Loved the location and great view

Fantastic boutique hotel right on the beach. Clean and comfortable rooms with friendly helpful staff in a prime location. If you can afford it pay the extra for an ocean view room.

First the service was atrocious, called the reception at 21:05 for milk (as none was provided) and was told in a very rude manner that I had go the after hours line and I would have to wait for reception to open at 07:00, no issues, I asked that it be delivered first thing in the morning as we needed to check out at 07:30 and was told it would be so. Called reception at 07:15 and got a very grumpy after hours line again, this time the tone belonged to someone who was clearly not happy. I was asked why I dialed that number and replied I had just dialed reception, call was just hung up without any further explanation. Milk never came and when we left at 07:30 reception was empty. The room and bathroom were dirty, bedding old and torn. Amenities provided for one person though two were booked. Room needs attention, lots of rust which is understandable being oceanside but it shouldn't be allowed to get to the level that it was, messed with the beautiful aesthetic created by the surroundings. Only good thing about this place is the view.

The staff at this hotel were excellent. When we checked in quite late the checkin staff were lovely and helpful. We booked for a second night however our room type was not available so were offered an 1140am checkout as the second nights room would not be ready until later in the day. We received a phone ca next morning saying we could stay in our room for another Night and moving was not required. Touched like this make a stay so very enjoyable and hassle free. Check out staff excellent also. Highly recommend this hour if staying in Dunedin.

Loved the view. Also the St Clair precinct is great for dining

Underground parking was particularly useful as I had two cycles on a rack on the car. I would not have liked to park on the road where theft or damage to the cycles was possible.

Bloody great

The good: Really nice spacious room. The bed was super comfortable. Great views of the beach from the balcony. The not so good: Bathroom has mold in the shower and the shower mixer was leaking and had poor water pressure.

The property is in a premium location and close to the restaurants and bars of St Clair. The room was comfortable and we had a wonderful view of the surf beach. The only criticism was the cleaning of the room was not up to the usual standard expected at a property of this nature.

The hotel has an outstanding location. You are looking directly at the ocean. We watched surfers from our room. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. There are several nice restaurants in the area. The hotel itself looks a little dated which felt ok for the beachy vibe. Parking was difficult on the weekend.

We had a wonderful stay at the St.Clair. It is located directly at the waterfont we had the direct views of the bay and sea only a few metres from our balcony. Staff was very friendly, the rooms clean. If you are staying there visit the "Long dog" for breakfast,. Awesome views and good breakfast only 100m away.

Great location - quiet, fantastic views and beautiful sunrise over the sea. Great eateries close by.

Nice waterfront location

The sight from our window was awesome. The staff were brilliant, went above and beyond. Very clean and the unit had a bath.

Very nice location on beautiful beach. Several nice restaurants in the area. Our room was not Ocean Front but could see part of the beach with many people surfing. Also had good view of sunset from our balcony.

They have no designated hotel parking. You have to take your chances with rest of the public. The car park below the hotel is public as well. So on a sunny day almost impossible to park. Found interaction with staff very poor. Customer service training needed.

Such a great little hotel with a fabulous restaurant next door and several down the street... amazing surfing beach and lovely rooms with stunning views... a memorable place for sure..

Great hotel on waterfront, a few cafes and restaurants within walking distance, amazing 3 km beach and esplanade

Location was outstanding but I feel like the hotel and villages were overrated. Rooms were very small and layout was awkward -our room was on main level that overlooked the main parking lot. No privacy and had to keep curtains closed. Village rooms are a lot further from the main hotel and restaurants than pictured. I feel like the pics were outstanding and the accommodations were fair. Very disappointing, but weather was great so we didn't have to stay in room but to sleep (expensive slumber).
