Staff was nice. Room was very dirty. Tv was covered in sticky stuff. Carpet was old Bathroom had toothpaste or soap on door handle. The extra door lock did not work. But it was quiet, I think we were the only ones on that floor

Very disappointed in this hotel. Not set up for customers with disabilities to get to the other side of building for breakfast. Air quality was bad. I had to cancel my last night because my breathing was not good in the room.

There were no wash cloths in the bathroom. No breakfast like the website said. The staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely nothing pictures of hotel were very deceiving. Expedia should be shamed of themselves for even recommending this on their website it was awful I will be calling someone to review it at a higher level. Nets were flying around in the room stains on the linen and pillow cases sink was clogged up outdated carpet the door did not close behind you for security when you left I will be calling Mackinaw local officials

The first room we were given had a broken closet door and smelled musty. The second room was a bit better. We way overpaid for the quality and the price of the room if we had held off and purchased on the way to our destination. Paid double! Staff was pleasant, but the place itself was run down.

Decent hotel. Nothing special. They don’t offer continental breakfast but instead have 50% off at two places down the road. Avoid the one with toast in the name. It was atrocious. We didn’t try the other as we ended up getting breakfast food at a store.

Disgusting, that would summarize my review if one word was required. However I’ll give more reasons. The beds had bed bugs, the carpet was dirt, the bathrooms had not been sanitized, the hole in the bathroom door was covered with a magazine, the front door would not close without putting something in between the door lock. This property is beyond disgusting, not doubt is owned by the same family that ruined this city. Stay in St. Ignace, because most of the properties in Mackinaw City are the same.

Adequate for affordable family stay. The ferry was closed when we arrived so had to arrange for a shuttle to other ferry service. Tv and phone not working in one of our rooms, and required two calls to maintenance for the tv to be fixed, but never got the phone repaired. Staff were extremely helpful. Cleanliness was not great, found a toenail in the carpet, and the shower curtain was stained brown near the bottom. Quiet location. Felt safe. Rooms smelt very musty. Unfortunately, my car was scraped all down one side, during the day we spent on the island. Very disappointing, but maybe not the hotel's fault.

I don’t normally write reviews on anything, but I felt like I should write a warning ⚠️ about this place. The rooms are basically picking the one that isn’t too bad to stay in. My boyfriend and I switched room three times. First one had what looked like a poop stain on the wall next to the toilet and black mold looking stuff on the ceiling of the bathroom. The second room, as soon as we walked in we saw black water on the toilet seat and floor of the bathroom. The third one, the one we settled for, had no working vent so the humidity from the bathroom made the room feel Dewey and moist. Definitely not ideal for a room covered in carpet. Walls were super dirty and ceiling in the bathroom had, what looked like early stages of molded. Also, the water park area, I don’t think I read anywhere in the description, but it is a shared space with the crown hotel next door and the cabin spaces. The stock photos on the booking websites are legit a catfish of what you get in person. The price is affordable, but makes me feel like I have to lower my standards to get acceptable quality stay. Or stay on the actual island to stay at a fairly reasonable, clean, and decent hotel.

Walked in the room where everything looked fine until I started looking closely at things. When checking one of the beds I noticed that there were no fitted sheets on either of them, one had a top sheet tucked in to look like a fitted sheet, while the other had that and a mattress protector as a fitted sheet. The floor was badly stained, as well as the baseboards. In the bathroom the toilet was about to come off the floor with how wobbly and unstable it was, and the towels had stains. Windows were dirty and filled with cobwebs. When checking out we were not asked how our stay was and when asked about a manager was told that there were not as on site to assist.

this place is old and needs work. The last time I stayed here they had a nice breakfast area now it is closed, and they only have coffee. It's cheap and you get what you pay for here.

Room was very nice, clean & bed was firm. Bathroom was also clean. Very nice location, walking distance to the center of the city. Have room coffee (not the best) and down by the reception too early mornings. Water park is really for little kids.

It’s important to note that the cluster of hotels are owned and operated by one company - and it’s done poorly. Also note: The Ferry across the street is out of commission for the season. Sheplers is the only one operating. Con’s: Rows of laundry sat outside in the rain between Bayside, Crown Point and the Log Cabins. The Elevator was questionable so we always used the stairs where even though there was a card reader for secure access it was always unlocked. Carpets are filthy, Wallpaper peeling For 3 people we were given 2 towels and one wash cloth - one of the towels appeared to have fecal matter on it. We were never given fresh or clean towels or additional wash cloths despite repeated requests. I had to go and buy them so we had some. This was probably for the best. The Pool. The Hot Tub doesn’t work. The Pool and Waterpark are filthy and need to be shut down for renovation and cleaning. Some guests had wrist bands, others did not. The door was always open - anyone could use the pool. Bring your own towels - they never have any and the kid that works the pool sits outside of it and will walk in, look at the empty towel bins and go back to his chair outside. There is mold in every window in the pool area. A LOT of mold. There is no breakfast and the places they encourage you to go to will be a waste of money. Sheets stained, Pillow cases stained. AC unit worked but was loud. For the money - Run. You can find way better elsewhere for a fraction of the cost

Staff was very nice. Lots of spiders in the stairwells leading to the pool, also in the game room.

The carpeting was very dirty. One of the 3 hinges on the entry door was broken. The breakfast room was listed on the second floor but I couldn’t find it. The desk said that we could get breakfast at the hotel next door. The hotel was very noisy and the walls were so thin we could hear conversations through the wall. Never again.

The hotel itself was ok. They don't keep up on the maintenance around the building. Outside window was full of spider webs wasn't a view that is pleasant to look at. We kept the curtians closed. When arrived the air wasn't turned on in the room, it was very stuffy and took awhile to cool off. They only provided 2 bath towels and lots of hand towels and wash clothes. When asked room service they said they don't have any and to go to front desk. The water park is more focused towards young kids.

The hotel was clean and good for families with pets. It is old and run down but that didn't matter to us and our 3 kids. The kids loved the water park and it is in walking distance to restaurants and shops.

The property was not clean. The pool area was disgusting. Mildew and moss were growing on the inside of the windows. Would not stay there again.

Hotel needs some upkeep. Hotel itself is fine, but generally looks unkept and unloved. Our television had to be unplugged to turn it off. Carpet in room had numerous stains. Numerous scatter mats were askew (why so many mats?) Exterior doors to lobby were always open letting flies in. Needs someone to take an interest in function and appearance.

The property was dirty everywhere. We had checked in, got to our room and found it to be dingy, musty, and dusty. That was just the start. Proceeded to take a walk through the rest of the hotel since they have a small waterpark and game room that our kids wanted to see. The game room was dirty, windows open with water damage on them like they have been open all year. No screens in the windows with plenty of bugs in the room. The hallways had "splatters" on them, torn wall paper. Broken light fixtures on the floor. Dust everywhere I mean everywhere. The Breakfast area, if you call it that was covered in dust like it hadn't been used in years. Wallpaper peeling with mold behind it. Exterior doors with gaps under them big enough for plenty of small creatures to come in.We went back to our room grabbed our luggage and checked out. We ask for a refund showing them pictures of everything we encountered in just our 30 mins of trying decide where else to stay. The staff said they would have to charge us at least one night since we booked through Expedia. They also tried to blame the other hotel since this is considered a shared space between another hotel. Never again Bayside your hotel is trash now! We are going to have to dispute the claim with our credit card. This was the last two days of our family vacation that we wanted to spend in Mackinaw after visiting Picture Rocks. We could not find another location and ended up cutting our trip short and driving home through the night.
