The historic building is beautiful. Its quiet and not far from shops. I stay here every time i visit auckland. The spa bath is what tops it off tho ❤️ and the price of the room never changes. Thank you 🙏

There was food (candy) from a previous guest under the bed. I saw this as soon as I walked in. The bedside tables were thick with dust. There was also hair in the bathtub from a previous guest. The bed cover also had crusty stains. This hotel should not be considered 4 star. It is so unclean and unhygienic. I showed the receptionist the evidence. She said the dust was there because the window was open before I arrived. That makes no sense. I had to leave a day earlier due to the unclean state of the room. The receptionist promised a refund of one night. I am still yet to receive this. Absolutely terrible stay and worse service.

Location was great, hotel was very clean and quiet, room was very spacious

The location for visiting Onehunga Dress Smart, Sylvia Park, and surrounding suburbs was great, easy to find, friendly staff, check-in and out easy peasy. Good off-street parking, the Devereux was ideal for a place to use as a base to sleep for myself and my daughter for cpl of nights. For a brief Akld stay, it was all good!

Kitchenette items lacking, only had 2 b'fast bowls, mugs, knife, fork n spoons. No dinner plates or bowls to heat stuff in the microwave. Smoke detector not in the ceiling but found in a kitchen drawer with NO battery and no outside light for going down the stairs when leaving the unit at night.

Smell of smoking in room. ( A Non smoking hotel???) Electrical multi point plug all exposed for: TV, Heater, Fan and water jug. Wires all loose. Not safe and not al all professional. Needs to be fully prewired to comply

Staff very friendly and helpful, good off-street parking, family room at the back of the main building was well sized, comfortable enough.

A bit old and in need of attention, not particularly clean, cobwebs and spiders, spilt sugar at the tea/coffee facilities.

The location.

We were put in a small back room. No air conditioning or microwave oven ( as there was one stated). Holes in walls, dirty and very old beds.
