Very pleasant stay in an incredible city with lots to do

We loved our stay to see the Edinburgh Christmas market and castle of light display. The breakfast was amazing and the room was great for two friends with twin beds. The only downside was the pool and one spa being unexpectedly closed!

Very nice as expected with a high end property. Our view was just of the hotel courtyard which is just a car/taxi drop-off. But the location with perfect with the Edinburg Castle, shopping and the Christmas Market within a 15 minute walk. If you plan on going to the castle, there is a bit of an elevation to traverse (as in fact it is a castle) so not an easy walk for some.
Only issues during our stay was, a broken toilet seat which they fixed very fast and the room lighting. Most lights were controlled by a set of buttons and we could never figure out how to turn on the lighting where we wanted. Though I'm sure had we found instructions we could have set it perfectly.
We had a club room which worked out well as usual. The club staff were attentive and friendly. The breakfast was typical Scottish foods, which meant the only bread choices were white or brown toast bread and potato scones. There was fresh fruit including sliced melons and pineapple every day, along with scrambled eggs, sausages (including vegan) and sliced cheese and meats, along with cereals and yogurt. I would have liked some rolls or other bread selection but that doesn't seem to be a thing in Scotland.
We did not eat at the hotel restaurant as we instead tried the many restaurants nearby.
We very much enjoyed our stay, and if we return to Edinburgh will definitely stay here again.

Really nice hotel, pretty poor that when we arrived that were told that our room wasn’t ready, “come back in an hope, hour and a half” no apology. Meant we were struggling for time to get ready for our concert.

I was made to feel so welcome throughout my stay by all the staff. They constantly went above and beyond and were never troubled by any request you had. I can fully recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a stay in Edinburgh. Thank you.

Lovely stay in a club room but would have liked a better view , there was something making a humming noise outside which kept us awake in the last night , would like water to be put in the minibar so chilled on arrival , also a heated towel rail , also no water cups at the spa , overall very good , would like the option of eggs Benedict at breakfast or fried egg/ omelette . Food was very good , also would like extra pillows in room

Great hotel, well situated. Service in the bar and restaurant could be better. Food not great - we ate in the restaurant one night and had lunch in the bar the next day and I wasn’t too impressed with the food or the time we had to wait for it to be served. But it’s a very comfortable (and expensive!) hotel.

Our stay was perfect as we were attending a concert across the road in the Usher Hall on the Wednesday evening. Followed by drinks back at the hotel. The next day the hotel held our bags until we explored Dean Village.

A lovely experience from start to finish. The staff are warm and welcoming while maintaining a professional approach. The room was lovely and we could set the temperature to our preference. Comfy beds and peace and quiet led to a good night sleep. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very accommodating of my dietary restrictions. My sister and I look forward to booking another stay sometime soon.

This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Turn down service was lovely, the food at the restaurant exceptional and room service excellent. The staff should be commended for the fastidious care that they took of our room. It was a joy to return here each day after our outings..

The only thing that was disappointing was that the breakfast menu was hanging on the door. I didn’t see it until I was leaving for the day. I was really looking forward to it, too. Tell the staff to put it on the desk with the dinner menu!

Lovely welcome by the front of house staff. The room was really spacious and the bed was particularly comfy making for a really good nights sleep. We had some drinks/cocktails in the hotel bar which had a lovely ambience. Will definitely book here for future trips to Edinburgh

Ah-mazing!!! We had some flight cancellations and another accommodations issue so we needed a place for one night. I wish we’d booked this for our entire Edinburgh stay. Staff were super, club floor lounge was great. Good variety and overall what we expect for Club Floor. Room was immaculate and well appointed for our family of 3 and close to great places to eat/things to do. Very quiet room. A few steps away from the big tourist area.

There is nothing hugely wrong with this hotel, it’s comfortable, clean and the staff (esp the concierge/porter) were great. The pool and spa are OK too. It’s just not quite the standard of furnishings/facilities and surroundings I would expect of a 5 star hotel costing £400 a night. I appreciate it is Edinburgh and August and prices are spectacularly hiked up but it just doesn’t compare to similarly priced hotels overseas.

Can’t say enough about the caliber of the accommodations, hotel and the amazing service staff. Only real hiccup was the cleaning staff not having the rooms ready until around 5-6pm if needed.

Great room (Club room was worth it). Selection of food at the club was great value for us! Cleanliness was top rate, housekeeping were really good at their job.
Hotel was centrally located, with most major attractions in walking distance. The concierge team were fantastic, they helped me book a tour for my wife and I, which was one of the highlight of my trip!

Mistakenly gave me a room with someone else in it already. Staff tried to make up with free breakfast but didn’t make up for the stress of disturbing someone. Also had a fire evacuation at midnight in the rain, no reason given, and then false alarm again 6 AM with Alarm for 1 mins. Worst stay in a while.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton. Great location, good food/cocktails, comfortable room, and wonderful spa! 10/10 would recommend the deep muscle massage at the One Spa. Purchase the breakfast ahead of time so you can save a little. If you book it day of, it’s slightly more expensive.

A little taken aback when checking in to have photo ID demanded… not been asked for this before when travelling in the UK but apparently it’s “Company policy” didn’t have any on me as it’s not a legal requirement in the UK so I had to give 2x credit cards… what’s going on.
Rooms are getting a little tired and could do with a refresh, if your charging £400+ a night you expect it to be better than is on offer.
No mini bar stocked so no night cap as I could not be bothered to call down for a drink and wait…
Other brands are getting better at providing extras such as soda free of charge and chocolates, but this seems not to be on the cards for the mighty Sheraton Grand Edinburgh.

Our stay was great. We did not know that the pool only allowed kids for two separate hours each day. That was a surprise. But we made it worked and enjoyed the stay.
