We had a marvelous stay at the Residency. Nice room, good air con. Great location. Great breakfast. But it is the staff that make this hotel. They are wonderful, they make a good hotel into a truly wonderful one. Highly recommended

Great place to stay & everything is close by

I stayed at this hotel for the third time in March 2024 and it was just as amazing as the previous two occasions (2014 and 2018). This time, too, they recognized me the second I stepped into the lobby. The staff are fantastic, helpful and with a big smile on their faces. Unfortunately the restaurant was no longer open (except for breakfast) but I got tips on other restaurants nearby. Thank you for another pleasant stay with you. See you next time I'm in Mumbai.

Really great staff and very central location. Once the new metro will be ready, whichh will be very soon, there won't be any better location. Size of rooms is okay for a centrally located city hotel and cleanliness along with local standard. Would come back any time. Nice breakfast buffet with indian and western items.

I really enjoyed our stay here. The service was excellent. The hotel breakfast was fantastic with eggs made to order available, as well as barista made coffee, and all the usual breakfast items. The room was clean and comfortable, with dove soap and shampoo available. The hotel itself is sliiightly dated but it was still a lovely stay and wonderful by Indian standards. Bathroom had good hot water.

All staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was nice and they were helpful. Rooms are a bit small but the hotel is excellently located.

The service here was great, timely, friendly and professional very helpful with booking cars, storing luggage, laundry service and all kinds of questions. Thanks to Rajesh and everyone at the front desk and all staff! Breakfast service was great too, food and coffee very good.

Overall a great stay and I would return

The hotel staff are second to none. Kimd. Friendly. Helpful. Area is walkable and so many interesting shops and delicious restaurants. Breakgast in the restaurant is always great. Kesar makes and doews foam art on cappuccinos! Rakesh the concierge, is so kind you will not want to leave. Try Annas Idly restaurant. You cant go wrong staying at the Residency Hotel.

Hotel is 10 minutes from Mumbai cruise terminal and located central to many shopping and tourist hubs. You can walk in all directions and will find things. The Crawford market is about 20 mins walk All hotel staff are helpful and service was impeccable all around. They can exchange currency there. Breakfast was good too. They work hard to keep the hotel clean and enjoyable. There is also elevator. Reception staff (Peter +) really nice folks and F& Bev staff are excellent. Keep it up guys and Thank you. Fantastic location, really helpful staff, clean, quiet, and calm.

Really good standard of accommodation in superb position for walkable trips around Mumbai tourist areas. Metro works nearby to the hotel are on going but didn't really affect sleep. Helpful and friendly staff and the section that we were in (next door to the main entrance, so rooms start with a 7), had recently been refurbished. Try nearby Burma Burma for a too notch meal.

The staff was so incredibly helpful. We had 2 serious issues, one with a tour and one with our next hotel. The staff made calls for us and helped us understand what needed to be done. When we went for a local dinner, a staff member took us 2 blocks to the restaurant and spoke with the owner to treat us well. We had to leave our bags when we left for the tour and they kept them safe and took them to our room when it became ready. Concierge Rajesh was exceptionally helpful many times. They worked harder to help us and make us feel comfortable in a very different environment than we're used to. 5 star hotels have not done a much as they did. If we ever in Mumbai again, we will for sure book here.

Highly recommend this hotel. The staff are exceptional - friendly, helpful, and professional. The hotel is walking distance or easy taxi/rickshaw to shopping, cafe's, restaurants, and sight-seeing locations. The room was clean, tidy and quiet. Breakfast was excellent and they have a coffee machine! Free newspaper and afternoon tea. They can exchange money, cheap laundry next door, help with getting taxi's and airport pick up/drop off.

Difficult to find hotel due to construction nearby.

Cannot recommend enough. The staff are the most adorable and kindest people. So welcoming and friendly. Very clean. Basic but simple, no frills and perfect for a rest and shower after a day sightseeing. Complimentary breakfast buffet was delicious. Six weeks travelling in India, best service and lovely cosy hotel. Convenient location in the Fort area of Mumbai.

Residency’s reception staff – Lawrence, Peter, Sushant, Mr.Patil, Toral & others are extremely accommodating. The Hotel's motto is 'Come as a guest, leave as a friend' & while leaving, I did feel I was waving goodbye to a friend! Keshav’s addressing me Madamji and waiting on me from day1 at breakfast time & evening Masala Chai times was service with a smile & a good heart! Balwant too was a gem! The Complimentary breakfast with Chef Girish in charge is indeed very sumptuous & caters for all tastes & appetites. I mustn’t forget the ever helpful & courteous Rajesh - If you needed transport, Rajesh would very kindly help you book it or hail it! Room necessities like loo rolls, fresh towels, bottles of water were always readily available thanks to cleaners Saahil & Shivam! I could have stayed with relatives but I wanted to experience Mumbai as a tourist and Residency proved to be the right choice for me for a comfortable, safe & a very happy stay; a longer stay than most guests – 14 days!

Hotel well located to explore Mumbai, and customer service was exceptional. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, always asking if anything was needed. I would definitely recommend and will stay there again if I make it back to Mumbai.

Very warm welcome on arrival. We were early but they had 1 room ready. Luggage taken to the room. Offered really good currency exchange service. Amazing customer service feel really looked after. Great breakfast sets you up for the day. My favourite omlette toast and masala chai. Would definitely stay again

My husband and I stayed at the Residency Hotel for 4 nights and had a superb experience. The location is excellent. It is in the old part of Mumbai and well known sites are within pleasant walking distance. These include the Gate of India and Taj Mahal Hotel, Leopoldo's Cafe, Marine Drive, and Chatrapatti Shivaji Maharaj train station. There are plenty of restaurants in the area as well as interesting neighborhoods to explore. The staff at the hotel were warm and welcoming and very helpful. Roshan at the front desk was great and helped to arrange tour guides. One offered a city tour (we highly recommend this) as well as a guided tour to Elephanta Island (also highly recommended). The other staff were excellent as well including Salmin who greeted us as we went to our room which was large and very pleasant. The bed was king size and comfortable. Every aspect of our stay was positive and we highly recommend it.

Superb. All the basics as you'd hope - attractive, comfortable rooms, great shower, excellent AC etc. Plus this is amongst the best service I've had anywhere in the world. Staff all super friendly and helpful - actively working to try and anticipate your needs and invariably getting it right. Care taken with pleasing small details and the hotel's policy is clearly to be generous, with a complementary treat never far away. Breakfast also excellent with dosas and eggs cooked to order and a wide range of other buffet options. This place was a Mumbai highlight, and hope to return some time soon.

The property is in a good location for walking. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. The only issue we had was noise from construction that was outside our window and impacted our sleep. I recommend bringing earplugs with you.

Room is clean but small. Cupboard is terribly small. AC is strong. Bathroom is small. Shower stall is so small you cannotclose the door after getting in. Terrible shower. Breakfast area is cramped, you run an obsticle course of fawning and overbearing critical staff. Front desk is efficient and professional. Whole visit is very stressfully cloistered.

The bed sheets, towels, and even dishes in the kitchen were all heavily stained... pretty disgusting. The AC cover also feel off and could have hit me in the head but luckily it happened while I was not in the room. Breakfast was also very mediocre. The only reason I’m not giving it even less stars is because the location is amazing - so close to a lot of great sites and food locations.

The property is well maintained. Staff is absolutely wonderful. Breakfast buffet does offer enough choices.
