and buses are inexpensive and readiy availble to access the neighborhood.
The house was pleasant and full of character and contained everything needed for a comfortable stay. We were three female friends; the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms gave us adequate privacy and more than enough space (we didn’t use the extra cave bedroom during our January visit). The kitchen was well supplied. We had breakfast in the house but ate our other meals out. Sarah and her husband, Bert, are gracious and thoughtful hosts. Many amenities were provided including coffee, tea and other groceries for us to start off with. Sarah was easy to communicate with and responded to all our inquiries in a very timely manner. On a personal note, I accidently left my presciption sunglasses in a local store. Sarah and Bert tracked down the glasses and mailed them back to me in the U.S. One couldn’t ask for more responsive people. In addition, our taxi back to the airport was arranged for us by Sarah and Bert; our driver, Pedro, was on time, helpful, efficient and inexpensive.
The only downside to this house for some people could be the stairs leading up to the main level and the stairs in the house from the main level to the bedrooms. The addition of handrails would be helpful.
Thanks to our hosts and this lovely home, we had a wonderful visit to Granada.

A Perfect Setting in the Albaicin
The location of the house in the Albaicin was a perfect base for our visit to Granada. Located in the old historic part of town, the house is conveniently situated to many activities including the Alhambra, local restaurants, markets, and central Granada. With its narrow cobblestone streets, it is not recommended to bring a car. Taxis and buses are inexpensive and readily available to access this neighborhood.
The home was comfortable and full of character for our family group of 5. My nephew enjoyed sleeping in the cave! And the other bedrooms gave everyone else more than enough space to spread out and relax.
Sarah was a very gracious hostess. She was easy to communicate with and full of helpful recommendations for having an authentic Granada experience. She put us in touch with Rafael, a local architect who gave us a full day walking tour on the history of the Albaicin and Granada. I think he made a lasting impression on my nephew, a 4th year architect major.
The house contained everything needed for a comfortable stay. We ate out most nights, but decided to have a small family celebration on New Years Eve. We picked up provisions at the local shops and markets and had a lovely New Years Eve feast! We even watched the fireworks displays from surrounding plazas from our terrace at midnight.
Thanks to this lovely home and hostess we had a terrific stay in Granada and will return to this house given the opportunity.

Our group of four loved this house.
Our group of four loved this house. The location is excellent and the house worked very well as a base for sightseeing and also for relaxing and reading and enjoying the glorious views. Sarah has decorated the house tastefully and comfortably and the terraces and entrance give a delightful open flow through the house. October is also a beautiful time to be in Granada with snow on the mountains and clear, warm, sunny days. We had all our meals on the terrace. I highly recommend the house.

Homey house, steep stairs, interesting neighborhood
The house was comfortable and homey, although the three levels and steep, slippery stairs are not appropriate for some guests. The neighborhood was interesting and authentic, with good restaurants, as well as convenient for scenic walks and local buses. Owner was helpful, but could have been quicker to respond to inquiries.

Excellent place
Very nice. There were three of us and we like to spread out -- worked perfectly. High up the ridge facing the Alhambra, with great views from the two balcony patios. We walked all over the old city from there. Convenient, fairly short cab rides to both the rail station and the bus station.

Wonderful
We were met by Sarah and Bert who showed us round their lovely house. On arrival they had kindly provided us with orange juice, coffee, biscuits, bread and a bottle of wine. What more could you ask for?
The house is situated in the old town with lovely views. We made the most of the terraces especally the one off the main bedroom.
It was wonderful to be in the old town and then just a short work into the city.
We stayed for 4 nights but could have stayed longer.
Will definitely be back.
