We had an amazing stay at bungalow at Green Hill! The cottage was brand new and tidy. There are 4 separate bedrooms (one without a/c but with the ceiling fan and windows open it was ok). Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Plenty of common spaces around the house. In the kitchen we had everything for cooking. Each breakfast included eggs, srilankan pancakes, rottis, fruits, tea and coffee - more than we needed to get enough. Goyambokka and Silent beaches are 5-7 minutes walk. Special thanks to the host Mahendra that made our Tangalle part of journey unforgettable! He also helped us with the transport and everyday issues. I would certainly recommend this location and the accommodation.

Green Hill cottage is surrounded by lush trees, with top floor views to the sea. You can walk to several gorgeous unspoilt beaches. Mahendra, the owner is very kind & goes out of his way to make your stay a good one.

Quite remote if you want to go out in the evening, especially in Tangalle area.

We stayed at cottage and it is perfect accomodation for people that like peace and nature, we saw a lots of peacocks, squirells some monkeys :-) they preppared for us delicious breakfast and dinner. Pool is big and clean. Close to 2 most beautiful beaches!

This lovely cottage was our home for one week. We enjoyed our time here, swam in the clean big pool every day. Food was very tasty and big portion for the price. Owner and his family were so welcoming. It was pleasure to meet you! ❤️

Mahendra and his staff are incredible hosts. The property is beautiful and immersed in nature, with beautiful ocean views from our room. We extended our stay due to the fact that we felt so comfortable, and felt fully immersed in the local village and environment. We also had the opportunity to meet Mahendra's sister who gave us a cooking demonstration on making dhal curry and millet and sweet coconut in leaf (highly nutritious, and traditional Sri Lankan meal). Within a 5 minute walk to some of the most beautiful beaches I've seen. I also requested a lesson from Mahendra on some basic Sinhalese phrases, which he was more than happy to accommodate, and was a great teacher. If you would like to experience an authentic Sri Lankan experience in paradise, look no further, can't wait to come back with some more friends in the coming months.

If you've ever wanted to go to Sri Lanka, go now! Super nice and helpful people, no crowds even on the most tourist trails and attractions, kindness and smile at every step. I am writing this review after traveling around Sri Lanka for a month with my wife and 14yrs old daughter and visiting eight different places. Green Hill Cottage is the most wonderful place we've stayed in, we didn't want to leave. We felt it then and it turned out to be so in retrospect. We reorganized our plans for the next two weeks so that we could stay there at least one more day. The words that best describe Green Hill Cottage are "absolutely exceptional". It's all thanks to Mahendra and his family that owns this property. The charming cottage is located in a garden teeming with natural life. The cottage has everything you need and more. Everything is very neat and super clean. This is one of those places where time starts to slow down. The idyllic atmosphere was complemented by delicious food prepared especially for us, one could say made to order. Within walking distance are two of the most beautiful beaches we have visited in Sri Lanka - Silent Beach and Goyambokka Beach, and the town can be easily reached by scooter or tuktuk, it takes about 5 minutes.
