The Merchant Hotel was a bank in its previous life. As a former banker myself, I enjoyed hearing about it’s history, and seeing how beautifully it has been converted to its present use. Magnificent!

Stayed in Victorian room, quite dark but very comfortable , art deco rooms much nicer . Got twin room first when I requested a king bed . Changed us no problem. Put a balloon and chocolate on the bed as a surprise for birthday which was lovely . Great central location .

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, the only downside was an alarm going off several times at 1am 3am. Aside from this it was fine. The breakfast included was perfect. Good location and great customer service.

Beautiful hotel and nice staff who will do anything for you. Comfortable, luxurious and building is stunning. Only criticism is that I think 3pm is too late for check in. 12/13:00 is more realistic.

Super room easy check in … parked the car but didn’t say it would be £35 pounds to do so … would not let us have food in the bar at 9.30 only room service which 1hour and 40mins arrived even every time we called down they said 5mins … waste of a evening in the city didn’t get to enjoy the hotel bar .. they took it off the bill but they served others food non residents so overall disappointed… reception staff very pleasant.. it just was a bad night .

This property couldn’t have been more beautiful, gracious, and historic. The food at the jazz club and main restaurant was fantastic . Very impressive that the main restaurant had a plant-based tasting menu which was delicious. Loved the jazz club atmosphere and jazz combo playing. The hotel staff was so kind and helpful. When we arrived from a long early flight and our room would not be available for several hours they allowed us to rest in the spa which made such a difference. The bedroom was spacious and beautifully decorated with all the necessary amenities. The Merchant was recommend strongly to us by a good friend and we certainly will be dojng the same for any other friends going to Belfast. It’s also very well appointed - an easy walk to the Titanic museum and many beautiful picturesque side streets around it with nice pubs. Thank you so much Merchant Hotel and wonderful staff. We will be back!

Absolutely loved my stay. It was my first time but won’t be the last. We had an Art Deco room and it was spectacular. Spacious and so comfortable. We used the roof top hot tub too which was a lovely treat. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in from anywhere in the world. 5 star from start to finish. the moment you walk in the concierge and reception are so welcoming, the room was stunning and immaculately clean, the spa was so relaxing with amazing bar service, the grand Room restaurant for dinner and breakfast was fine dining at its best with the best waiting staff in terms of service, friendliness and they were all dressed so smartly and so well presented.
It is somewhere we will actually specifically make the effort to fly to now just to experience the Hotel- it was utterly fantastic.

Had prepaid for our stay and it took the checkin staff a couple of minutes to confirm this, staff all very friendly. Breakfast was included and was a wonderful experience.
Only thing that would make me question the cleanliness of the room was the fact that I found 2 pairs of socks in the drawer from what I imagine was a previous guest.

A beautiful hotel with friendly attentive staff. The off-site parking is not ideal but you do get a discount and can pay for your parking when checking out. The food is fantastic, and hospitality is second to none. There are a host of great restaurants and pubs on the doorstep and the hotel is second away from the centre of town.

Fabulous hotel - it's just really beautiful. The Victorian dining room and bar are amazing and our Art Deco room was spacious ....and everything was spotlessly clean. IMHO they have the COVID response exactly right....everything is clean, sanitiser everywhere, people where masks etc but it still manages to be a hotel and not an operating theatre. We had dinner in the Great Room - delicious and in Bert's Bar again really delicious (particularly the Mussels). Breakfast was amazing too. Seriously one of my favourite hotels ever...anywhere.

An impressive building with to die for bedrooms and facilities, but more importantly the staff were out of this world. My partner hurt his back on the trip to the hotel and the staff from the concierge, reception, gym to the restaurant could not have done more to help him and to help with his pain. We will definitely be back!!!

The Merchant is a lovely hotel in the heart of Belfast. The rooms a big, clean and full of character, and the staff are very helpful. Our only complaint – and it's a big one – is that some rooms are incredibly noisy. We stayed in room 208, which right above the street. It was a Saturday night and music from the bars below was unbearable. The hotel was fully-booked, too, so there was no option but to put in some earplugs and stay put. It's a shame, because everything else was great!
