Repeat visit

The rooms are very large and spacious, with extremely comfortable bed. The location is wonderful. My only dislike is that housekeeping can be improved. They should be checking to make sure that all staples, like toilet paper and Kleenex have been restocked. I should have not had to contact reception to get these items restocked. Otherwise, fabulous room, location, and front end staff!!

It was convenient, great rooms

My stay was excellent but I did notice that a guy going into a room next to mine who was Asian and then when I came past again another guy (European) was going into the same room. He came straight out and came down the lift with me saying my room already has someone in it.

Cleaning was lacking,lots of dust in areas.Marks and stains on the carpet.Bed was like sleeping on concrete. The place needs to be refurbished and actually make it worth the money that people spend to stay there.

Dated property, cold and noisy. Limited dining options when Flying in after 7pm.

The meal in the casino not to flash. Heater in the room faulty and kept banging all night. Beautiful stylish room.

I loved my stay here and everyone was very kind and they all went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable. I would've liked milk in my fridge though, and not to have to phone room service.

Checking in at 4.30pm only to be told room not ready. Considered this to be particularly very inconvenient as checkin advertised available from 2pm

Great service, clean rooms and good food options

The fuse blew in our room at 8am - I rang reception and no one turned up until 11.30am. My wide needed to iron clothes for the university graduation which started at 10.30. She was also unable to use her hair straighteners, or boil the jug to make tea. It completely ruined what was an important day and was very poor service. We received no apology or compensation from the hotel for the inconvenience - we will not stay here again and would not recommend to others.

Carpark was confusing and our card didn't work so had to ring reception. We felt that area needs to be improved. Otherwise great stay, thank you.

Downtown feel.

We stayed at Scenic Southern Cross as part of a larger trip of New Zealand. The hotel was convenient to the central city and not far from the Octagon. The room was very comfortable and quiet although the view from room was a parking lot. We found parking on the street right across from the hotel for our overnight stay. The staff was great. We visited the Casino which was a good sized venue but did not gamble. We closed out our night on the town with a nightcap at the hotel bar watching rugby with some other hotel guests. Very good stay in Dunedin.
