Amazing! went near my birthday and the lovely team organised me wine & cake :) the bed was comfy and clean, the hotel room spacious and beautifully decorated, the staff are wonderful and helpful

Stayed 2 nights in King room with opera house views. Nice.
But there were no soaps or salts for the bath. The king bed was made from two singles and I felt I rolled to the middle and the pillows weren’t as comfortable as I expected.

I was given a room even though I turned up early before official check in time. My room was also upgraded. Staff were helpful and the facilities are in excellent condition. Will definitely stay again one my next trip.

Always a great hotel to stay in the Rocks area of Sydney.

The stay was overall good and the service was good but with a baby we have the following input:
1) it smelled of spices in the bathroom
2) the whole room was cleaned beside the baby bed and the mirrors

Had an amazing stay for my birthday. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Room was perfect and they even gave me a birthday cake. Check in and out was very smooth.
Only negative is the cost of parking and that there was no warning that we would be unable to access the Altitude restaurant or bar Blu until 2000hrs due to a corporate function taking place. That really was a big disappointment. Would def stay again though

Location of the hotel is great, very central with easy access to trains and ferries. Staff is very friendly and helpful. View from my room onto Opera was awesome.
Overall I think the design has aged a bit, but that is a very minor downside which is not really worth mentioning.

The Harbor view was so perfect and satisfying. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The only regret thing was the internet. It was too slow to do anything.

Receptionist was very friendly and professional. I mentioned that I am a very light sleeper and she offered me to pay a little bit extra to have a quieter room on a higher floor. The room was simply stunning and very quiet. Very good location as well. I'd definitely be back. All the employees I interact with were amazing! Thank you!

Perfect walking location to Sydney Harbour and Opera House. Room with view of Opera House/City was worth it and saw the sunrise and sunset. Staff and room will make me stay here again.

After a long international flight our room was available early and they allowed us to check into our room early so we could cleanup and nap. Saved the day. Everyone was very nice.

The hotel is a little dated already but it is Shangri-La, you cannot go wrong. Some parts of the bathroom were a bit leaky but overall good experience.

Rooms and amenities are becoming a bit outdated and could use some updates. Also, not very welcoming for a 5-star hotel to offer an "upgrade" to a room with better views for almost double the cost of your original stay. Otherwise as a comfortable stay. The bell staff was very kind and always acknowledged us going in and out of the hotel

Nice hotel in a great location. Walkable to opera house and many good restaurants. While a nice property I would not give it 5 stars. A bit dated and the dining is subpar. Most notably the top floor bar and restaurant. You're truly only playing for the view. The service and quality dont match the price you pay. There are much better paved to get a drink and eat. Go enjoy the view and head out.

A go to for ant visit to Sydney. Great location, the rooms are always spacious and comfortable, service is spectacular, welcoming, and friendly. Great amenities to enjoy too

Nice hotel, great location but pretty average considering the price per night. For $50/head extra, one small serve of cooked breakfast was extremely overpriced. Breakfast table was not cleaned properly. Crockery was dirty. For the price and reputation I expected to wish I could stay there all the time. It wasn't the experience I hoped for.

We have stayed at the Shanghai La before and we always love it. Very classy hotel with excellent staff. It is ideally located in the calm relaxed area on the edge of the Rocks.
Honestly, it’s the only hotel bathroom that we have ever stayed and not seen a speck of mould. It’s just a step above
