Quiet canal away from the chaos, great restaurants close by, very short walk to join the crowds/ see main attractions. Great staff, so helpful.

Great stay at the hotel . We did have issues with the water tax service they provided . They were 20 minutes late picking us up from the airport and both on the way there and back, card machine was broke . First time we had to use all of our American cash which was $180 we were told by driver . Second time on the way back to airport, assured us the card machine worked only to get to airport and said it didn’t . Had to go to a random arm to get Euros to pay. They should really recommend another water taxi service and not utilize them for their guests.

Our stay at Hotel American Dinesen was wonderful. The staff there were kind and more than helpful. The room and bathroom had everything we needed and the breakfast buffet was absolutely wonderful

Such a cute hotel and the location was great! Our room was so nice that we hated to have to leave. The young man who checked us into our room was so sweet and friendly! We would absolutely stay here again.

A very nice stay, very satisfied. The breakfast was wonderful and we appreciated that it was served until 10am. Location was great, walking distance to most sites without the chaos of San Marco. Highly recommend.

Blocked the light from the window to better sleep

The staff, service, cleanness was excellent. Made our stay in Venice even better. The owner is very hands on and present on site. Which my opinion makes everything more organized. My daughter left her passport in the safe and we had to retrieve it after we were already in Milan. We had to drive back to Venice. The passport and euros were there, which displays honesty. Can’t get better than that! If you are sensitive to noise I would suggest staying on higher floor. The 2nd floor you can hear a little kitchen noise, nothing a sound soother wouldn’t take care of. This place is great, I would highly recommend.

Great hotel excellent location for a walk to center. Recommend to take port parking and take boat straight from o Zarrante. super quiet area. Great service and hotel. 25-30 minutes walk to center of island for a slow walker

Friendly and accommodating staff

Hotel American was about a 15 minute walk from the busy part of Venice and a welcome oasis from all the crowds. Our room was so comfortable and had a sweet balcony overlooking the canal. The breakfast buffet was a delicious way to start the day. The best part was the hotel staff; they were so attentive and helpful and made us feel so welcome. They even made dinner reservations for us before our arrival in Venice. Highly recommend this wonderful hotel!

Beautiful hotel, great location, professional service

This hotel surpassed my expectations. It was very clean, cool and comfortable. Rooms are a great size and the location is quiet yet still convenient to restaurants and sites. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and assist with any directions we needed. Breakfast is fantastic. I hope to return!

This was the perfect choice for a hotel in Venice. Quiet area but easy walk to all the popular sights. The fish restaurant next door was so good we ate there 3 nights. Hotel staff was very accommodating. Having the water taxi able to come directly to the front door was an added bonus. Included breakfast was full of amazing offerings.

Wow, what can I say to express how wonderful this hotel was? First of all it is in a great location. Quiet, yet within steps of food, shopping, and wonderful sites. Private water taxi will deliver you right to their doorstep. The staff were exceptional. Always ready to serve and with a smile. We especially enjoyed Larry and his winning personality. The room was perfect for our needs. Beds were heavenly! There was plenty of space to stretch out and relax. The bathroom was well appointed and the shower was strong and hot. We would absolutely stay here if we return to Venice. It was everything we needed and with staff that all speaks English and seems to know what Americans want in a hotel.

Property location and condition was great. Only issue was the parking. Offsite free parking was only a 10% discount. Different than what was advertised.

This property far exceeded our expectations due to the amazing location in a fairly quiet area and the staff were incredible as well. The buffet breakfast including omelette, fresh squeezed orange juice and very good coffee along with everything you could ever want for breakfast. The people who work there are very accommodating and extremely pleasant. We enjoyed the private water taxi ride to the airport and booked that while we were there. The hotel can be accessed from the public transport which is like a ferry using the #1 or 2 line from the train station. Consider a 2 day pass for as long as your stay so you can easily go to St. Mark’s square and other areas with the ferry if you had enough walking. You can get your pass near the water as soon as you get off the train. The place is a dream. All of it. Do not hesitate to stay here. We highly recommend the Viator private tour of the Basilica and Doge’s palace and ask for Sabrina. Take a private vaporetto ride. We enjoyed ours from near St. Mark’s Square near the back alleyways away from the port area. There were many things to see. I wish we could have stayed longer than the 3 days we had in Venice. If I return I will book the same hotel. We had a nice corner room -102- and a beautiful view of the side canal and a little view of the grand canal as well. This place has an elevator and the staff helps you with your bags as well. Have a fantastic time at American Dinesen Hotel :-)

very good location, close to several Vaporetto lines, but not that noisy if would be at canal grande, and the staff / owners are very friendly and supportive - we enjoyed our stay in September

Locations is great for art lovers being close to Accademia and Peggy Guggenheim Museum. Nice shops across the bridge on way to Piazza S. Marco. Also easily accessible to Dorsoduro and Santa Croze areas which are more residential and less hectic than Rialto area. Hotel was pleasant and relaxing. Kind staff were helpful too.

The property is quite lovely with very attentive staff, we felt safe and comfortable immediately. Will stay here again!

Beautiful hotel, super friendly and helpful staff

Propery is in a quiet locatiom yet still gives you the amazing canal views. Beeakfast is amazing, staff are incredibly helpful and everyone speaks fluent english so there are no language barriers. AC kept us nice and cool during a record heatwave. Highly recommend!
