Amazing hotel over looking the sea, in need of a little facelift. Overall a pleasant stay

Very dirty windows in the room. Not properly working shower, somebody smoking weed and cigarettes outside and smoke got into the room, issues with getting a parking space. Very old style hotel, noisy street nearby, would not return.

A wonderful hotel with a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Hotel is very cheap and you get what you pay for. Great position on sea front about a mile from the town. Needs a serious refurbishment reminded me of 1960s biarding house

Rooms and breakfast over priced. Rooms are small and poky. Carpet bubbling which was not good as partner uses walking stick. Unable to park in hotel parking had to park on sude street.

Arrived at the hotel no available parking so had to park in front of No parking sign was told by quite a grumpy receptionist that is was ok to park there as long as we weren’t blocking any other cars!? Hotel is in desperate need of updating, feels like back to the 90’s. Room was noisy from the corridor, people walking past on the creaky floorboards and you can hear what they are talking about, the room was ridiculously hot and small for a family room, we had a road side room, and as it was so hot we had to have the window open with cars zooming by constantly as on a main road into Paignton, not ideal so none of us had any sleep! Chose to eat out as the Menu was not very appetising, came back and a few parking spaces had become available, the hotel does not take any responsibility for any damage to the cars, we noticed someone had scraped the front of our car the next day! Breakfast in the restaurant was not good either, ordered a full English, asked for beans in a separate bowl which I gave to my husband and burnt my hand by lifting it off my plate, was not advised the plates were hot! Member of Staff came over and gave me some ice for the burn. The breakfast itself, well, the bacon was like it had been boiled, completely white not crispy, sauté potatoes were soggy and looked black, sausage and mushrooms were just standard, very disappointing stay and safe to say we will definitely not stay again.

Awful. Paper thin walls, I could everything being said in the room next door and they weren’t in anyway being particularly loud. No hot water in the evening. Water in the shampoo bottle. Used soap in shower soap dish.

Great sea view with large terrace leading out from bedroom. Breakfast was good. Free parking.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful and approachable. The rooms were comfortable and seemed recently refurbished. The food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was good, fairly expensive for dinner. The bar food was also good and better value. Views from the dining room and, especially, the bar were very good and it was lovely to walk out onto the terrace to look at the bay. On the down side, we had asked for an accessible bathroom for my elderly mother-in-law. The only real accessible feature was the walk-in shower. For example, there were no grab rails which are an easy to fit aid that are both practically helpful and give confidence to those who may be a bit unsteady on their feet, or need to grip something to help them stand up. I think the hotel should be more open about its limited definition of “accessible”. Fortunately, we had brought with us equipment that mitigated this.

Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Hotel location on the beach is superb. All staff and restaurant food were exceptional.Our room was rather small, worn carpet and chairs should be replaced,however everything worked ok and the room was satisfactorily cleaned every day and the beds were comfortable.We will visit this hotel again but will try to book a larger sea view room.

Room funishings a little dated but eveything worked fine. Bed could have been a little more comfortable. View from the room was outstanding, right across the bay towards the harbour, beautiful.

Hotel is dated and needs a refurbishment, couldn't work out how to use the shower. Restaurant prices are expensive. However, the staff are brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Overall enjoyed our stay because of them.

Very dated hotel 30 minute walk to to Torquay extortionate prices for food beds all clean but dust everywhere just a disappointment for so much money wouldn’t stay again oh and if you fancy staying in bed after 7-730 forget it grass cutting and the road very noisy we had a sea view and still heard the road!

The lift was a total joke. You had to hold the door open, hold the gate open and then get into a lift the size of a cupboard. Certainly not big enough for a wheelchair.

Certainly not worth £213!Old, tired hotel. I would suggest that the hotel manager takes a shower in room 28 and let us know what he/she thinks...

The location was ideal for us as even though a 25 minute walk to Torquay we enjoy exploring the other local areas. The view from the bedroom was lovely and didn't regret paying that little extra for a sea view. The only downside was that the shower water was only ever luke warm.The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. They took the precautions due to the pandemic very seriously.
