Family makes you feel welcome and is very helpful. House is really interesting and has a nice inner courtyard to seat and relax.

Room I had is rather basic but comfortable and given the price well worth it. La Candelaria in Medellin is a challenging borough in some ways. I felt safe during the day but didn't really venture much out at night.

The house is located in the local part of the city that might seem a bit sketchy to a European traveler, but I never felt unsafe even though I was walking around on my own (solo female traveler) after 10pm in and before 6am. I actually loved the local vibe of the neighbourhood, especially on Saturday night. About 10min walk to the metro station and the bus to/from the airport. Lots of food available practically on every corner (local joints, bakeries, fruit vendors...) My room was very clean, nicely decorated and there was hot water in the shower. The apartment is very interesting. There was also a kitchen, but I wasn't using it, so I can't comment on that. I much prefer homestays to regular hotels, so much more authenticity. Also loved the cats :)

My room had no window. Also, as mentioned above, you are living with a local family and other travelers, walls are very thin, so it can get a bit noisy for a light sleeper. Bring earplugs and you'll be fine.

Found some dirty point in pillow, hot water is not stable (5 mins hot and then 5 mins cold constantly alternate) have to wait.

The location is good. It’s at walking distance to the metro and tram station, so getting around the city is easy. It’s also on a quiet and safe residential street. The hosts were friendly and helpful. They accommodated early check in and allowed to store our luggage after check-out.

I do appreciate that this is a home stay and the hosts are trying to make us feel comfortable. But we shouldn’t also forget that this is a commercial enterprise and they are providing accommodation services. From that respect facilities need improvement. The water temperature was impossible to get right, I wasn’t able to shower for two days because I just couldn’t get the temperature right. The bedding was antique which added to a personal, family-like atmosphere. But it had yellow, old-cloth stains that happens when fabric remains in chest / cabinet for too long. I know it’s not unhygienic but it’s still not very nice aesthetically. The door was quite old as well, and had a gap on top. It didn’t lock very well and didn’t felt safe, and the gap on the top meant that sound travelled quite easily from the corridor and hallway.

The people were very kind and the place was clean.

It is a room with shared space with the local family, of which there was no prior information. They had a family get together while we were there and talked loudly and smoked late into the night right outside our room. What is visible on their advertisement is not representative of what you get. Not worth the price.

CASA Grande is a small, comfortable and quiet guesthouse with a relaxing vibe. There are numerous ambient spaces outside of the rooms to chill and the common kitchen is well equipped and clean. La señora is an adorable, she is very kind and helpful and she loves the girls

La señora is an angel, she is very kind and helpful and we felt very well looked after. Bring her fresh flowers from the nearby market and watch her heart melt ❤️

Hard to control shower temperature

The location is great if you want to be close-ish to the centre. it’s easy to access the metro and you can go to local restaurants in the La Playa area. The house is lovely, showers are hot, wifi works, and the lady did our laundry for us.

There is an open gap above the door which makes for a very noisy night with people snoring and a meowing cat

This is a really lovely home and family. It is as beautiful as the pictures. It is incredibly clean and the kitchen is very modern, large and well equipped. There are very nice areas to sit with lots of plants and peace. If I were in this area again, I would definitely stay here.
