Hotel Scherman was perfect for our family’s first trip to NY. The room was spacious and comfortable. Having a small fridge and microwave was a huge help for our family member with food allergies, the breakfast was lovely, and the roof top deck was beautiful! What a view! All of the staff was very friendly and welcoming and helpful, They graciously held our bags for us when we arrived early and they were waiting for us in the room when we got back from exploring. The location is so convenient and we enjoyed walking to everything. We could not have picked a more perfect hotel and we will be back!

WOW! I cannot say enough about my stay at this incredible hotel. I booked this for an overnight with my sisters and we had the two bedroom suite which included a beautiful balcony. Check in was so easy and Jerry was very helpful. I walked into the suite and just kept saying Wow! So very spacious for NYC. We had two separate rooms each with their own bathroom and a lovely sitting room. Breakfast included was very nice. Such a nice quiet space so near all the action but tucked away on such a lovely street.

When we arrived to the hotel, we were doubtful while seeing the weird entrance. But once in the room, we were very happy and comfortable. People at the reception and breakfast were very nice. Room was beautiful and silent...in spite of facing the street. I would happily return.

SIMPLY THE BEST! Wonderful hotel. Kind staff. Clean. Upgraded our room at no additional cost. Breakfast was great. Just had a wonderful time. Zero complaints. Truly wonderful stay.

The hotel is really nice, rooms feel new and it’s very clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It has a family Vibe unlike all the other big hotels in the area. The location is great, the street is nice and pretty and very close to Times Square.

Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Room is small but perfect for our stay. Had a fridge,comfy bed,and most importantly, clean. We were asked as we were checking out if we would like our bags held for the day, he said they will hold bags until 8pm on the day of the checkout. I'm not sure if this is a normal service from a NYC hotel but I thought it was a great idea and we'll probably use it on our next stay there. Would definitely recommend.

This is hands down my new favorite hotel in NYC. The staff were great, the rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The location is great and has a heap of good restaurants nearby…highly recommend!

We only stayed one night but the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and quite spacious. The breakfast was a nice touch and all you need to start your day in NYC. We will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is not rated accordingly or objectively. The room was nice, but the property, hotel conditions and comfort are not adequate for a 4 star hotel nor a highly rated hotel. One thing that makes the stay worthwhile is the empathy and devotion of the staff. Staying again here would be very unlikely.

A friendly and helpful staff like this is truly a rare find in NYC! The rooms are in two historic buildings, one with no elevator, but the bellman carried our bags up the 3 flights of stairs and the room was surprisingly large. Very comfortable bed and nicely appointed furniture. Best stay in midtown, we will go back!

We had a lovely stay in Hotel Scherman. We stayed in a Superior King which was a good size and having breakfast included was a bonus. A great location with lots of good restaurants nearby. I would recommend it.

Amazing value for the money, especially in Midtown NYC, right by Times Square, Broadway theaters, and every kind of public transportation to take you anywhere you might want to go. There's no room service, but excellent restaurants are everywhere. The hotel is made up of two small converted apartment buildings; if you aren't able to climb stairs, make sure you are in the elevator building. Both buildings are old, but clean, and the rooms are nicely renovated. The bathrooms are spotless, there's lots of hot water, and the provided toiletries are unscented. Comfortable beds, good lighting, controllable thermostats, cable TV, free wi-fi, coffee maker and refrigerator, etc. A cold, self-serve breakfast is included. Most importantly, everyone who works for the hotel, whether on-site or on the phone, is friendly and helpful. I will definitely return!

Family trip to New York. This hotel was magnificent. I can highly recommend. The most impressive features were the decor, the terrace and it's location. Absolutely perfect!

Great little hotel off the beaten path from Times Square. We only stayed one night, but the desk staff was friendly, breakfast included was a nice (and rare) touch, and room was impeccably clean. We will definitely stay here again.

Great hotel tucked in among many restaurants. Helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast is adequate: toast, croissants, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, hard boiled eggs, enough to start your day.

Food was outstanding in the Tavern and the customer service was top-notch. They got us in early, even though it was not guarantee and everything was clean and just very, very appealing aesthetically.

We have been to New York City many many times over the years. This hotel was our very favorite overall. We stayed at fancier ones. We’ve stayed at National chains. The personal care and attention you get from everyone at Hotel Scherman has been unsurpassed. While my husband would have preferred bacon and eggs biscuits and gravy for breakfast, the kids and I were very happy with the complementary continental breakfast. The walk ability to Broadway shows and Times Square was wonderful. We never ate in any of the cute little bistros along the street, but they were very popular in the evenings. Many years ago we ate at Frankie and Johnnies and really enjoyed it but since we had two12-year-olds with us this time we skipped it.

Amazing hotel.

The property was pleasing and comfortable including beds, pillows, room amenities, temperature control. But mostly we felt welcomed and very well taken care of without feeling intruded upon. We loved our stay here.

Everything was great except the tv. It was complicated to watch tv as I had to change input to access local tv. Otherwise a fantastic place with an amazing exceptional shower.

This was my second stay here and my go to hotel in New York now, small boutique hotel, customer service is great, staff is welcoming, hotel is close to great restaurants and Broadway, safe and walkable. We will return

My girlfriend and I only stayed here for one night, but will definitely be coming back the next time we’re in New York. The hotel is super cute and the rooms were very clean. Staff is nice as well. Great location. The only issue we had was that we could hear the music from the bar downstairs all the way on the 3rd floor. I’d recommend white noise or earplugs if you’re staying below the 3rd floor Th-Sa. Highly recommend!
