Beautiful quiet lake to enjoy. 30 minutes to downtown Saratoga. Perfect place to recharge.

Really enjoyed the stay for Thanksgiving week, beautiful spot, quiet but convenient to everything. Great communication with host and no issues with the stay.

Peter was super responsive and very friendly. The house while not fancy had everything we needed for an enjoyable weeklong stay including kitchen tools, a cooler for picnicking, and bedding. A few highlights were the full moon rising over the lake, daily kayaking, and proximity to excellent day trip locations. Check out the Saratoga Spa State Park for hiking, golf & swimming. It is about an hour and a 20 minute drive west to Cooperstown and and hour and a half to Tanglewood. The only quibble with the house is that the shower stall is quite small.

This home was better than described. There is an oversized deck overlooking a private lake where we enjoyed our outdoor meals and fire pit in the evening. The home was extremely clean and totally equipped with everything we needed during our stay. Peter was so pleasant and responded promptly to all inquiries. We would definitely return.

I stayed at this lovely house with my sister after a tough year. The owner was super accommodating and responsive. We were able to bring my sister's two small dogs who loved the property, especially the fenced in deck. The real value of the property is the quiet lake and the wonderful neighbors who deeply believe in their community and were super nice to us. I enjoyed kayaking and the beautiful weather. Just be aware that the property is a little far from a grocery store and plan accordingly. Also, I was surprised that there was no way to swim unless you jumped out of a boat, but for me, that was fine.

Nice quiet setting with beautiful lake view. I loved sitting on the deck - even saw a bald eagle fly close overhead! The host Peter was quick to respond to any questions and dropped by once with yummy Italian treats. Amenities such as gas grill, central A/C, washer/dryer were nice -- and fresh new pillows were a plus!

We had a lovely stay at Peter's house on Galway Lake. It was spotless clean when we arrived, and even had fresh flowers. The house is just like in the pictures, except there are 2 futons in the living room (which are very comfortable). The location is on a small road, tucked away and very quiet, with a huge lawn going down to the lake. It was especially nice to have central air conditioning in those hot summer days. It's a small house, but very comfortable with everything you'll need to cook, bbq, and have lots of fun. It is a heavily wooded area, and right on the water, so be ready for some mosquitos.

There are no noisy power boats, just occasional slow pontoon boats with silent electric motors. Easy trips to Saratoga Springs (state park, Saratoga National Park) and Amsterdam (Erie Canal bike/walking trail). Peter, the host, was extremely responsive in answering questions, and kindly mailed us a watch that we had inadvertently left behind. A really neat place, which we greatly enjoyed.

This was a beautiful property on lovely Lake Galway. We enjoyed dining outside with the lake view and used the kayak for paddles around the lake. We found the property to be well located for bike rides on the many rail-trail bike routes in the area. Although out in the country, the property was 30 minutes from Saratoga Springs and 60 minutes from Lake George. We took day trips to each of these locations to enjoy the mineral baths at Saratoga Springs, and a boat ride around Lake George. It is a simple property with 2 bedrooms, we used the futon in the living room, and the bed in the master bedroom instead of the smaller 2nd bedroom as these beds were more comfortable. It was also a bonus to have a washer/dryer combination on the main level. The host was laid back and easy to deal with and treated us to a delicious pizza and bottle of wine. Thanks Peter!
