Nothing other than its convenience.

As a 77 year old man, I was given a room on the 6th floor - the lift only went to the 5th floor. The room was accessed via a very tight, steep spiral staircase - it was actually dangerous, especially coming down. When I tried to query the appropriateness of the room, I was told that it was the only room - take it or leave it. The breakfast table had a bowl off 'fresh fruit' that was - quite frankly - rotten. While eating my breakfast, a member of the domestic staff deciding to spray all the neighbouring tables with disinfectant cleaner. A minibus arrived to pick up a party of students - it must be cheap for them, because it is barely fit as a youth hostel. Do not be misled by the name 'Best'!!

Convenient location - that's all!

Virtually everything. The hotel is dirty - not just surface dirt, it needs an industrial deep clean. The staff treat you as an irritant. They need to go on an extensive customer facing skills course. However, as the Bulgarian College of Tourism is ranked 48th out of 48 Universities in Bulgaria and 13,242th in the World, I doubt if they can help very much - they are more likely to be the cause. Best Western - an odd name, given the state of the hotel - must be planning on selling the hotel or knocking it down. Senior management need to pay an unannounced visit.

dirty and dated

The location is near a subway station.

The dirtiest hotel we have been to. There was literally trash from previous guests in the wardrobe and the bathroom looked like it hasn't been cleaned regularly. Plus the windows right next to the bed are pretty old so they are leaking sound which is bad in a room that is right next to the street. The restaurant is pretty small so it easily gets full. The breakfast was below average with half of the food missing if you go after a certain time.

Location is convenient to family and friends and Sofia centre

1. Bedding never changed for 8 days 2. Rooms not cleaned for first 2 days and then very intermittent with just towels and bins 3. Beds were never made up 4. Towels not provided on many occasions 5. Bins not emptied 6. Curtains hanging off the rail 304 7. Floor not cleaned and never dusted 8. Fridge not replenished - wanted water on many occasions but never available 9. Always yes yes yes at reception to our requests and then nothing changed 10. simple things like toothpaste requested - advised yes during the day and then night staff said no 11. Shower had no hot water on many occasions 12. Requested clean bedding multiple times - it never happened until I called front desk to my room

Location, price, breakfast

Had a shower drain clogged and leaking, floor was always wet. Silicone sealant became black and green. Room wasn't cleaned even once during our stay. Room was ready only at 15 for check-in. However, room and location was comfortable and breakfast was great.
