This is a great spot to explore & enjoy the Santa Cruz area from. It's a clean, simple, comfortable home with an attractive front and nice little garden porch out back. The kitchen is well equipped and was not lacking in anything notable.

Perfection! Literally. Lana was the most gracious and available host, the place is beeeeeaauuuutifil - squeaky clean, quiet, peaceful, bright and sunny, bed was next-level comfortable. The neighborhood was amazing, and I had everything I could possibly need. I don't want to stay anywhere else when I come to Santa Cruz! It was so hard to leave.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in Lana’s main house. The relaxing living room, comfortable beds, gorgeous back and front garden were an oasis. We enjoyed the sweet neighborhood and quick walk to the local beach that is perfect for swimming. The house was clean and the kitchen worked to cook in. We loved the main house and would highly recommend staying if you are two people.
Our only disappointment was that the second bedroom /studio unit in the garden has a very very strong smell of mold and has visible black mold in the closet and bathroom. It felt worrying and unhealthy. The smell was so strong that we didn’t leave bags or items in there and slept with the door open. We wrote to Lana and sent photos about the concern sharing that it was not noted on the listing and that the price (peak summer prices) did not reflect the concern. She asked if we wanted to leave and said that she would refund our money if we did but would not offer a discount . We looked for another home that night but everything was booked so we stayed but with trepidation about the mold and disappointment about the cost.
We strongly suggest that the mold be addressed and that guests not stay in that unit until it is healthy to do so.

This was a great place for 2 couples to stay...separate sleeping places and a beautiful garden backyard to relax after a long day of California dreaming! Walkable to the beach, the marina and restaurants.

This was the best vacation we've had in a long time. The accommodations were beautiful and the location was perfect. This little beach house was a dream! Lana thought of everything to make it comfortable for guests. I can't wait to stay again. Thank you for everything, Lana!

I was surprised by the worn out condition of the place. The gardens are very nice as was the bedroom in the main house. The living room area is extremely small and the bathroom shower/tub is in poor shape.

Love! Love! Love! Absolutely fabulous & charming! I kinda don’t want to tell you how excellent this property is- I want it available for me! I can’t afford to buy such a charming beach house like this- so a 4 day stay gave me a slice of heaven! The beach is so close! Extremely walkable- quiet sweet residential street- like 2 blocks away to the beach! The home is so sweet, decorated impeccably & stocked with every thing you need to “move in” for awhile. Host was always available via text- gave me a sense of security if I needed anything regarding the property. Oh! I can’t forget to mention the gardens! The front & back yard are beautiful! Plenty of seating to pull up a chair and enjoy your coffee in the morning & wine at night. I always need tv- tv had plenty of channels to satisfy me. A smart tv too- you can find any of your subscriptions & log in easily.
So anyway- I love this place & hope to have the opportunity to stay again. Everyone I know, loves Santa Cruz & this home is the epitome of Santa Cruz- this home has everything you could ever want & hope for. I just hope I can stay here again!

The home is well appointed, comfortable and has all the amenities you'd need. It is immaculately clean.
Parking is easy and it's very quiet and serene.
There is a detached small studio unit on the property behind the main house.
The neighborhood is very convenient and walkable to a small grocery, Deke's, next block over and restaurants. Do not miss the Harbor Cafe!
The beach is in walking distance.
I highly recommend this property for a relaxing, enjoyable stay.

We enjoyed our stay at this house just a couple of blocks away from the beach, Crow's Nest and the Santa Cruz harbor. The house had everything needed for an enjoyable visit to the Santa Cruz area.

This cottage was so clean and beautiful! It was so relaxing and well kept. Just a short walk to the beach and we were able to ride our bikes to our favorite restaurant.

Lana’s place is amazing. It’s a great location to relax, walk to the beach with your coffee and then open both doors and enjoy the sun talking to neighbors. I would buy that place.

Stayed 4 nights, really liked it. Very clean, had everything we needed. A few negatives are, the bed is too small, needs a queen size, not a full and a better mattress. Heater (wall unit) makes way too much noise when temperature is reached and turns off, banging noise. Wanted to take a bath but unable to fill with just that shower head, spa in bath doesn’t work although looks inviting. Needs a better coffee maker, dated. Needs a bigger television, 50” would be perfect. Could put that 32” in bedroom. Even with those negatives we loved the place and would stay again and again. Easy fixings.

When we got to the cottage it seemed to be all that was promised. Cute seaside decor. Nice landscaping. Nice deck etc. We put our luggage away & unloaded our food & other items in the kitchen. after arriving that we realized there was an electrical problem in the living room. The TV didn’t work & an outlet next to the sofa also didn’t work. The light in the hallway didn’t work, but not sure whether that was a bad bulb or somehow related to other electrical issue. In reading previous review, we see that there was an electrical problem before and clearly had not been resolved. We reached out to the manager, & she immediately had her repair person come over. He confirmed an ongoing issue with the electrical in the house, and his only solution to us was to provide an extension cord for us to plug in the TV. this did solve the problem, but made it a dangerous situation to have the extension cord draped across the floor to plug it in the kitchen. He said that they would look into getting an electrician & get back to us, but we never heard anything more.The amenities on the listing say there is a spa, which there was at one time in the bathtub. That no longer functions and the bathtub is not usable - shower only. The manager told us that someone had broken the plug & she hasn’t been able to get that fixed. There’s nothing in the listing. There’s more we would share & feel we deserve a discount on the nearly $350 a day we paid. We are frequent travelers & rarely post negative.

The Yacht Harbor Beach House is perfectly located to explore our favorite places in the area from Aptos, to Capitola, to beaches (Twin Lakes beach is just down the street), and Pacific Avenue. The house is clean and well-equipped, the enclosed yard is perfect for a pet, and the deck is a wonderful place to read, dine, or simply enjoy the phenomenal trumpet vines and white bird of paradise. We hope to stay again next year for our annual visit to the area.

Loved everything about it! It is decorated perfectly! Spent time on the back deck with all the lovely flowers!! Loved that there were beach chairs and a small cooler. So nice to be able to walk to the beach! We would definitely book this location again!!

We loved our 3-night stay in this cute spot. The private backyard and patio furniture was great for outdoor meals. The bed and bedding was super comfortable. Overhead fans were all we needed to keep cool. Very quiet street; tons of privacy. We appreciated the host's thorough communication and pet-friendly policy. The beach is a very short walk away (at the end of the street). Would love to return and stay here again.

We had a great stay at the beach cottage. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. It's walking distance to the beach and Crow's Nest and the neighborhood felt safe to walk around in.
There is a studio in the back that shares the yard with the beach house. It would be super fun to get both cottages with another couple. We will definitely be back!

I rented a few days with my son and we had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and checking-in was very easy. The beach is nearby and had lot of places to walk. I would definitely stay again and I am thankful for the hosts.

Perfect for two. Was roomy and comfy even though we were only staying to sleep and shower. Quite neighborhood. If I had one negative it was that the bed though comfy, fell to the center so this made it feel small. We are used to sleeping in a bigger bed. My husband rolled to the middle and I hung onto the bed side. LOL! However, we would stay there again.
