Breakfast excellent.The room was very clean and tidy. Close to amenities. We had a missing TV remote and it was sorted right away. The spa facilities were excellent and we will definitely book this hotel again.

Free parking near the entrance. Not always the case in Paignton. Breakfast freshly cooked served at the table. A large comfortable en suite room. Bar meals good. In all areas the staff were very polite and friendly. Proximity to the sea front. The pool was great. My husband said the gym was good too.

Seeing the young restaurants staff smoking outside, and smelling of smoke when serving breakfast

Character hotel with unrivalled seafront location centrally overlooking the bay. Second stay this year and staff very helpful in arranging a private room on both occasions so we could entertain relatives for lunch.

Very fascinating and impressive - History and Luxury in one place! MUST-SEE place in DAvon! An excellent experience. Hotel with very high standard on everything and an exceptionally service-minded and attentive staff. Absolutely beautiful hotel and rooms, the decor is stunning, large and perfectly well-equipped bathroom, heavenly comfortable bed with crisp linens. Special praise to the Head Chef for a unforgettable and delicious dinner at a very high level! If luxury is your thing, then stay here!

Loved absolutely everything about this wonderful hotel. Staff were great . Food was good and the steps to the beach were amazing. The beach was beautiful too. We were sorry we weren’t staying longer.

Location views great

You can't fault the location but my goodness the hotel needs some serious love and attention. Poor breakfast choice on the "buffet" and its pretty much fry up or bust on the cooked option. The bar food is super basic but served quickly. The first room we were given was truly awful BUT the excellent chap we spoke with was quick to remedy by giving us a much better room. That said, it was super hot, couldn't turn off the radiator in the bathroom and a small not very comfortable double bed. A great shame. This hotel could be truly magnificent with some investment and attention to detail. The biggest saving grace was the fact that every member of staff was truly delightful. We booked through booking.com and were supposed to pay on arrival but the hotel took the money days before we arrived. When I asked the hotel why, I was told it was because some people don't turn up! I suggested that perhaps they change the "pay at the hotel" option to begin with and this would save any misunderstanding

Building had history and it was in a lovely location.

Bedrooms where very small. The bed wasn’t a double. NO Air conditioning in rooms or fans. Only a small window in room. We had to go buy a fan. The room was small and boiling. No air. Sauna. Jacuzzi not working. Outside pool not open. Bar closes at 10pm. The view from our room was a roof. Won’t stay again

Spacious room. Lovely breakfast. Nice setting right on the seafront. Enjoyed swims in the indoor pool.

Outdoor pool was shut in July when it was meant to be open. Also, no jacuzzi or sauna open.

Room nice and clean, nice size and very quiet, breakfast was excellent and plenty of it we also had one evening meal and it was very good.

Location was excellent. Indoor pool open 8am-8pm towels provided. Staff friendly and approachable. Comfortable, clean room with good view. Plenty of breakfast choices.

Room was clean and comfortable and made up everyday. Right on beach with magnificent sea views. Short walk to sea front and Paignton harbour. Ideal location for exploring Devon. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental style, and also a cooked menu. There was a bar menu and also a restaurant.

Nothing really, we've stayed previously

Nice sea front location. Rooms good size and very clean well serviced daily.

Sadly the evening meal we had was only average. The menu was very limited and the food was clearly prepared early and kept warm.

The location was perfect. The sun terraces really made the hotel! Friendly staff. Very clean

Bed was a little hard to sleep on. No fan in the room which would possible have made the room less humid Shower wasn't great with very little pressure.
